Didn't know that Jene, sorry. As a long time subscriber you would think I would have seen that at some point. If I overstepped boundaries please remove my post! Don't want to post things here that are subscriber material. Took me a bit to go through all the games.....

Absolutely not. Didn't mean for it to come off that way, just that we see it is vital matchup information, too. This is great information for the Forum regulars to see and a very welcome addition. You did the work, you should certainly feel free to post it here.

No surprise that players from the top 4 teams dominate the tackle leader board!

A whopping 81 assist tackles in this Redskins home game (including special teams assists).

I got credit for 2 assists for watching Addai get tackled. lol

James Laurinaitis: 12 career home games with 2 TOTAL assist tackles credited.

London Fletcher tonight: 7 assists in this home game lol

:lmao:

Great info here!!!

Definitely useful... and also explains how Tulluch could seem to be all over the field last week (@ Jax) and get so few tackles!!! I lost the game by the equivalent of 2 assisted tackled!

I will definitely use this info going forward whenever I need to make a tough decision.

Thanks! :towelwave:

Under the 2010 Tackle Ops tab (at the bottom of the sheet), you can scroll through tables for tackle ops, tackle ops allowed (by offense), tackles, assists, tackles allowed, assists allowed, and a few other pertinent tackle stats. The second column in each table has the average for all games played, the third and fourth columns have home and away averages and the next columns have each stat broken out weekly (with different shading for home and away numbers). Other tabs have offensive information broken down by week and similar tables for all the stats and metrics we follow for pass rush matchups.

In my view, this is precisely why assisted tackles should be a very small portion of league scoring systems. Our league, while certainly not perfect, gives a solo tackle three times the importance as an assist (3/4 point vs. 1/4 point). After reading this, perhaps that gap should be larger.

It is not so much the disparity across stadiums (as shown above) that is of concern. This is a problem but it can be somewhat controlled for [by drafting WAS players slightly higher, for example]. Of course, discerning such trends can be fool's errand given that they may change yearly with personnel changes in stats crews - not really something we should be wasting our time analyzing as fantasy managers, imo. Quantifying the impact of such trends can also be rather tedious -- after all, who wants to count all the games to be played in assist-friendly stadiums?

The real problem is that the disparity reflects the incredible subjectivity surrounding this statistic (even relative to other stats, like solo tackles). Something with such a large degree of subjectivity should not form the basis, or be a large component, of a fantasy scoring system. In my view, a player's performance should be valued as close as possible to objective standards [within reason], so that points are earned through merit displayed on the field rather than personal taste.

Of course, some may strangely value discordant scoring systems...

As I'm attempting to incorporate this into my WDIS analysis, using in part the Points Against By Position chart in MFL.com, I'm finding that this has less impact upon my decisions than I thought it would. For example, I'm having trouble with the idea that I'd start Quincy Black over Curtis Lofton based upon a matchup where they're 15 rankings apart from each other.

What %, for lack of a better term, of your WDIS decision making incorporates this analysis? For me, though I take it into consideration, it's far less than 50%.

I personally follow the fantasy football golden rule of "never bench your studs." For me, Lofton qualifies as a stud and therefore gets the start over Black no matter the matchup.

The Ravens home scorekeeper has become more stingy as the season as worn on.

Ravens had just 7 assists as a team.

But the Scorekeeper seems less stingy for the visiting team but was still just 14 assists. So 21 total for both teams.

Through 4 home games Ray Lewis has 7 assist tackles.

Anyone have updated numbers for this?I just noticed that Jerod Mayo has 31 assists in 6 home games, but just 19 in 7 away games.

N.E. is one of the top local's for scoring assist's, probably in the top 10-15%.

Mayo's assist total in his 8 home games this year would typically lead the NFL in assists most seasons for all 16 games. (On pace for about 45)

Buffalo, Washington, and New England are best locations for assists. Guys have been getting them all season for breathing on running backs.

It isn't a complete game changing utility, but it does help when you are having a tough time in picking who to start between 2 LBs that have similar stats/match-ups. It can also come into play on draft day when you are trying to decide between a couple of players that you like. Like I said, it is something I have been doing for years and it has helped out a bit through the season. As long as FBGs doesn't mind, I will go over the stats for this year and update it. Ill bring it back to life next year and keep it updated if the majority here wants it.

One thing I have noticed is that some stadium stat keepers are stingy with the road team and very generous with their hometown players.

For example, tonight the Pats of 16 assists and the Packers 4.

I think that was more a result of the way the game went and the 2/1 time of possession edge for G.B..

Does the tackle opps for San Fran negate the negative effect of St. Louis home score keeper this week?

After going through this thread again and after watching tons of games again this season, I would have to say this was one of the worst scored IDP seasons I have ever seen.

Between the phantom James Harrison INT that bounced off the ground vs. the Dolphins, Mayo's assists for breathing on ball carriers, Laurinaitis not getting credited with any assists, etc....

I personally got hosed on both of these plays. How in the world were neither of these PDs when players get credit for them every week on similar plays?

Jene - any chance we have a breakdown like this for the entire 2010 season? I found this invaluable last year.

Yes, all this information (assisted tackles per week per team and average assisted tackles home and away per game) and more is available in Larry Thomas' weekly spreadsheet. You'll have to combined the assists and assists allowed tables to get total assist counts per home team, but the data is there.Subscribers can get the final 2010 sheet with all 17 weeks of data here.
