Rams beat Packers this week (1 Viewer)

Packers coming off evening game with a slow start. They have an away game against divisional opponent next week they are likely looking at more than this week. Rams coming off bye week and have nothing to lose. They have a rested S. Jackson. This has all the makings of a trap game. Rams defense capitalizes on a couple turnovers and takes the win.

You must be all over the 14 point spread. (Or whatever it's up to now) What will you buy with your winnings? New TV? Rams season tickets? Kegerator?

No way, I say GB wins by 25 + . Did you see what Joe Flacco did to them? They have no CB's. Their top 3 CB's are all out for the year. This is just a ridiculous OP.

in that case they should be undefeated the rest of the year.and colts, too.....

Step 1: Make rediculous prediction.

Step 2a: Prediction comes true, I'm a hero.

Step 2b: Prediction does not come true, I recede into shadows and pretend this didn't happen until it's time for my next baseless guess.

Well... This could be a trap game and the Pack just lost their starting LT. So they'll probably only lose by 3TDs instead of 4.

I love your intense analysis. Please write more.

I seriously think St. L could be allowed to line up 12 men on the field all game and still loose to GB. GB is that good and St. L is that bad.

I love it. The best part of it all was that you typed "Yep" in the Topic Description as though the Topic Title didn't adequately describe your conviction.

:lmao:

They probably won't win, but I also expect the Rams to play the Packers tough much for the reasons the OP already stated. Rams are coming off a bye, Stephen Jackson well rested, Packers got a divisional game away from home next week. Rams pass D has actually been pretty good this season in 3 of 4 games. If St. Louis is gonna win, Sam Bradford is gonna have to play outstanding though, and Bradford has looked far from outstanding so far this season; though maybe having 2 weeks to prepare will be the thing he needs.

With a hard-nosed coach in Spagnola and 2 weeks to prepare, Spagnola should be able to get his team really jacked up for this game. Maybe the Rams don't win, but I like their chances relative to most times a team is +675 on the money line. I'll take the +15 points anyway.

Oh, I won't be receding into anything. You'll see me here after the game collecting my well-earned praises and

Are predictions like this in the New Guy training manual or something?

You can see 2-3 new threads each week on these forums that go by the exact same formula. "I'll say that something that's very unlikely to happen WILL happen. Then, in the small chance that it actually happens, I'll act like I was really smart, rather than being lucky with no base for making the prediction in the first place."A couple I've read lately were "Mario Manningham WILL score a TD this week" and "Calvin Johnson WILL break the TD record." Each translates into the same thing..."LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT MEEEEEE!"

It's going to take more than a couple of turnovers for this to happen. More like 4 or 5. It would be nice if the Rams could capitalize in the red zone a couple of times as well. Every team will have that one game when very little goes right for them and you can't always tell when that game might be. It would really have to be a perfect storm like that for the Rams to have a chance.

O RLYPicking double-digit dogs to win outright is no job for amateurs.

I would say St. Louis has roughly a 4% chance to beat Green Bay. Bradford would need to play a flawless game while Rodgers throws three picks. And even then, I'm not sure the Rams can win. I'd like to see it though, as most of the people in my suicide pool will be taking Green Bay. I used them already, against the Broncos.

Not a chance. Rams are missing both their starting CB's and they get lost defending the TE. It's a perfect storm for a stomping. Great fantasy numbers in GB's passing game.

Exactly...I like the "looking ahead to divisional opponent" logic too. Given the divisional opponent is the hapless Vikings.

Vikings are going to give you all you can handle.

We don't need them to give us any points...Packers are capable of scoring plenty on Minny on their own.

yep to this nope... not to your yep. Here's what could happen:Disney could buy the team, make them wear the old Mighty Ducks jerseys and change the team name from the Packers to the Quackers, roster the original NHL players, tell them to go play football --still wearing skates mind you. Bradford would be unstoppable. Jackson might get some cuts from those skates pushing the pile but he would gash them right back; 3 TDs easy. Ron Tugnut would not save any of them. Kariya would throw pick after pick... Fights would certainly ensue and the Ducks would hold their own here. I see Stu Grimson vs. Quentin Mikell. All Stu. Even as he's in his 40's now. Kariya would eventually get carted out. Many Quackers would leave the game concussed... and then the Rams would certainly win.But the Rams are playing the Packers this week.

A couple I've read lately were "Mario Manningham WILL score a TD this week" and "Calvin Johnson WILL break the TD record."

Each translates into the same thing..."LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT MEEEEEE!"
 Don't be a clown.

That thread is actually posed as a question and has generated plenty of discussion. Not to mention the fact that Calvin Johnson is very much on pace to break that record.

Rams are averaging around 11 pts per game and they've played 3 of 4 at home. This will be similar to the 37-7 Baltimore final I'm afraid.

Cool your jets, Touchy. The CJ remark was made by a poster IN that thread, not by the OP. I'm not degrading your precious thread.
