Sorry if there is a thread started, I searched it out and did not see one. I got an alert saying Pierre Thomas suffered a potentially serious knee injury. Any more in depth news than this? Who to target on NO now?
Joe Bryant. On vacation with the family, came over my cell phone. I'm a little out of the loop here; just following up.he got hurt but went back in and ripped off a long catch and run...not sure where your getting your info
The almighty himself!he got hurt but went back in and ripped off a long catch and run...not sure where your getting your info
Hi Folks,
The game's still in progress so this is totally unofficial but wanted to let you know that Saints RB Pierre Thomas left the game with what looked to be possibly a serious leg injury. The Saints are obviously already thin there with Reggie Bush out.
The Saints recently added RB Ladell Betts and he's filling in now for Thomas. Keep this on your radar if Thomas is your guy or if you're in need of a RB.
Enjoy the rest of the games.

I agree that the email was timely and it did look like it could have been a nasty injury.I was disappointed with FBG that there wasn't another email that went out saying that Thomas was back in the game.BTW nothing wrong with the email cuz my 1st thought was it was a serious leg injury too.
it looked awful. i felt like moderated when i saw him back in the game.BTW nothing wrong with the email cuz my 1st thought was it was a serious leg injury too.
+1. He looked surprisingly well on that screen when he came back in. Didn't Ivory limp off too?BTW nothing wrong with the email cuz my 1st thought was it was a serious leg injury too.
Ivory's stat line from the game looked pretty sad.. Who all do they have on the roster? Anything after Betts and Ivory? Seems like they had another young back on the roster during preseason..Looked like high ankle sprain. When I saw the replay, my thought was he was done for at least a month. He came back in for a play, but I really doubt he plays next week. That looked like a significant sprain. I'd expect his ankle to balloon overnight. As for who to target? That's a tough one. My money would be on Betts at this point. Not impressed with what I have seen from Ivory.
Sure they would. Players go back in after injuring their ankles all of the time. Andre Johnson today and last week. I remember Gore doing it last year and there are a ton of other instances.BTW I didn't think ankle at first either. I thought he might have pulled a groin since he got stretched out but I could believe his ankle got turned when it got trapped behind him. Then again it could be nothing.I thought it looked bad too, but I don't remember thinking ankle at all......doesn't seem like they would send him back in to catch a 20 yard screen if it was a bum ankle either.
PJ Hill. Ended up on IR with a knee.Ivory showed plenty of promise during the preseason and he looked good on a couple carries earlier in the game. Problem was, when he got in the game it was just too obvious that they were going to run the ball. Payton should've mixed it up and threw a swing pass or something there.PT's injury was definitely an ankle, although it gave me flashbacks of Frank Gore's brutal ACL injury at Miami.Ivory's stat line from the game looked pretty sad.. well that settles that then 2 weeks it isBased on his grimace and limp I'd say it's at least two weeks. I remember when I had my grimace and limp and the doctor said it would take four weeks... but then again those types of injuries usually take less time to heal for a professional athlete.
whats a 3 week grimace look like ? or a one week grimace ? or a .....Based on his grimace and limp I'd say it's at least two weeks. Did all subscribers get an email on this. I didn't wondering if something is wrong.
No season ticket holder at the game making a non official observation. I would wait to hear official news before making any rash decisions.Did all subscribers get an email on this. I didn't wondering if something is wrong.![]()

Yup... I was thinking H.A.S. at LEAST. It looked pretty gruesome and he seemed to be in a ton of pain. I wasn't surprised to see the email from Joe... seeing Thomas back in the game was a shocker though.Looked like high ankle sprain. When I saw the replay, my thought was he was done for at least a month. He came back in for a play, but I really doubt he plays next week. That looked like a significant sprain. Post like this tend to come back and bite people in the you know what.As a PT owner, I just hope that's not the case this time. But maybe a recant on your part will send cosmic forces to help Thomas' ankle heal in time to score us points in week 4.Lock this.Non story. He played the rest of the game.Nothing to see here. Thank goodness.
one week for the grimace, one week for the limp. sounds right.well that settles that then 2 weeks it isBased on his grimace and limp I'd say it's at least two weeks. Right. You don't send an email out stating someone has left the game with a serious injury without being prepared to send another one updating his status if the person re-enters the game.I agree that the email was timely and it did look like it could have been a nasty injury.I was disappointed with FBG that there wasn't another email that went out saying that Thomas was back in the game.BTW nothing wrong with the email cuz my 1st thought was it was a serious leg injury too.
I disagree with the looking spry. He made a nice catch and run but I thought he looked uncomfortable at best.i too thought he had blown out his knee when i saw that play. was shocked he came back in. looked spry on the catch. seems all good at this point.
No. The email is borderline spam.Count me as one that thinks those type of emails aren't too valuable at all. Unless you're in a league that has open waivers during games. Undoubtedly much more is known after the game has ended to make appropriate decisions. If we used the Thomas injury as the benchmark, I don't see how there wouldn't be multiple emails on a weekly basis if this were to be a consistent service to FBG subscribers. Key FF players look to be seriously injured numerous times on a Sunday afternoon. Some of them go back in the game and do well. Many of them come out again with no ill effects from said play for their next game. And if the injury turned out to be serious, what exactly would be the shark move in the middle of the second half of a game.Do we really need emails chronicling all these?
Saw this on Rotoworld too but the actual article from the Times-Picayune is from last nite and seems to be making the assumption that because Thomas returned to the game he must be fine.I don't think that's a safe assumption and am still waiting for more info. I doubt Thomas practices on Wed. and there's good reason to worry that the ankle could be an issue moving forward.Pierre Thomas-RB- Saints Sep. 27 - 9:52 am et Pierre Thomas tweaked his ankle late in Sunday's loss to the Falcons.Thomas got his leg bent the wrong way at the tail end of regulation, but was able to return during the overtime period. It should not be an issue going forward. Thomas is a strong bet for 20 touches against the Panthers in Week 4.Source: New Orleans Times-Picayune
He looked like dog ####. Blech.Pierre did return to the game and busted a long screen pass, but then hobbled off the field immediately after and I don't think he returned. Ivory was also seen limping off a 2 plays before the missed FG in over time. I would think if Pierre is hurt Ivory is the guy to own, assuming he is healthy. But I would also expect to see some of Betts and more of Heath Evans

he definitely didn't endear himself after not converting on those 3rd and short downs.that said, he had his moments early. he's a hold for now.He looked like dog ####. Not good for the Saints.
http://www.nola.com/saints/index.ssf/2010/...etain_conf.htmlBut Coach Sean Payton said Monday the team still has confidence in Ivory, while at the same time acknowledging that depth at that position is a concern for the Saints and thus the organization is keeping an eye on other players who might become available.
"He's going to have to give us some good carries, here, he'll have to handle 7, 8, 10 carries a game," Payton said, noting the quandary the Saints face with Bush out. "Our confidence is high. He'll have an opportunity to do good things and I think he will.
I think Payton is smart enough to look at the entire body of Chris Ivory's work and not one lackluster performance coming off an injury. Also with Bush out and the unknowns surrounding PT's injury you would have to assume they need RB depth and especially if a decent back can be had for cheap. I dont expect them to make a trade for Lynch or anything that drastic though.coach-speak FWIW..
