Hillis added to injury report with thigh issue. (1 Viewer)

Was this injury sustained during the last game or at practice?
i've asked ms. cabot, but no reply as of yet (though, i don't necessarily expect one).i suspect it was a practice issue since he wasn't on there yesterday. of course, that's not good news.

Do players do interviews before or after practice?

The Cleveland Browns website posted an interview today with Peyton Hillis. If this was after practice today then he doesn't seem too concerned about the injury.

The interview starts off by Peyton talking about being a little sore and the body taking a little while to recover after games. The question he responded to was not posted.

It could be that the Browns just took it easy on him in practice today.

BTW, Hillis is scheduled to be on Jim Rome tomorrow.

He was limited , why is everyone acting as though he is out. Crazy.
I'm trying to figure the same thing out. Lots of players don't even practice during the week and still play on Sunday. Suddenly being added to the injury report as limited in practice means a guy is out indefinitely.
It can mean different things when a guy is added to the list. Maybe they just went light on him or maybe he got hurt in practice. If he got hurt in practice and had to leave practice they would still mark him as limited for today.Real test is tomorrow's injury list. If he is out of practice tomorrow then it would be a major concern. However, from what I have been able to gather so far this doesn't appear to be the case here.Hillis just tweeted that he has a good feeling about the game this week.

I am backing way off of Hillis personally. I think he's headed from savior to flash in the pan simply due to injury risk. Thing is, this is not a good team so this doesn't mean Harrison, Davis, etc would actually be studs if Hillis ever does miss time. The way RB's are dropping this year I'm going to assume everyone good is about to get hurt.

(Rotoworld) ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that Browns RB Peyton Hillis (thigh), added to the injury report Thursday, is in no danger of missing this week's game. Analysis: "Not considered serious ... leg muscle strain," tweeted Schefter. "Good by Sunday." Hillis indicated earlier in the day that it normally takes him until Saturday to get back to full health after the pounding of 20+ touches. He's still a RB2 for Sunday's matchup against Atlanta.

This is so weird. In the preseason everyone was on Harrison's jock because they thought he'd get 38 carries a game and 102 yards, but now that a big guy who is actually built to take a lickin and keep on tickin is in Harrison's late season role everyone is saying he's destined to get injured. What gives?
It's the difference between owning Hillis and wishing they owned Hillis. People who own him expect to either trade him for RB1/RB2 value or they're better off keeping him, and people who don't own him and can't acquire him play the "he'll get hurt" card because there's no fault to be found with his role or his production. He's a big boy who runs hard, and he could get hurt. So could every RB. But as long as he's in there, he'll get the goal line carries, receptions, and a majority of the carries, and there are very few RBs in the NFL that can apply to. Having a good offensive line is just a bonus.

Injury or not, it doesn't matter-

You can't stop Peyton Hillis. Can only hope to contain him.

(non owner)

Jonathan Joseph has been limited and Roy Williams hasn't been practicing because of the punishment they took from Hillis on Sunday :censored:

He's listed as questionable on the injury report. It sounds like he will play, but Hillis owners should check his status Sunday morning just in case.

Based on what do you predict this? Is it based on that the guy in your league will not trade him to you?

Hype is getting out of control. I predict he severely disappoints this weekend.
Fair question but is that last bit really necessary.Anyway, I'm basing it on

1. gut feeling

2. big bruiser type that invites contact

3. ypc declined from week 3 (6.5) to week 4 (3.8) which I think is indicative of defenses having more film on him

4. Tightening up this week which is typical of a RB who has never carried a heavy load before, and provides ample justification to lighten it a bit

Everyone said this after the Ravens game too and he ended up with 100 and a Td last week. If someone says it EVERY week it'll happen. FYI, Chris Johnson has also disappointed on more than one occassion this year already, it happens even to the best of them. So yes, he may not go off this week, but what does that prove, that he's human?

Have you something to back this up with? #4 is my query.I want to add that 3 1/2 weeks isn't actually a heavy load, plus he did tote it a bit in Denver if I recall correctly.

Word around here is Harrison's going to get in for a series or two in the first half, if he's playing well then Mangini will go from there but still giving Hillis the majority (75%?) of the snaps. If Harrison doesn't play well then Hillis gets the full load as long as his thigh allows.

Thanks for this

Well I caved and dealt Hightower to the Wells owner, swapped McGahee for Harrison for protection, and also picked up Harvin for SSmith (angry version) to restock my WR depth for run in a 14 x 20 dynasty league all in one trade. I also picked up Hardesty so my bets are hedged owning all 3 and being able to IR Hardesty.

Is anyone else concerened about starting Hillis? Stephania Bell was talking about the injury on ESPN2 and she said it's the same thigh that had a serious injury on in college and the same leg from his hamstring injury. She specultated that if he got tight in the game they may sit him in favor of Harrison and Davis, much like when he got tight in practice on Thursday and sat out Friday.

I've got some solid players that I can swap in but I like his chances of 100+ total yards and a TD this week if he plays the whole game.

They probably will spell him for Harrison a bit more today, but James Davis is inactive, so he's not an option today.

I think a lot of questions were answered today. Impressive performance, at least to me. Coming in and out of the game with the thigh bruise, still managing to be productive with about 80 yards and a very nice TD catch. Harrison was a complete nonfactor - ineffective when he was in and taking a seat to Hillis anytime Hillis was ready to go.

The guy he reminds of when watching him run is a young Jerome Bettis with better hands and a bit more agility. The way he looks for contact but still has the speed even at his size to hit the corner, and the way he always falls forward for an extra yard or three. He's obviously an extreme longshot to have a career remotely as productive as Bettis did (as anyone is), but he can play hurt and still be productive, and he plays for a team that values that type of runner, especially later in the year when the weather gets bad.

His value is very high for this season, but he may not be a one year wonder.

But...but...Bettis isn't white.
