2011 Sleepers (1 Viewer)

Lets get a thread going for sleepers for 2011 fantasy football. Who do you like?
Who do you like? ;)My sleeper for 2011 is Delone Carter. I think he's better than any other RB on the Colts team and the Colts OL is much improved after the draft. I also think Damian Williams could surprise if the Tennessee QB situation irons itself out. Other sleepers include Lance Kendricks, Eric Decker, Jermaine Gresham, Niles Paul, Tyrell Sutton (if DW signs elsewhere), Marcus Easley, and Jacquizz Rodgers.

I like Anthony Armstrong. He has some Desean Jackson like ability, but it kinda depends on what level of qb play the skins get.

I see that another poster mentioned Niles Paul. I just don't see it. Saw a lot of him because I live in Nebraska- he just plays way too stiff and his hands are inconsistent. Maybe he can straighten that out, but I think he may be better suited for WR4/ST type role

Andre Roberts is another guy with lots of upside that may be able to break out if they get some consistent QB play. Roberts worked his way from wr6 to starting ahead of Doucet/Breaston by the end of the season. Many people don't realize this and he's flying under the radar.

Plays too stiff? Sorry to disagree there. IMO Niles Paul was a steal in the draft. Every video I watch on this guy makes me drool.......except for the part where he drops some passes.

Love Love Love Jordy Nelson this year

I know he isnt a sleeper but I also really think Santonio Holmes makes a huge jump this year. If you look at his targets last year he is poised to have a huge year if he stays with the Jets and IF Sanchez can keep developing.

Percy Harvin, though admittedly not a deep sleeper. I'd imagine Rice is gone, and Harvin (assuming his "migraines" are indeed gone) has the skills to be the go-to guy for a new QB. He's a RB, TE and WR rolled up into one, and I expect he'll get a crapload of touches per game.

I don't disagree that Roberts has talent and he may have a bigger role IF Breaston signs elsewhere AND the Cardinals get a real QB .....BUT let's be accurate about Roberts starting last year - BOTH Breaston and Doucet were injured then

'Until the SB Jones was having a better run and Driver is still the starter. Honestly I like Cobb better even as a rookie. You mentioned targets. The last 6 weeks(11-16) he had 21 passes thrown-3.5 per game, Jones had 36, Driver 38, Jennings 47. He did have a higher percentage of catches but 3 of those weeks he only had 2 passes thrown to him each week. I'm not saying he won't step up but I wouldn't over-reach for him based on the SuperBowl.

Damian Williams, Darren Sproles, David Gettis, Golden Tate, Brandon Lloyd(that's right), Luke Stocker, Matt Stafford, Jordan Shipley, Marcus Easley, Bess.

I agree with Williams, Stocker (when Winslow gets hurt), Stafford (if he doesn't get hurt again), and Easley. I look for Lloyd to take a step backwards this year (that's right), and it's hard to get excited about Sproles and Gettis. As for Jordan Shipley and Golden Tate, I would lean more toward Shipley. He's a very polished receiver. He runs great routes, has deceptive speed, and has great hands. That can be useful in any offense.

Obviously Lloyd will take a step back, but not to the degree everyone is thinking, IMO. I think Sproles goes to a team that actually uses him, like the Colts. Gettis looked better than Lafell and with the chance of Steve Smiff leaving, he should be a solid starter. And no matter what you think of Newton, that offense has to improve. I think Tate makes the field on a more consistent basis this year and sees a bump with a better QB (Kolb maybe?)

I am with Blackjacks. I think James Jones is gone and Jordy will be the #2 (excluding Finley) on a 4300 yard passing offense. I see Donald Driver in a rotation at #3. At his draft position, I think he is very likely to outproduce.

DHB - Came out of South Carolina too early..

Had the speed but not the knowledge at the NFL level

His rookie year was really his senior year so I'm basing

last year as his rookie where he showed promise then hamstring

issues slowed him down to finally produce this year...

Blair White...... yes Blair White.
With Anthony Gonzalez healthy I'm not sure Blair White will be much of a factor.
AG has to make the team... Not sure what his contract calls for, but certainly an injury risk to weigh against it at this point. They don't need him... We'll see what happens, I've been watching.
Gonzalez will make the team before White if both are healthy due to him being a 1st rd pick. However, this is the last chance for Gonzalez. If he gets hurt again he will most definitely get cut. Gonzalez is signed this year for 1.11 million and is a FA next year. He has to come through the preseason injury free and look good.

Did he get hand transplants this off-season?

Plus he has forks for hands... Not great at football, but I bet he's hell in a steak house..

I'm not as confident as you are, guess we'll see..

There's four RB's I'm trying to at least get a piece of 6-14 picks above their ADP depending on the circumstances. Rasad Jennings, Beanie Wells, Daniel Thomas and Shonn Greene.

Agreed... I don't think AG's draft pedigree holds much weight 4 years into his professional career, and I'd bet the Colts value White more at this point in time.

Mark Clayton and Roscoe Parrish can be had very late. Both were getting pretty good production until the injuries. In PPR, Clayton was averaging 16 ppg and Parrish nearly 11 ppg.

I like the late round injury play with Rashad Jennings. http://1y.football.cbssports.com/news/15234503 This mock had him in Round 11, that seems to soon for an injury play. Not sold on Beanie Wells' talent but he certainly is cheap to pick up. I think the Dolphins will pick up a big name FA rb, so I see Daniel Thomas in a timeshare, and maybe even on the smaller end of a timeshare. Shonn Greene should be a solid, reliable point producer this year.I really like Malcolm Floyd in rounds 12-14. High upside gamble if VJax is traded or is somehow a UFA after the CBA is settled. Backing up Floyd with Seyi Ajirotutu in rounds 18-22ish. Rivers has proven he can throw it to anyone at that X position and you could strike gold.

Looking at some of my drafts this year, one name is consistent in all of them: Jordy Nelson. He is going in rounds 8-10 in both redraft and dynasty. I think James Jones will walk as a UFA unless the Packers commit to him ahead of Jordy Nelson. Jordy Nelson is IMO a much better receiver and the Packers will not send those signals to Jones' agent when the time comes, although I do believe the Packers want to re-sign him. There are also reports that Jones feels like he is worth more than what the Packers want to pay. Donald Driver is 36 and it is time to move him to WR3 or he is going to slow Aaron Rodgers down in his prime. Jordy Nelson as an every down WR2 for the Pack seems to be the natural growth of this WR core. Fingers crossed.

I will cherry pick my games also to help my arguement:In the playoffs he had 28 targets (avg over 9 a game). When the biggest games were upon them he was the #1 option. 28 targets in the playoffs makes me think he has Rodgers trust. I firmly believe Driver will be the #3, Jones will be gone and Cobb needs a couple of years. I see over 1,000 and 8 tds out of him this year.

For what its worth, it wasn't just the Super Bowl where Jordy had good stats last playoffs. He had 8-79-1 vs. Atlanta, 4-67-0 against Chicago (low scoring game overall) and then 9-140-1 in the Super Bowl. So over the last 3 games of the season, he averaged 7 catches, 96 yards and .67 TDs per game. With Jones likely gone in FA and Driver having turned 36 last February, there is a pretty good chance he ends up as WR2 for the Packers.

Here is a list that I will dig deep on some of these. Ryan Williams, Taylor Price, Eric Decker, Antonio Brown, Keiland Williams, John Phillips, Chad Henne, Seyi Ajiratutu, Dorin Dickerson, Davone Bess, Jason Hill, Tyrell Sutton.

My Wr sleepers. No real deep sleepers, but all guys that I believe will out produce their ADP.

Mario Manningham------ I believe Steve Smith is going to start the year on PuP. Manningham will pick up right where he left off last year. I think he'll keep his momentum and the #2 job even after Smith returns to the lineup. I'm expecting another top 25 season and wouldn't be surprised if he cracked the top 15.

Chad Ochocinco-------- He's been written off as a side show by too many owners. When the dust settles, he'll have another 1000 yard season and once again be a top 25 WR.

Jacoby Ford----------- He's a dynamic playmaker whenever he touches the football. Another guy that I believe is going to be a top 25 WR by season's end.

Emmanuel Sanders------ I think 2011 is the year Ward gets pushed aside. I love Ward's toughness, but Sanders is the superior playmaker by a wide margin. I have Sanders as my #35 WR for 2011. I'm expecting big things from Sanders starting in 2012.

Earl Bennett---------- I think he's finally turning into the WR I thought he would when he came into the NFL. Martz has stated that Bennett will have a larger role this year. If the Chicago O-line can keep Cutler healthy, I look for Bennett to crack the top 35 Wr's for 2011.

Other guys I really like: Steve Smith (Car.), Santana Moss, Jason Hill, Eric Decker, Jerome Simpson, Jordy Nelson and Robert Meachem.

Beanie's talent is the ONLY thing I'm still sold on. It's the other stuff that has him in a freefall. Totally agree on Jennings, because of the recent self admitted 80%-85% comment by MJD, he's in danger of becoming one of those chic sleeper picks to the point I can't justify it. Regarding Thomas, I'm not so sure a timeshare would be a bad thing for him at least to begin the season. Remember, you're only drafting him as a RB3 among the likes of Addai and Lynch. At that point, everybody is in danger of being in a timeshare.

Fred Jackson

BUF went 4-4 the final 8 games if the season, son they were showing signs of life under Gailey. Once Lynch was traded, Jackson produced at a 88 YFS/game level. Not confined Spiller will take over, Jackson will still be RB1 so 280-300 touches is nit out of the question. And you can get him in Round 6.
