Calling it now: the Saints are going to the Superbowl (1 Viewer)

Sometimes you just get a feeling after watching a team for a little while. These guys are an offensive juggernaut. They are the Patriots of 2 years ago, the Rams of 10 years ago. Their defense is not great, but who cares? They're going to put up so many points every game they will be very difficult to beat. Get ready to rejoice, all you long suffering New Orleans fans. This is finally your year.

The saints are looking like the Rams, Colts, and NE when they had monster offensive seasons....unfortunately they ran out of gas in the playoffs/Super Bowl.

problem is, they play indoors. if they get homefield through out the playoffs, i am right with you.

if they have to go play someone in the elements, its over.

ditto for Atlanta, who looks very good, and minnesota. only 2 domers haver done it, rams and colts. then again, if atl, minn, NO are in the championship game, they wont have to worry about the outdoors anywhere they play

I was thinking of starting a thread that reads: Calling it now: the Saints aren't going to the Super Bowl.

Field>>>>Saints

Tim, they played the Lions and the Eagles w/a backup QB who threw 3 INTs. Please just stop this nonsense.
I don't think Kolb looked terrible. And anyhow, they played a very good defense today and moved the ball right down the field several times, which had nothing to do with Kolb. If you don't think this offense is special, I don't know what you're looking at.

:goodposting: 93 points in their first two games. Go out on a limb there, Wild Man.J

Late season road games: St. Louis, Tampa, Washington, Atlanta, Carolina. :goodposting:

First, they didn't have 93 points when I wrote the post. Second, I don't think too many people are seeing the Saints in the SB at this point. But if they are, great. I'm not trying to make a wild claim here, just to be different. I'm simply writing what I think. Certainly a lot of people will be riding this bandwagon now.

The Saints honestly didn't impress me that much....Eagles played like absolute ####, they would have lost to the Lions with all the mistakes they made. I would wager a lot that the Saints don't even make the Super Bowl...

Wait and see what the Jets do to them in week 4
Looking like an early candidate for game of the year. Could be best O vs. best D.
:goodposting: I've been a Saints fan as long as Chuck Muncie's been wearing glasses, and I'm excited about this game too.Saints are going to have trouble when they run into a team that can put pressure with just a front four, daring the Saints to run the ball...Jets might be that team.

They shredded Detroit and Philly so far...let me see them against Atlanta, NY Giants, and Minnesota before we annoint them SuperBowl contenders. But they are off to a good start, that's a great thing for them. I'm happy for their fans especially.

I came in to post the same thing. It takes big ones to call for the team who has looked unstoppable after 2 games to go to the Super Bowl after seeing the first 2 games. Try making this call a little sooner next time. Like say before the season starts.

Their offense looks great, but not really sold on their defense yet. They seem to be a solid playoff contender but not really superbowl bound.

Today's game said more about the ineptitude of the Eagles than it did about the fortitude of the Saints.

You'd have had greater success if you had titled this thread "The Eagles won't go to the Super Bowl" rather than the choice you made.

On defense, the Eagles LBs are subpar and they miss Brian Dawkins greatly in the secondary.

All you have to do is listen for the crickets at the Link. All's quite in Philly.

Way to really go out on a limb in week 2 after the team has 2 big games. :wall:

Didn't get to see the game today - did Lance Moore even play? Not in the injury report, and got a big zero. What happened?

Half of you don't think it's going to happen, and the other half are ripping me for not going out on a limb. LOL! Look, I didn't start this thread to get credit for making some great pick. I don't WANT credit, and I don't deserve it. Maybe if I had picked the Saints going into the season, I might have deserved credit, but frankly I'm not smart enough to do that. All I'm doing is giving my honest opinion based on what I'm seeing now.

Maybe this just isn't the right forum for you.

In order to compete with the Saints you have to be able to have some offense. 21 of the Saints points were directly created by turnovers. A INT for a TD, a special teams fumble inside the 40 and an INT inside the 40. The Saints would be unstoppable if they were facing QBs making their first starts every game. Wait until they face a team with a competent QB and a manageable defense. For me, everyone is responsible for the Eagles losing. Kolb played alright but he can't make those kind of mistakes.

Someone in this thread says the eagle defense ius not that good. It looked damn good last week against Carolina. Someone in this thread says the Saints defense is not that good. The Colts and Rams won Super Bowls with great offenses and decent defenses. The key for this team was the addition of Greg Williams. he added an attacking ball hawk mentality. The Saints stripped the ball on the kick off. The turnoiver was caused. The first interception was a great defensive call. Maybe the Saints defense gets better once it learns the scheme. It looks more than adequate at this point. It is too early to say how good any team will be at the end of the year. Right now, the Saints will be favored in most of their games. They have the best offense and only need a defense that create a few turnovers in order for them to be hard to beat. So far they have done that.

LOL leave it to a cowboys fan to hijack a SAINTS thread and make it about eagles . Good luck tonight w the giants

As a fan, I have certainly enjoyed the first two wins. But, the Eagles still moved the ball and Kold did throw for over 300 yards. We will have a better feel for the Saints after the Jets and Giants game.

The FFA isnt the right forum for him either, but he's in there alot.

 I definitely want to hold off and see more against more solid opponents. It was interesting over the past week, though, how many Eagles fans in the Shark Pool were completely discounting the Saints' chances in Philly.

Jets @ Saints in two weeks will be a war. The Saints owe the Jets for that 2001 game in the Dome when the Saints were on their way to a nice season -- and then Kyle Turley lost it, threw a helmet, and pushed the first domino that led to a deflating Saints loss.

So are all of the people that are giving the OP a hard time about this thread agreeing with him that it is a foregone conclusion that the Saints are going to the Superbowl?

No we are saying of the 32 teams they obviously look the best after 2 games.

Okay. He is predicting that they will go to the Superbowl from the NFC after seeing 2 weeks of ball. Why does that make you so angry?

So what? When exactly did it became lame to give an opinion based on evidence that was "obvious"? I'm not going to brag at the end of the year if I'm right, because I don't have a crystal ball and I'm not smarter than anyone else here. I'm just saying they look like the best team and I think they will represent the NFC in the SB. This is not yet a majority opinion, but even if it was, again, so what?

:football: Not sure why Joe allows him to piss in the shark pool like this. I come here for info, not for Timschochet threads.

The Saints have certainly taken a step in the right direction. I would like to see more of the season before making SB predictions. I certainly cant complain about the start they are off to.

I don't know what you are talking about. I'm not angry. Are you angry because you think people are angry? :football: Nevermind lol.
