Cadillac Williams Listed as #1 RB in Tampa (1 Viewer)

Wow kind of surprised to see that, I'm guessing the split will remain 40/40/20. Just saw the depth chart updated on the Bucs official website.

My newsletter is only $9.95.

He should be #1. He's the best back here. But, they'll certainly take it easy on him and most likely will split a lot with Ward.

From what I've been reading/hearing, the plan may be to move Graham to a more semi-permanent position at FB, so they can get him on the field with Caddy/Ward. He's a pretty decent lead blocker and can really catch it out of the backfield.

They'll go with Askew a decent amount still and especially in the and 1 or goal situations. But putting Graham with Ward/Caddy gives them one extra playmaker to deal with.

Bucs offense, imo, is being way underrated by everybody. I'll say it once again. Pretty good to very good young line, playmakers in Bryant and Winslow, terrific downfield blocker in Clayton (really one of the best) to open up the lanes 10 yards out and a trio of talented backs. If Leftwich can hang in there and deliver the ball, the Bucs are going to score some points.

Not a lot of depth at WR or OL, so injuries will affect them, but they are pretty set at TE and RB.

Well he finished 2008 strong with 12/78 2 TDs vs the Raiiiiiiiiders last year. Guess a solid preseason game is all it took. Didn't Graham move to FB last year due to injuries? I remember Gruden hyping the ##### out of him for being able to play so many roles......Could be confusing my Bucs

Yea, and he handled it pretty well. He'll be a nice option out of the backfield.

Yea he probably won't crack my starting lineup even though my league is deep, but he makes good trade bait so I had to scoop him up.

Best lead blocker on the team. Pretty much a non-threat with the ball.
Guess it's not a Le'Ron McClain situation then. Either way thanks for the info.

This really isn't much of a surprise. Raheem knows Caddy is back, and showing the same explosiveness as in his rookie year. Not to mention he is a fan favorite that should motivate the team, and get the fans up for the Dallas game.

I have been saying it all off season that he was the only Bucs RB worth grabbing in fantasy, because he was the lowest rated with the most upside. Although, it's still going to be a RBBC. The Bucs have Ward locked up, so we might as well get some use out of Caddy before his contract is up.

Askew can catch the ball pretty well, but like Capella said, he's a non-factor running. By keeping 4 RBs, and only FB it's apparent Graham will be relied on as a FB. I still think he is the best GL back on the team, and I expect Raheem to give him chances since he it's looking like Caddy/Ward 1 & 2. I personally think smaller quicker backs are better with the new zone blocking scheme, anc Clifton could even bite into carries.

What should Cadillac's ADP be now with this news? Higher than Ward?

And what "tier" should he be placed in?

Is he an RB2, RB3, RB4??

I guess it remains to be seen how much of the pie Caddy gets, but I don't know how you can't root for this guy after what he's gone through over and over again.

I hope he is back. He certainly has worked harder than anyone I can remember to get back, but you can put me firmly in the skeptic column here. If he is the starter (and not just by name only) and gets significant workload, I believe he will breakdown. Herniated disks are a chronic condition. They don't improve with more NFL hits.

so, Dodds, can you safely assume that Graham will still have a higher ADP than Caddy?

This is all really nifty for those of us that drafted him or picked him up as a free agent. But I have no plans of starting him any time soon and I can tell you he's currently on my trading block. I love Tampa's offensive line and think that the combined committee of RBs will be very effective, but there's too much potential drama involved for me to want to go long on Caddy this year. I'll be looking to move him for the first good offer I get and I'll happily avoid the TB backfield.

The disks have never been a real problem for him, more of an annoyance. Those little patella tendon things have been the setbacks.I'm not sitting here saying he's going for 1400 yards this year, but when he's healthy, he's the #1.

I don't understand the question. I am guessing Caddy now starts getting drafted and both Ward and Graham slide down in ADP. This puts Graham on the radar for me in my high stakes leagues as I think this Caddy situation is not one that will continue all season long. Personally I think this is a feel good story where the person battled harder than anyone to stay in this league. And the team rightfully rewards him with a #1 on the depth chart and to be the starting back on the first play of the game. And maybe it's even a tad more than that. But after a few weeks of getting hit, I suspect this will be a RBBC of Graham and Ward with just a little bit of Caddy each week. Again that's just my outsider's take. Lot's of Tampa guys here are convinced he is all the way back. And as a fan of the NFL, I hope I am 100% wrong here and Williams returns to the guy we saw before the injuries started to mount. No one is questioning this man's heart at all. He is a warrior in every sense of the word.

Williams isn't a bad player if you ask me, I knew that if they didn't make him the official starter that he would be getting quite a bit of playing time.

So with this news and the fact that Jamal Lewis seems secure (for now) in Cleveland, my question is who to roster? James Davis and wait for Jamal to breakdown OR pick up Caddy off the waivers. Note that Ernest Graham is currently my RB4.

I added him and dropped a late round WR. What do you have to lose? If he's available on your WW, grab him.

I'm right there with Capella and Quez, he is the best back the Bucs have. IF he doesn't get hurt, and that's a big if I believe 1000 yards and 8 TDs are possible with 20 catches for another TD. However, that still isn't much for a starting FFL RB.

Thoughts on B.J. Askew?
Best lead blocker on the team. Pretty much a non-threat with the ball.
He was quick and decisive with the ball at michigan. And ran with power. Don't write him off just yet.he also is Michigans all time leading receiver among running backs.

This must be Matt Millen talking.Trust me, you can write off BJ Askew for FFL purposes.

Any prediction on carries Week 1? 5101520+?????????
My thoughts, about 13 carries and he's an RB3 with RB1 potential on any given Sunday if he's healthy, and yes I have him on my team in a 14-team league where I neglected drafting RB's, so I'm certainly biased in my opinion!

My question is what is the deal with Derrick Ward? Is he not living up to the hype? He performed well in NY, and TB rewarded him with a nice contract, only to relegate him to RBBC?

Is he proving to have been a product of NYG's OLine? Is he not looking good in camp or something? It seems like his stock has done nothing but fall since being signed by the Buccs

Wow I was asking about B.J. Askew in terms of his reliability as a blocking FB. Obviously if Graham were to move to FB, even if part time, this would significantly increase the other two RBs value.

Caddy is no more than a deep league BYE fill in for me, potential flex starter if his chips fall right. Maybe a matchup play although I know TB has a horrible schedule for RBs. I'm still trying to deal him to the devastated Derrick Ward owner tho haha
