Clayton signs with the Giants (1 Viewer)

If Clayton's the guy they've signed, that tells me they're going to try running it down teams' throats.

Only thing that cat is good for is downfield blocking.

Not much else out there.

At WR, the Giants have Smith and Nicks currently down and previously lost Hixon, Barden, Cruz, and Moss to IR for the year.

Some sort of Manning curse happening to WRs this year.

Paging Ike Hilliard...

Paging Amani Toomer...

Paging Stephen Baker the Touchdown Maker...

As a Giants fan, I really don't mind this signing. It's a 1 year deal with a depleted receiving corps, why not? Clayton has proved useful in some capacity (blocking, hard worker), so what if he can't light a game up? I'm not sure Coughlin brought him in to be a game changer. I rather have him running around than Derek Hagan, that guy was tuuuuurrrrribblleeee (Charles Barkley Voice) last game.

Man, I thought that rookie crop of receivers was going to be big time....7 first rounders

Larry Fitzgerald

Roy Williams

Reggie Williams

Lee Evans

Michael Clayton

Michael Jenkins

Rashaun Woods

Fitz is the only star. I think Evans, in a better situation, could have been a star. Roy and Jenkins are just good enough to keep a job. The rest....yuck

This may not seem like a good pickup at first blush, but if you read the article I linked, Clayton credits his rookie success to working and rooming with Eli leading up to the draft. In other words, these two have worked together before and it lead to Clayton's most productive season. There may be some intangibles here. I live in Florida. I watched Clayton alot. He wasn't always terrible. He just may not have fit the West Coast system.

I am saying right now Clayton comes in and helps out right away on short and intermediate routes. Maybe not Steve Smith, but not Mary Smith either. He is a big target and appears to be in playing condition.

Time will tell, but I don't think this was a bad move for the Giants.

Giants fan here and its a good pickup. not goi ng to

be helpful for fantasy but he will help the giants

something were to happen to hagen he would be relevant for td leagues. A big red zone target.

Mike williams did it. Nothing would suprise me.
