Kory Sheets (1 Viewer)

I'm not buying into the Lex Hilliard hype machine.

I actually believe Kory Sheets is the RB to own in MIA, and not Lex Hilliard. Hilliard is carry 240lbs, I think he's built more like a FB and won't have the elusiveness that Sheets possesses.

I'm picking Kory Sheets as the RB who emerges to become Ricky's RB partner.

There's a whole lot of crazy going about.

Why do you believe Sheets will take over for Hilliard? What do you feel makes him a better fit for a between the tackles rb vs. a 235 pound guy? 4.6 isn't bad speed for a guy Hilliard's size.

And how soon do you think Sheets would take over? You think he could leapfrog him in one game? 5 games?

Call me crazy too... but I'm not picking up any of these Miami backs. Everyone is acting like they are trying to figure out who Ronnie Brown's handcuff is. In reality everyone is frenetic about trying to figure out who Ronnie Brown's handuff's handcuff is.

I guess we will know tomorrow night what the deal is, but I don't see why people think it won't be Ricky with upwards of 20 carries per game and Pat White running the wildcat. This seems obvious to me, but I've been wrong before.... but it was a long ### time ago.

I think by the end of the season Kory Sheets will be the main backup to Ricky. Plain and simple. He more of a slash runner, and he has more lateral movement.I drafted him in all my leagues, let him go, and I'm looking to add him back onto my rosters. In the end it's a gut feel on my part, plus it's some competition for the other "Call me crazy" thread. :hey:

I appreciate threads of this nature, so I'm glad you've gone a bit crazy.

I just wonder how long it will take Sheets to start taking any meaningful number of carries.

you may be right cc, but im thinking we'll need to wait a couple of weeks for this to be settled. imo hilliard is first in line to see action, so i dont know if we'll get a good look at sheets thursday. hilliard was already on this team at the start of the season. sheets was signed off of the SF practice squad after cobbs went out. now i could be mistaken, but i would think they'd give hilliard the majority of the 2nd back work this week or would intend to. if he comes out big and does well, we may never get a good look at sheets. if he stumbles and fails miserably, sheets is the next in line and you may be correct.

either way, one of these guys could potentially be a great pickup. ricky is playing great this year and is staying fresh while in a rbbc. the reason hes playing so well could arguably be because he is staying fresh and one could say it's likely they want to stick with the rbbc. who will be the second back in that rbbc?? i hope for anyone with some stock in this matter that it isnt pat white. call me crazy...

**edit - walked away from the pc for a bit without refreshing and missed your dystanty comment. ^^doesn't really apply, mybad**

Ricky Williams is going to stud it the rest of the year. His backups are going to be riding the bench.
Ricky was a stud when sharing the duties with Ronnie. How will he do without a solid running mate and increased work load? I don't think Miami will run him into the ground and risk his status also. He might excel for a game or 2, but then the wear & tear would eat into his health & habits. He won't last the rest of the season as a RB1 getting 25+ touches a game. He just can't handle it without expecting some serious consequences..... not just injury either. Fumbles, loss of burst, fatigue, over use will eat him up!

I get the injury part (increased carries leads to increase injury risk - for everyone) but not the rest. How is fatigue going to occur? Do you not think that a week of rest between games is enough? I could buy fatigue during the games. But, it looks like he can handle that just fine. He had 22 touches last game and had a 27 yard run on the 22nd touch. He didn't look fatigued.
