Zack Diles wins W-LB job?!? (1 Viewer)

After all the talk of him being in contention for the strong-side LB, it seems that Diles has managed to gain the starting job at Weakside for week 1. I rode him HARD last season until he got hurt, and he tore it up on the Strong side. Could he be even better on the weak-side?

Last year while listed as a SLB he really played so form of defensive rover. Also, Ryans was never healthy. The Texans defense is running more aggressive set using both the 4-3 under and 46 quite a bit in the preseason. As of now i would find it difficult Diles to repeat last year as the neither front appears as OLB friendly. During the dress rehersal 3rd game everything was being funneled to a healthy Ryans, but Diles was playing SLB in that one.

Hmm...who would you suggest starting between Diles, Clint Session, and Derrick Johnson for my LB4, then?

I was going to start Derrick, no ? asked, but was a little worried after reading that other thread on here that said he was currently not even listed as the starter in KC.

My other starting LBs are:

LB1 - Beason

LB2 - Crowder

LB3 - Merriman

I just am so torn at LB4. Session can put up some stats and is facing the Jaguars, who should be running a lot, but if Johnson starts at ILB for KC, he should rack up the tackles. And I was a bit enamored with Diles from last season, and the thought of him at a generally better position for IDP stats had me salivating. I am stuck!

I would post this in the Assistant coach forum, but I have a feeling that there will be better IDP advice in here.

EDIT: This is a relatively Tackle-heavy league, with 2/1 points for solo/assist.

Session but stay open minded week to week. Don't touch Johnson until you know his role.

Unfortunately, if everyone did this, the news and notes threads would be mostly advice requests and difficult to follow. That's why we made the decision to separate the forums two seasons ago. Thanks.
