I was younger but I remember when the Lions played the Rams in 2001, just because its been a while for the Lie-downs.

Also in 2003 when Favre went ape ish against the Raiders after his dad died.

This one has many great story lines heading in, I belive if Favre has a great game or hits Moss a couple times and win, they will talk about this for a long while.

This MAY not have been a Monday night game, but I remember it as one. Tampa Bay vs. Indianapolis, the year after the Bucs won the Super Bowl. The Colts made an insane comeback to win.

Missed Fgs, and TB fumbles, Indy recovers, they fumble McCardell returns the fumble for a TB TD...I remember, lol---cost me in some leagues.

Gotta be that stupid comeback by the stupid Jets in the stupid year 2000.

That's my pick.

October 17, 1994 Elway vs. Montana (KC 31 Denver 28). Hands down best MNF game ever.

http://espn.go.com/abcsports/mnf/s/greates...denver1994.html

It was the ultimate battle between two of the game's all-time greats. NFL enthusiasts could debate for hours who was the better quarterback, John Elway or Joe Montana, and on the night of Oct. 17, 1994, they would have gotten their money's worth.

Montana, in the twilight of his career, headed to Kansas City in 1993 after losing his job in San Francisco to Steve Young. In his first season with the Chiefs, he guided them to an 11-5 record and a spot in the AFC championship game. In '94, the three-time Super Bowl MVP led K.C. to the playoffs again in what proved to be his final season.

Meanwhile, Elway entered their '94 meeting without a Super Bowl ring. Deep in the back of his mind, he could remember when Montana and Co. blew him out in Super Bowl XXIV. That night in the 55-10 rout, Montana threw five touchdown passes whereas Elway was picked off twice.

Both were up to the challenge for their final showdown on Monday Night Football.

The game went back-and-forth all night with neither team gaining a true advantage. It was tied 7-7 after one quarter, 14-14 at halftime and 21-21 as they entered the fourth quarter. Neither quarterback blinked.

"Those kind of battles you get in are the fun games for a quarterback," Montana recalls. "You're going against the guy that can, you know if you let him back on the field, he'll do the same thing back to you."

The game remained tied until Lin Elliott kicked a 19-yard field goal with 4:08 to go to give the Chiefs a 24-21 lead.

Elway, who had negotiated six Broncos comebacks against the Chiefs already in his career, had the Broncos in line for another one until Shannon Sharpe fumbled on the Chiefs' 40 with just 2:45 to go.

Inexplicably, Marcus Allen handed the ball back over to Denver on the very next play.

This time, no one could deny Elway. On a classic Elway drive, he led the Broncos 39 yards on six plays, finishing it off himself with a 4-yard touchdown run to give them a 28-24 lead with just 1:29 left.

But it was more than enough time for Montana.

Even though a sore shoulder forced him to miss significant practice time during the week, the 38-year-old was near flawless in his execution of the two-minute drill, completing 7-of-8 passes as he moved them 75 yards on nine plays.

The Broncos had been given Montana the underneath throws and he worked it precisely, going perfect on the final four plays, 11 yards to Kimble Anders, 12 yards to Derrick Walker, 19 yards to Tracy Greene and then a five-yarder to Willie Davis as Davis extended his arms at the goal line before reaching the pylon for a touchdown.

"He makes a great catch, squeezes it in the end zone, and, and it was right in front of my wife and daughter who happened to be on the field," recalls Montana, who finished the night 34-for-54 for 393 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT. "She was working for one of the TV stations there, and I kind of knew in the back of my mind that it was closing in on the end of my career, and to be able to do that and have them there was pretty special."

And to make it even more special for Montana, it left just eight seconds on the clock, not even enough time for Captain Comeback to lead the Broncos one more time.

"That's how everybody feels with John," Montana says. "You can't afford to give a player that relishes being in that time of the game any time on the clock. And the best thing you can see is when it says zero, because then you know, even if he's got the ball in his hand, he can't do anything with it."

The same could be said if the ball was in Montana's hands. On that night, Denver was unable to.

There can be no other pick. Not even Jerry Rice carving up the Raiders in a record breaking performance.

San Diego and Miami. I forget the year, just remember Kellen Wislow's heroics.
That was not a Monday Night game, it was a playoff game. For me it was the Miracle at the Meadowlands. I was at the game (season ticket holder) with three of my buddies, one of which was an Eagles fan who was filling in for the real ticket holder. When the Jets were getting crushed and it was late he asked if we should leave. We said "no". After the game he thanked us for not agreeing to leave. As far as one's I've watched on TV - I'll go with the Packers-Broncos game a few years back where Favre threw a long TD to Jennings in OT to win the game.

During overtime of a Monday night game on November 6, 2000 despite bad weather conditions, Freeman caught what initially appeared to be an incomplete pass while lying on his back - the ball actually bounced off multiple parts of Freeman's body without hitting the ground. Untouched by the defender, Freeman jumped to his feet and ran the ball in for the winning touchdown over the rival Minnesota Vikings.

1983 - Packers 48, Redskins 47. Highest scoring MNF game ever.

I was 13 and right in my "prime" for being in the next generation of Packer fanatics. That night sealed it.

12/2/85 - Dolphins over Bears - the "unbeatable" '85 Bears meet Marino and he carves them for 270 yards and 3 TD's on Monday night.

Dang shame the Pats upset the Fins in the Conf. championship... that would've been by far a more memorable Super Bowl.

this was an amazing result also... never forget seeing that.

Um, I gotta go with the MNF game 4 years ago when they re-opened the Superdome. Saints vs Falcons? It was simply amazing.

For me it was the Sept. 5, 1983 Redskins/Cowboys matchup. Redskins were the defending Super Bowl champs and were facing the Cowboys at home. They dominated Dallas the first two quarters and went into halftime with a 23-3 lead and looked invincible (with the crowd at RFK giving them a standing ovation at the end of the half). Somehow, the Cowboys came back, and ended up winning a 31-30 thriller.

I'm a little biased toward defense and the Steelers, but the game that James Harrison played against the Ravens on MNF in 2007 is something I'll never forget. 9 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and an INT. The guy was unstoppable.

Not really a great game per se but I was at Packers v Redskins in 2001, right after 9/11. I was able to take my brother, an army vet. I still get goosebumps thinking about Chris Gizzi leading the team onto the field carrying the American flag. Lambeau Field was a bit dusty that evening.

My most memorable, as a kid, during my first year of really becoming a football fan and an Eagles fan...

1991: Eagles Vs Oilers (House of Pain Game)

I remember the Oilers had the number 1 offense in the league and the Eagles defense was the one of the most vicious in NFL history. I remember the Eagles defense just punishing the Oilers all game with one brutal hit after another and knocking several players out of the game.

The defense finished that year #1 against the rush, pass, and overall...and leading in sacks, fumble recoveries, and takeaways.

Too bad about the Kotite part at the end :bag:

don't remember the exact game or year, but i remember watching bo jackson just go off on a monday night. i remember just being awestruck by how much better he looked than everybody else. he played at a completely different speed than everybody else on the field.

Nice find, thanks. That brings back memories. I guess I was about 12 years old. And Kotite, I remember him getting trashed by the local media here on a daily basis. Buddy Ryan built that team for him and he was supposed to take it to the next level, but it never happened. But as an Eagles fan I've become used to coming up just a bit short. I'd love to rewatch some games from that season.

1973: Redskins beat the hated Cowboys.

Ken Houston grabs and tackles Walt Garrison on the 1 yard line to preserve a 14-7 victory in the last few seconds of the game! Garrison was already past Houston -- who had to grab Garrison from behind.

Without a doubt the best game ever. ESPN calls it classic - they are rightIn a snowstorm, at lambeau field. An insanely great game. Lynn Dickey, best passer the Packers have ever had, v. Joe Theisman.
That game wasn't in a snowstorm. The worst snowstorm game was on Dec. 1, 1985 against Tampa Bay. The Packers also played in snow on MNF at Denver on Oct. 15, 1984.

This would be mine as well, from a bias point of view.I also remember another great one... Miami 30 at Houston (Oilers) 35 in 1978. Earl Campbell runs for 199 yards and 4 TD's in the game that began the "Luv Ya Blue" era.

:wall: This was my first thought. I still remember being the the rec room of my freshman dorm when this game happened. Not sure I can say I recall where I was for any other MNF games.

This was the first one I thought of. It had a great story and I was going against Favre that night, so very much burned into my mind.

Lots of great MNF games mentioned.

I'll go with the Miami-Chicago game in 1985 (already mentioned).

The 17-0 Dolphins call it the 18th game, because it kept their unbeaten season just as it still is. The only one.

The biggest Monday night game I can ever remember was Giants vs. 49ers December 3, 1990. Both teams 10-1 and the clear class of the NFC. Second highest rated MNF game in history. The game itself wasn't the most exciting, but it was the biggest I can remember.

Bears @ Dolphins - 1985

Marino picks apart Chicago's D, and hangs the lone "L" on the best team I have personally ever seen.
The game I remember was 6 weeks earlier, also on Monday night. I had halfheartedly watched part of the first half with my dad, then I went into another room to play with my toys or something. I came back at halftime and my dad said, "Remember that great big lineman who blocked for Walter Payton on the first touchdown? Well, the Bears got the ball at the goal line again.........except this time they gave the ball to the lineman!! And he scored a touchdown!!"I think I was hooked on NFL football from that point forward.

If I could remember the password for my "Leapin' Simeon Rice" alias I'd have posted with it here.
