FBG idea recommendation (1 Viewer)

The site is awesome. The software and tools are awesome. Lots of things are able to be personalized. So, here is my idea.

Is there a way to enter a list of your own players or select players from a master list that you want to get specific updates on (particularly active/inactive status on Sunday mornings)? For those of us in multiple leagues, it can sometimes be difficult when time is short to follow a list of players whether or not they are active, look to be limited, etc. If it can be inputted into the system by FBG when the actives/inactives come out (which there's usually a thread anyway), then an automatic email for the players you selected to follow would be sent. Thus, it's easier to go back and take out inactive guys. Not to mention this list could be submitted by us ahead of time. This would be a vast improvement from just getting a generic email with every player listed and having to search through each one then figuring out whether you've caught all of your players.

Is this feasible? It doesn't seem like it would take too much work once it was set up. Most of the work would simply come from one staff member putting check boxes next to each player listed as inactive. Once that's done, the email can be generated and would be a fantastic tool, IMO.

Thoughts?

I'm not sure if it will work or not, but it sounds like a good idea.

At the end of the season, there is a thread for suggestions to improve the site. When that thread is started, you should post this there.

There is a page where you can track selected players. At first I too thot it a great thing. But actually I need scouting on players that are NOT on my roster. Need to know who to grab.

Would love to see a keeper/dynasty rebuilding article. Fourth year in a row losing in the superbowl.

You missed the point of what I was suggesting. I mean specifically to get active/inactive status emailed to you on gamedays for your personal list of players. That nas nothing to do with scouting or tracking players.

Sorry. I did. That would be a nice feature. Additionally I think it would make things easier for staff. They update the status on the "web app" and emails are generated in real time or at a time interval

( the subscribers choice. )

nice idea. Sorry.

I guess I wonder how long it actually takes to look at the "Carolina Inactives" list on the ONE page where they list everything and check on your guy/guys....not sure how much time you would be saving by then waiting on and opening up another email....

If you are in multiple leagues and have more than 1 guy you're looking for a status update, then this idea would be helpful. I stated as much in the OP. On any given week being in multiple leagues, I'm having to check the status on ~10 players. Not to mention that I'm getting an email already from FBG that has a complete active/inactive list. I don't need that full list. It would be much more helpful if I received the same email but it only had the 10 or so players that I need to know about. I can customize it, get the info, then make the changes as needed. If I'm not around on a Sunday morning, I can get the email on my phone and know if I have to try and make a roster change. Not everyone has time to scour FBG threads for who's starting or who's not or to look through an email and scan the active/inactives for all 32 teams. I can't even always remember who I'm looking for but if I can set it up before Sunday morning and simply select the players I need to get updates on, I wouldn't have to.Does it sound like I'm being lazy or asking a lot? Well, maybe, but it's just like many other things on this site. Not every tool or bit of data is for everyone but I'm quite sure this would be very useful for people in multiple leagues like myself.
