Game Thread W11 - Indianapolis V Houston (1 Viewer)

Anyone watch Fantasy Now on ESPN? I missed most of it but heard that Ed Werder mentioned something about how the Texans run game will be used today? Anyone catch it??

First down and goal, and Slaton's in the backfield. Good sign for Slaton owners. If not for a false start penalty, he likely would have had a TD.

I think the rest of the year will be Slaton and Brown about 70-30, with Moats basically forgotten. Steve Slaton will run and catch the ball, be a pivotal part of the offense, and the RB1 all of us were expecting when we drafted him.

Or is this just wishful thinking on my part?

Manning is getting hit and facing pressure. Cushing just intercepted him because the dline hit him as he threw the ball.

Texans are looking good right now.

AJ TD catch/incompletion under review.

That should be a touchdown for Andre Johnson (who is not on any of my teams), but given the NFL stupid rules, it probably won't be.

Has to be enough evidence to overturn the ruling. Ruling is incomplete pass. He has to maintain full control after coming down on the ground.

And here is this week's wasted challenge of the week on the same rule that gets challenged every week and is always upheld.

Wait a second....why does Houston get to keep the ball on the roughing-the-passer penalty? Wasn't there a similar situation a few weeks ago when the offense got to keep the ball after an interception?

edit: Week 6, Giants vs. Saints. Eli Manning throws an interception, but the Saints are called for Roughing The Passer. Giants keep the ball.

WTF?!

If they pull this no total control until he finishes going to the ground and don't call this a TD, I just can't understand this rule. To me, if that had taken place on any other part of the field, it would be a catch and a fumble. But in the endzone, when the catch is made it's a TD no matter what happens after that.

It was after the INT when AntSmith leveled Dallas Clark.

The Texans of old would have given up after that Monday night loss. These Texans are playing with fire in their hearts today.

It was not roughing the passer it was called against dallas clark on the return. If it was roughing the passer it would have been Colts ball.

Terrible call.
It was clearly not posession "through" the ground. His feet hit 1st, but as soon as his body hit, the ball came loose. What's not to get? :whoosh:
He caught the ball and had two feet down with possession. That should be a catch and a touchdown. I know that it is not a catch according to the rules, but like I said, that is a stupid rule.

Even if you go back a couple years, and it was the the "two feet down & a football move" it wasn't a catch. When the 1st thing you do after catching a ball is dropping a ball, that's not usually a catch.

Agree it's a stupid rule application. Also agree it's a correct call by the rules.

I have no problem with the rule. If it was a catch then when players dive for a catch in the middle of the field and hit the ground and the ball pops out it would have to be a fumble.

I don't think the "football move" thing was ever a part of the rule, was it? I think it was just something people like Joe Theismann used to try to explain it.

Big difference between diving for a ball in mid-air and then losing the ball when hitting the ground, and catching the ball and getting two feet down.

All Slaton owners can hope for is Chris Brown getting hurt like he always does.

It was unnecessary roughness on Houston.
