Nice broken tackle run my CJ Spiller, and then he finishes the run by tripping over himself without even being touched by a defender.

Buffalo is awful
Are you surprised by this? They're 0-8 for a reason.I'll grant that they've been playing a lot better these last 3 weeks, but they're still a 2-14ish team.
I haven't seen them play that much this year, and they have been playing better but man it's brutal watching them on offense. 4th and an inch and you lose 2 yards, ouch:spillerowner:

The Lions are one big penalty machine so far.
Its been an area of consistency all year; nice to see a devastating defeat last week won't jolt them into playing with any discipline going forward. 6 penalties in the first 11 minutes tells you something about the commitment to ineptitude that has long been a hallmark of the Lions.Passer ratings of 34.7 and 47.9 respectively so far. Nothing beats quality.

Its plays like that that bring down Best's ypc. Hit 4 yards in the backfield...twice.

It's horrible playcalling is what it is. Throw some screens with him and teams won't be able to rush straight up field. Or run some tosses or something. Running Best up the guy is a coaching crime.

Spiller making plays when he touches the ball. Still baffling that the Bills don't get him more involved on offense. Especially since they're 0-8. Might as well let the guy get some game experience so he can develop.

Yeah, but its not like he's had a ton of negative yardage plays this year. He surely leads the league in runs for zero or one yard.I'm shocked that people are still starting him even with the sweet matchup.

How does SHilll look? and more importantly Calvin? Also any looks for Steve Johnson?
Hard to tell on Hill. Lions are trying to use exploit the run. Steve Johnson was targeted early in the red zone. He has been pretty quiet the last couple of drives.

Frankly, with his lack of playing time despite the high draft pick used on him, either Gailey or Nix deserves to be fired. Cause either the GM screwed up big time or the coach is screwing up big time.

Calvin's gotta stop reaching the ball out with one hand on every play to get a few extra inches. They don't ever give it to the players anyway if it's not at the first down/endzone marker, and it's just going to result in fumbles.

I agree -- crazy that they've thrown him the ball only once.
I don't get why they keep running Best up the middle and Smith to the sides.

Seems to be the case. Last week we saw a couple of cutback runs and a couple passes where Best looked really good in open space.Smith has looked more effective the last 4 games regardless of the reason. Best is unstartable in ff.

I don't get it, someone should ask The Schwartz.

Zebras decide not to review that? P A T H E T I C!

It's ONLY A SCORING PLAY!

This stuff makes my head hurt EVERY WEEK and I really could not possibly care less who wins any/every game. Utter incompetence is the NORM among NFL officiating.

They did get it right on the field

Two coaches in this game who have no clue how to utilize their dynamic RBs. Also, Spiller has a hamstring injury and is done for the game.

How does ANYONE KNOW from a cursory glance at a replay? The rule exists to get the calls RIGHT. There's ZERO downside from the zebras deciding to look at it in the last 2 minutes. But it's the bills/lions, so no one wants to take 3 minutes to take a closer look and make SURE? BOOOOOOOOOO!!!

3rd and Goal from the 5 with 6 seconds left in the half. Lions throw a fade to CJ, ball is apparently picked by Leodis McKelvin. Refs rule it incomplete on the field - replay shows the ball clearly hitting the ground - it would've been a miraculous INT from McKelvin...really a poorly thrown ball from Hill. Bills call TO and hope the refs review it. They do not.Lions kick FG on 4th and Goal.

McKelvin intercepted a Detroit pass in the end zone. Zebra on field calls it incomplete. Initial replay shows defender rolling over on the ground. NO BOOTH REVIEW called for despite Buffalo calling a timeout giving them ample time/excuses to go under the hood and take a look. Buffalo CAN'T challenge because it's in the last 2 minutes. Detroit kicks a FG.And people BET on these random events?

^ you mean the almost INT when the ball CLEARLY hit the ground?
It was NOT clear, and there was NOTHING TO LOSE from looking at a VERY important play that the Bills can't challenge due to the rules trusting in the refs to GET IT RIGHT.CBS dumbed down coverage of loser game means limited camera angles, but that's an even bigger conspiracy theory story.

^sorry, but the ball clearly bounced off the ground...not sure what you were watching. No need to stop the game..it was obvious.

You know the guys upstairs determined it didn't need to be looked at because the call was correct

NOt watching the game, but how in the world is Detroit playing so bad against the Bills D?
I believe they came into this game thinking Best would be able to run all over the Bills. They keep trying to make that come to fruition. The O-line and Best look very average. Bills are actually getting a very effective pass rush.
