Shonn Greene owners (1 Viewer)

He's clearly the backup. He looked awful while LT looked like he was in his prime again. Not only that but he fumbled a couple of times. And dropped several passes.

Bust of the draft?

They benched him after the 2nd fumble. They'd be fools to not feed that guy. He's all they have.

The Jets players and coaches should be ashamed for that debacle tonight. Maybe the worst looking 1 pt. defeat in history. Should have known after watching Schottenheimer on Hard Knocks talking about giving his dad a superbowl ring. :lmao:

Didn't see the game, but obviously the stat lines don't look promising... at all. Sanchez looking bad, Tomlinson looking good, Greene fumbling... ughhhh

I would give it more time then week one to call busto. Bad week for him but he wasn't alone on that offense. LDT was good but definitely not "Wow look at him, he's back!"

I'm not one to panic with these things but he can't catch, fumbled twice and looked slow and indecisive. Sanchez is not helping, maybe it will get better against a defense not of the ilk of the Ravens, but this reaction is probably not an overreaction based on what we saw tonight. That was disastrous.

Shonn didn't "play like a Jet" tonight.

Guys. Shonn Green is the future for the club. They're going to wipe the slate clean in order to prepare for the next game. Green will get his shot again and he's got something to prove heading into week 2.

Damn, wasted high pick on him in the one league i got him. I see no way unless LT gets hurt that he goes for the 1400 yards i thought he would

Compared to Greene...LDT looked like, "he's back!"..........not sure that's saying a lot.I think every team they play will stack the box and make Dirty/Sucky Sanchez try to beat them through the air.

coaches dont trust greene- he was not in the red zone package even BEFORE he fumbled....that and hands of stone give you the lesser half of an RBBC for your 1st/2nd rd pick

watch the preseason and take LT in 8th/9th...the SHARK move

All the "now LT is back/Greene is a bust" hyperbole aside...this is the bigger issue. Sanchez with his checkdowns looks like he's having a major confidence issue, and if he can't correct it, LT is going to be the one in there for those receptions.

KiJana Carter was the future once too, guy.
Wow, that is a classic! I will say the problem isn't Greene, it is Sanchez; he isn't fooling anyone. I don't think that Holmes is going to solve it either. Real question is how many games does he start this year. Unless Sanchez picks it up, Greene is going to struggle; just like everyone else on the Jets (ok maybe not the defense).

Kellen Clemens better start paying attention at practice.

He was Benched for Fumbling, should be interesting what Rex says during the week.

I actually Benched him for Harrison in one league.. looks like a great move after tonight.

After last year's run, this team thinks they can win NOW. Especially after this week's loss, they are not worried about the future. LT led this team in every way tonight, including standing up to Lewis and others when they were talking trash. They need the veteran presence on offense. Those that think Green is in for 20+ carries week in and week out are in for a rude surprise. And with the fumbing, who do you think Rex is gonna trust in the red zone??? If LT stays healthy Green was worth nothing more than a 4th/5th rounder..Mayyyyyyybe late 3rd.

good gravy. a little over reaction i would say. it's one game against one of the elite defenses in the league. the game was close and greene had a fumble that was lost so LT was in the game more. LT will not last as a main ball carrier and the Jets should know this. Greene will bounce back.

I don't see how you can put him into your lineup next week if you have anything decent. And by anything decent I mean anyone who is a lock to get more than a handful of carries.

2 fumbles... 1 after he ran into his own o-lineman... ball just pops out...

Hands of stone screen pass drop was equally as bad, Sanchez can't throw a better ball than that.

Shonn Greene was never known as a pass catcher. I mean he had like 10 receptions total in college. Does the Jets coaching staff not know this? If they use him the same way as they do LT, he'll (Greene) look horrible.

14 penalties for 125 yards hurt them more than Sanchez. If they don't clean up on the penalties they can't expect to go far even if they do somehow make the playoffs.

I just wanna know if you're gonna un-bold him from your lineup. And I think I speak for everyone here when I say that.

If you can't catch a little flare pass, you don't belong as a starting RB in the NFL. He's not running HB posts or eight yard squares to the left sideline, it's a flare pass five yards from the QB. If the Jets can't count on him to execute that, guess where he's gonna be?

The thing about that play that stood out to me is that he had been seriously benched fir the majority of the second half up until then. LT rips off back to back great runs so he needs a breather. Greene gets his chance to help and immediately drops the ball. SUB. LT in immediately. Signed, excited LT owner.

greene was benched for fumbling. lt didnt get more carries bc of the gameplan or bc the coaches had planned to make him the lead back. so his situation isnt as bad as it looks, but it is disconcerting.

Unless ole Rex keeps giving each opponent bulletin board material. :own3d:

I think he's still their future, but as long as LT is running good - the future may not come quite as soon as people hoped. Until he gets his fumbling issues resolved, the coaches aren't going to trust him in a lot of situations.

On the few carries he had, I thought eh looked much faster than LT, and not only that, faster than last year. Biggest impact was the D, 2nd was their O being tighter than a nun on sunday.I hope Greene has a couple more bad games so I can target him

they did bring him back in in crunch time. he looked nervous. he then dropped a key pass and was benched again.

Y'all are micro-analyzing this ####. He's a fine running back. The fumbles, coupled with LT looking good, are the only issues. If Greene got 25 carreis a game he would be a super stud. But the bottom line is that with his fumbling issues and with another good back to share the load with, it only makes sense for the coach to limit Green's touches for now.

I saw the play. That was the only time he was on the field after the 2nd fumble. Not sure why they're trying to turn the guy into Brian Westbrook with all the screenpasses. Just let him pound it in between the tackles. The Jet offense with all of the movement and play changes before the snap...just ridiculous. I've never seen an offense make it so complicated before the snap the ball and then not even look like a high school offense after the snap. It was comedy. Enough with all of the movement. Even Gruden saying the o-linemen confused out there. Just be able to do the basics first before you start with the bells and whistles.

What game were you watching ? The sound you hear is SG's FF value circling the drain......bust.

I own Greene and LT. What I saw tonight was LT winning the starting job. I'd be shocked if Greene is the "starter" next week.

:D the one play in particular was late in the 4th Q, and they have LT banging left, right, all over the place..they take him out for a play and run a pass to Greene in the flat ( Sanchez checkdown?), and SG dropped it..well, why run Greene out there of you're going to pass to the RB, why not keep LT in the game?? then they switch and go back to LT for the very next play..
