PPR Options (1 Viewer)

I am commish a Yahoo league and we are finally entering the modern era by transitioning to PPR this year.

Scoring has become too heavily skewed towards QBs (6-pt TD, 1pt/20yds, 0.5 per completion, -0.5 per incompleteion, penalties for INTs and sacks) and we are looking to dampen this effect by upgrading other skill position scoring.

Original proposal was for 1.0 per reception but people are concerned this rewards potentially ineffectual plays (e.g 3 late-game garbage dumpoffs could equate almost to a TD) and their is a counteproposal for 0.5.

It is also 7-man IDP if that impacts the decision at all.

Any feedback from those who faced a similar 0.5 vs. 1.0 PPR decision and what types of arguments ultimately carried the day? I've noticed both types scoring formats and was also curious if either is becoming the "standard."

Thanks.

We actually use .5 for RB's and WR's and 1.0 for TE's. It seems to work out pretty well. You may also want to discuss dropping QB points to 4 or 5 points for passing td's instead of 6. That will help bring the QB's back in line.

haven't played in full ppr, just half, and I like the half.

my suggestion is to go to a site like fftoday, or wherever, that allows you to input your own scoring system and get a player ranking back.

try the full ppr and the half and see how the player rankings come out.

the Footballguys.com Draft Dominator takes the rankings a step further with VBD applied. This will let you compare VBDs for each player across differing scoring systems.

I've played in both and prefer 0.5 PPR. 1.0 PPR just seems to give too much weight to meaningless plays.

I'd recommend having 0.5 PPR for WRs and TEs only -- RBs don't need the extra benefit.
