Game Thread W3 - San Diego V Seattle (1 Viewer)

Dombrowski gave up a sack. Clemens just beat him on a speed rush around the corner.

I can't emphasize how stupid this "helmet off" rule is. It's completely unenforceable because the player whose helmet comes off is going to keep playing anyway. And right after Ian just said "It's a rule to protect the players", my brother yells "THEN HOW COME THE GUY WITH HIS HELMET ON IS THE ONE SCREAMING IN PAIN ON THE GROUND?!?"

ETA: Not unenforceable, because the rule can be enforced. What I mean is, it's irrelevant if the play is blown dead. As Tolbert proved. He spun off, and dove into the pile head-first. So the rule won't actually prevent injuries during those kind of plays, it'll just prevent yardage.

By the way, what's to stop a defensive player from throwing his helmet off during a scrum when the guy is fighting for extra yardage late? Probably pretty easy to do.

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!

Twice in on day, 2 teams screw up in the final seconds of the half and miss out on a guaranteed 3 points.

ha, bumbling and stumbling at the 1 before half to a 102 yd kick return right after half

Really, really happy to see Leon look good on that return

Lol I loved that exchange between Rivers and Gates across the field.

Rivers: That hit the ground? That hit the ground. You went like this (motions in complete). No? Don't go like this then (motions incomplete).

Mike, if you score here instead of Floyd and give me the win, I will call you Touchdown Tolbert forever and my league will never forget the greatest comeback ever.

how do they not give it to tolbert again on 2nd and goal when he's plowing over them? yes, i have tolbert, but with all the leagues i'm in i also have rivers and floyd

Touchdown Gates, called back; next play, touchdown Gates.

Two-point conversion to Naanee, called back: next play, two-point conversion to Naanee.

I really feel bad for Rivers. No defense, no special teams, no receivers. He has that miraculous drive and two point conversion to tie it up, and then they give it right back on a kick return on the next play.

Then he drives them right back downfield again, and back to back false starts screw them over. Two plays of unblocked players and now it's 4th down, which he throws a perfect TD pass on, but once again doesn't count because his waffling coach took too long to decide to go for it and caused a delay of game.
