Went Tate, but it's a cluster**** right now. A lot will depend on combine and where players land for me.

I hate to say it, but if Toby Gerhart was black and put up those kind of numbers then he would be much higher on a lot of your guys lists.

Honestly think about it before you come back with a response.

Why?I'm all for the message in your post since I think it's stupid that every white guy is suddenly Ed McCaffrey (if they're tall), or Wes Welker (if they're short). I don't think this falls in line with Gerhart being a particularly great RB. Reminds me of Rueben Droughns or a less talented Brandon Jacobs.

I didn't say everybodys list. Just a lot of them. Of course there are people out there that can tell the difference between a RB who is talented and a RB who just put up great stats. But if a black RB put up over 1800 yds, 27 TD's and finished 2nd in the Heisman voting then you and I both know there would be a lot more people hyping this guy. You can't ingnore the production he has (unless of course that production comes from a white guy...)

I don't care what anyone says.........you are correct....and the thing is the NFL will look at him the same way......

Damian Williams, still.

If he goes behind Thomas and Benn in my drafts, I'll be very happy. Natural athleticism, elite route running, good character, great hands/rare drops, good run-after-catch, and a skilled punt returner. I heart this guy.

People want to make the Gerhart skepticism a race issue when it's really a football issue.

There are legitimate holes in his game. He offers very limited value as a pass catcher. He doesn't have a great speed, burst, or elusiveness. It doesn't matter what color his skin is. He's not a first round NFL RB. That doesn't mean he won't become a good pro, but it's pretty common to see backs of this sort fall well out of the first round.

Shonn Greene and Marion Barber were fantastic RBs in college, but they both slipped out of the first two rounds for similar reasons. For the record, I don't rate Gerhart as their equivalent. I'm just pointing out that two down power backs aren't what pro teams covet with their top 50 picks.

So what the heck happened to Montarrio Hardesty? A month ago he was a consensus 1.06 or 1.07 pick, and now he's not even on the list of 10 guys up for the 1.08 spot?

Nothing has changed with regards to him, so why has he fallen off the map as a prospect on this board?

I think people have probably realized that he's not a special player. I saw his bowl game and came away pretty underwhelmed. He looks like a pretty ho-hum prospect who will be relegated to a backup role in the NFL.

Tough call, it would probably be based on team needs.

I need a QB, I'm grabbing Bradford.

I need a RB, I take McNight if he lands in an ok spot.

I need a WR, I take Williams or Tate, depending on who ends up in a better spot.
