Good luck if you have something riding on this game!

Possibly. Florida is packed with retired midwesterners.Weird. A lot of Lions fans in Tampa? Sounds like cheers every time they score.
You didn't really start him did you?Where the F is Best?????
He is looking good, but the Lions LBs and secondary units are basically a bunch of street free agents at this point.Wow, Blount is legit. Guy just rumbles like a Jerrome Bettis in his prime
If Stafford stays healthy they will challenge for first in the division. Next Year. Yes I did say it.They're only 3 games off being .500 THIS year--and that with all the crap and injuries they've gone through this year.Good win for Detroit. It is a good sign that they are starting to get a few wins despite bad to average QB play. If Stafford can stay healthy for a full season next year they could be around .500

Using that logic, they are only 3 games off being 1-13 too. Just sayin. They're only 3 games off being .500 THIS year--and that with all the crap and injuries they've gone through this year.
to be fair, he's been very unreliable in that situation all season.Tampa deserved to lose when they didn't give their 250lb running back even one shot at a 1st and goal from the 1 yard line. Got a little too cute and it cost them the game.
Last week's win was significant. They came ready to play and I think that is a tribute to the coaching staff. Under the last three coaches the team would have mailed it in. Coaching and talent on the field is making this team better.Gettin' their roll on now.Great to put together consecutive wins - against two good teams - and more importantly, end the road streak.Would love to see a strong push to the end. This is the kind of thing that can build on itself and carry over to the next season. Its also very impressive that they are winning with a lot of backups getting significant snaps on the D-line, the DBs, RB, 3rd string QB. Would be real easy to pack it in and roll over at this stage. Guys are getting their chance to play and taking advantage of it.
Funny what a few wins can do for you..A few weeks ago, people were calling for Schwartz head in Motown.. especially when he wasn't calling out the NFL for fining Kong Suh, or calling out the NFL and the refs at the pressers.. honestly? People are swayed all too easily without actually objectively looking at the situation and viewing the actual improvement..and for the actual Detroiters 97.1 the ticket drums up a lot of this garbage by attempting to manifest topics of conversation..Edit: Those who thought Tampa tried to get too cute at the goalline.. it's what they've had success with the past month or so.. getting cute or different at the goalline has won them a few games now.. and LgBlount's been called out by the coaches because of his inability to use his size to generate positive yardage on those short yardage situationsLast week's win was significant. A few weeks ago? They were screaming for his head on a pike at 3:45 yesterday afternoon on the Detroit Free Press live game blog. Half an hour later, not so much.A few weeks ago, people were calling for Schwartz head in Motown
97.1 is the GED crowd. Tough to listen to that station and really come away with anything substantial.I was one that has always been behind Schwartz but I disagreed regarding Suh and CJ at the pressers. In no way do I find that a reason to jettison him. The path he is creating is successful. It is just a long ### path from the field where Millen grazed to the field of professional football.Funny what a few wins can do for you..A few weeks ago, people were calling for Schwartz head in Motown.. especially when he wasn't calling out the NFL for fining Kong Suh, or calling out the NFL and the refs at the pressers.. honestly? Tolbert gets stuffed a couple of times a game, yet Turner still pounds him again and again until he scores. First and goal from inside the 1 and you have a 245lb RB. I assure you that he will get it in. And yes I lost my FF game by one point yesterday with Blount.Funny what a few wins can do for you..A few weeks ago, people were calling for Schwartz head in Motown.. especially when he wasn't calling out the NFL for fining Kong Suh, or calling out the NFL and the refs at the pressers.. honestly? I understand the frustration with our Detroit fans but just because you're a frustrated fan doesn't make you an expert on when to fire a coach. The average fan just knows they're not winning and out of that frustration they want someone else in there to ease the pain.In a case like Detroit's, there are a lot of things you need to consider. You have to consider how bad that team was when he took the team over. You have to look at what talent he did have, it was young talent and it needs time to develop. You have to consider that they've dealt with many injuries in key areas.A few weeks ago? Well said. I'm a Schwartz supporter (my sig has been there since day 1). However, there were some glaring issues earlier in the year that could be attributed to him (clock management, penalty accountability, in game play calling). I was definitely at my wit's end at one point but I fully understood the mountain this 2nd year HC would have to climb and the learning process it would be to get it right. As long as the team showed signs of improvement in these areas of disappointment, I was going to be ok with him going forward. I think you can absolutely say now that the light appears to be coming on for some of these player. They are learning how to win and a fine finish in 2010 can set up for a really good 2011.Iwannabeacowboybaby! said:I understand the frustration with our Detroit fans but just because you're a frustrated fan doesn't make you an expert on when to fire a coach. I think Schwartz is far beyond perfect. I think the team can improve on stupid penalties like offsides and false starts. They also need to do the little things right in games like tackle teams in bounds when the opposing team is running their 2 minute offense. He's also shown some flaws in his own 2 minute clock management in a few games this year.
However, I like his fire. I think he has the Lions playing competitively this season and considering where Detroit was just 2 years ago, you'll take it. Of course we'll want to see even more progression next season, which should mean something like a .500 season, fighting for a wild card or division title in a division that has a declining Minnesota team, a Bears team where Detroit should have beat twice this year and a Green Bay team that we split with.
I've been a big Schwartz supporter but I understand the fans' frustration. They just want a winner and if Schwartz is able to bring some of that to Detroit, the great sports fans of Detroit will give him his due and them some.
