Game Thread W14 - Denver V Arizona (1 Viewer)

Scintillating first quarter comes to a close with teams tied at 3.

John Skelton 1/8 for 2 yards - which means the Cards are relying on their running game which had 8 yards. Can we expect that ratio to continue..

Meanwhile the Broncos have 2 turnovers - and are going at a ratio of 1 good play - then 2 bad.

Orton picked - 4th turnover - Cards have started nearly every possession over the 50 - they have 6 points so far.

Really needed a couple TDs from Moreno and/or Gaffney. Considering Denver is turning it over every 3rd play that seems highly unlikely.

I guess Bowlen can fire another coach this week. The Cards are one of the worst run defenses in the NFL genius and they seem to be eating your lunch when you pass. Just a thought, but you might be wise to run the dang ball you rocket scientist.

What was really great about that last INT by Orton was the way he tackled himself attempting to make a tackle...

Nice fake FG by the Cards. I swear, right before the snap, I asked, "Why is Feeley wearing gloves?" Makes sense now.

Begs the question: for those who started Feeley, does your league give you credit for a TD?

What is really funny is the leap into the stands--he jumps up and breaks that dorky kid's glasses with his right hand.... :lmao: I had to back it up a couple times to catch that.

lmao @ denver...facing a rookie qb in his first start, guy was 9/22 with under 100 yds passing into the 3rd quarter and you are losing...

Larry Fitzgerald is on fire right now. 3 receptions on Arizona's first drive of the half, including a ridiculous leaping catch while reaching backwards and a one-handed grab with Bailey draped all over him at the 5-yard line.

what's the record for most points by a player that accounted for all of his team's points? Feely's gotta be right there.

Cardinals hanging tough. They are as good as in - they just need a little help :tinfoilhat:

Could someone tell me how Skelton looks? Stat line is poor, but I can't see the game and I have him stashed in a deep dynasty league QB heavy.

He's getting a rhythm right now after a poor start. But it is the Broncos and the Broncos D has been on the field the whole game - he doesn't look spectacular so I don't think too many people will pay that much attention.

He's keeping drives alive; ran 9 yards for a first down at one point. 13 / 27; should look better a lot ugly drops for the Cardinals. Clearly has an NFL arm drives the ball there with ease. With an off-season full of reps at starting QB; he's got potential. It just comes down to how well he can read defenses; adjust to the NFL level.

He's keeping drives alive; ran 9 yards for a first down at one point. 13 / 27; but easily could have been 15, 16, 17 of 27 been a lot of ugly drops for the Cardinals. Clearly has an NFL arm drives the ball there with ease. With an off-season full of reps at starting QB; he's got potential.
I love the arm, but how about his decision making? Does he seem lost? Competent? Is he accurate? Thanks for the info.

He's not particularly accurate (nowhere near as bad as Anderson, though). He has definitely been helped by Denver's lack of a pass rush.

There have been a few times were he's tried "forcing" the ball to Fitzgerald. But he stands tall in the pocket with a lot of poise; not enough data to say he's competent of or not. To be completely honest the AZ Offensive Line has given him ALL DAY to pass today. Which could make this performance suspect. The aforementioned drops can be attributed to the fact that he as been throwing to "covered" receivers; good to see him taking shots like that. The guy has a HUGE framed; decent mobility in the pocket. Excited about his prospects as I own him in Dynasty; but I'm not getting too excited one way or the other considering the guy hasn't registered a TD or a INT yet.EDIT: As far as his accuracy; it's definitely there. Derek Anderson makes this guy look like Dan Marino in that aspect.

2/24??? Does this mean I need to jump off the Lloyd bus just in time for the playoffs?
The Broncos are just terrible now. The offense was the only thing going for them this entire season and now without McDaniels, it's terrible too. I think we're looking at a Titans-like collapse. The entire team has given up. Time to bench all Broncos...and perhaps even Moreno, sadly. Just when the guy turns it on and looks great, the passing offense collapses.

That's really smart by the Broncos, getting it within 2 scores. Now all they need to TDs and 2-point conversions. Should be, you know, no problems against THIS defense...

First points by someone other than Feeley....

I guess McDaniels wasn't the problem

Bronco linebacker had a line on the runner and his own man blew him up

It almost looks like the Denver players are tanking on purpose. Maybe they are angry about McD being fired?
