what have you thought of busing? i've come away with the impression that he's very serviceable. plus you gotta love a white safety.Has potential, but will probably take a couple of weeks to overtake the Bussing/Ferguson/Barber mess the Texans have at SS. From a fantasy perspective, it would depend on the depth of the league. I would rather a guy I am going to get production out of instead of a spot waiting for him.
Pollard would make a good run stopping hammer. They will try and expose him in the passing game though.jsharlan said:The fans love Busing, but I dont know if hes a long term starter. Barber has been under preforming alot, so the opportunity for Pollard is def. there.
My iniital guess is not much maybe slightly negative.Eugene Wilson.Does this affect him any way?
Look for pollard two start playing on first and second downs to stop the run like Dawkins or Adrian Wilson. But for third downs look for busing for passing downs untill pollard can prove he can play the pass.My iniital guess is not much maybe slightly negative.Eugene Wilson.Does this affect him any way?
From the blogger Texans | Pollard to start Week 4 Thu Oct 1, 06:27 PMHouston Texans SS Bernard Pollard will start at safety opposite FS Eugene Wilson in Week 4.Rotoworld was reporting that Pollard was taking first team reps. Anyone hear if he was starting this week?
Yes he is. Isn't that why they signed Pollard?FrostBite said:If Busing is number 40.. he's terrible.
He did not stand out in my mind, but that is good considering the Texans safeties have been standing out for the wrong reasons. he will continue to start as long as the defense plays well. At his press conference, Kubiak hinted that against teams which spread the field like Arizona does, Pollard will not play as much.Anybody see how he played this week? He only had five tackles, but a) this was still good for second on the team and b) the Texans only faced 34 plays that ended in a tackle. Given the league average of around 45 plays, that projects to 6.6 tackles--not too shabby (it would put him at 105.6 for the season--good enough for #4 safety in the NFL last year after Wilson, Weddle, and Bell). He may face a tougher matchup this week at Arizona and I wondered if anyone saw the game and could comment. In the DFW area we usually get Houston but did not this week. Thanks!
Note: the texans coverage here is spotty, so there is a group of Texans fans who meet at a sports bar every week. If you are ever interested in watcing with us (although you are the enemy) PM.on if he feels good enough about S Eugene Wilson that he is not worried about maybe having three safeties going to Arizona) "Yeah, I'm OK. I'm hopeful that Eugene will be fine this week. You have to remember, we still have four because we have five on the roster, so if Eugene comes back, if Eugene's fine, then we've got (SS Bernard) Pollard, we've got (Dominique) Barber and we've got (FS John) Busing. So we're one heavy at safety right now on the roster, so I would still feel OK."(on if SS Bernard Pollard is better suited as a run stopper) "Well, I think what you're asking me is yeah, this team can spread you out. There's a way that they can get safeties off the field, if that's where you're heading. So yeah, obviously a different task this week of how we're going to be attacked."

LOL! So you are in the DFW area? I am in Fort Worth and, yes, I am the enemy--a lifelong Colts fan going back to Johnny U at Baltimore. However, I cannot cheer for Dallas as long as Jerry Jones is there, so I actually pull for Houston--except for two games a year!Note: the texans coverage here is spotty, so there is a group of Texans fans who meet at a sports bar every week. I am in Arlington and I bet that if the Texans were ever a real threat you would stop pulling for us at all.LOL! So you are in the DFW area?
