Week four 4-115

week five 7-99 and 1td

We all know he's been a pretty big letdown so far, but does he and Campbell have some chemistry? If he's available who do you drop for him?

Finally? He's entering his third season. While others have excelled sooner, he was considered raw coming out. He's right on pace to be very good.

Alright fair enough.

Still, I'm wondering if he's worth dropping Meachem or Moore (New Orleans). Bloom commented on Bey's target amount but that he didn't look that special. If he is getting the targets, and it is the year of Al Davis.

I would drop either for DHB.... provided I had some other decent starters to rely on. DHB is a huge swing for the fences and his ceiling is much higher than Meachem/Moore, though his floor is obviously lower. He has looked much improved though, so I don't think it's luck that he's doing well.

Im biased but I've always liked DHB. He was drafted too early and watching him in college you knew he was a work in progress. Now in his 3rd year I think he's putting it together. Campbell is decent and Hue Jackson is one of the better playcallers in the league that nobody talks about IMO.I don't think he'll ever be a true #1 or a fantasy stud but he can be a quality WR2 in the NFL and fantasy going forward IMO. I think he continues to produce this year and will be in the WR20-30 range going into drafts next year.

DHB leads the Raiders in WR targets and but is still only tied for 40th for WR targets in the league overall. Jason Campbell is also only ranked 20th in passing attempts and yards. So whether or not DHB is turning the corner, I don't think any Raiders WR can be relied on as a reliable WR1 or WR2. At best you are hoping that a guy like DHB or Denarius Moore can be a WR3 with upside, but there will be weeks where they give you absolutely nothing. It's almost the worst type of player to have in your lineup since you can't even play the matchups. There is just no telling which Raiders WR will be the guy that week or if the passing game will even show up at all. I would also like to see DHB's catch ratio improve. Last year it was 40%. This year it's over 50% but it still needs to improve. Part of the problem is Jason Campbell, but DHB also has repeatedly displayed below average hands and route running. I would like to see if he can string together more than two decent games and if his catch ratio improves, before considering him a reliable option.

a couple of wr 1's in Don Mega, Nicks, and B Lloyd, (went upsidedown) but am always looking for that other "Brandon Lloyd" like we all are.

Right. And he carries the injury bug. However, I believe the "Ghost of Al" may be with him

Using FBG's stats, DHB is 20th in targets the last 3 weeks. He's 15th in yards per reception, and that's including some guys who had some long plays on just 1-2 catches.Over the last 2 weeks he's 10th in targets per game, and this has been with Ford, Moore, Schillens all playing. The only guy out now is Murphy. And yeah, he may have had talent after all and yes Oakland may be determined to give him all the chances he needs to succeed as a tribute to Al Davis. Heck he might want to succeed for that reason. Whatever NFL fans may have said about Al's performance over the last 10 years everyone connected to the Raiders seem to truly love him. They may truly be trying to win one for the Gipper.

DHB is going to keep getting the opportunities until he starts to fail. So far he doesn't have an A grade, but he's no where near the F he was last two years as a WR.

One big change has been the way he's being utilized. Jackson and Saunders said in the preseason they were going to try utilize him differently than in the past. The biggest change I've noticed is that they seem to be focusing him more on intermediate routes than the long bombs. He was terrible as a deep threat. But with intermediate routes, he's showing much improved hands (though still a body catcher) and is starting to look confident breaking tackles and getting YAC. His TD last game was exactly that. Still hard to trust a guy with suspect hands, even though they are improved. Like I said, not an A, but not an F either. C+/B- range so far IMO, with moments of better and worse, and trending up as his confidence grows.

I'll believe DHB is for real when teams put their best corner on him and he has success. Last week Joseph covered Moore the whole came as far as I could tell.

Haden didn't practice Friday, I don't think he plays.

I'm calling it now. D. Moore has another splash week. Don't keep him on your bench chasing points the week after.

i think Moore and DHB can both get points this week, especially since Haden is out. Cle won't hog the ball like the Texans did last week. That means more chances and snaps for the Raiders on offense. That means more snaps and targets for DHB and Moore.

I think DHB is a must start at WR3 and Moore is a decent start if you have bye week problems . . .

tell me about the other catches.I've fallen for this guy a few times when what he really did on Sunday was catch a ball, the defender made a bad play on the ball and kinda went to the wayside and then he took off to the races. That's fortunate, not quality WR play.I felt like he kinda did that on the one highlight they kept showing. It's not his fault, kudos to him for making the play. However, I do want to hear about him actually playing WR like a WR. (Please don't give me that he outran someone and caught a deep ball, I know he's fast and sometimes that doesn't take much skill either) Sorry for the wording, hopefully some Raiders fan knows what I mean.

Another solid day so far - 6 for 82. It seems like the main thing I liked out him - his determination - is finally starting to pay off. He's not a complete WR yet but he's making progress at a very fast rate considering how raw he was coming in. I also noticed he's had a very similar progression in catches to Vincent Jackson:VJax - 9, 27, and 49DHB - 9, 26, and 22 (through 5 games since he was out week 2), which pro-rated over the season is 70.

Went for DHB over all the other popular guys last week (Breaston, Avant, Baldwin, Williams, etc) and am liking my decision. He's clearly OAK best WR right now

what about D. Moore?
Dropped him for DHB, but Im sure Moore owners will make excuses in his thread about why his 1 catch, 9yds statline was better than it looks on paper and CLE was rolling coverage to Moore

Haden psyched him out from the sideline . . .

and a bunch of posts by Denarius Moore haters as well. Don't understand why so many people are black and white with him. He's a promising rookie. He's not a can't miss prospect like some would claim but he certainly flashed talent. In general, I think far to many fantasy owners are expecting way to much to soon from him.

it's post like this that bring out the jokes . . . the guy is a 5th round rookie and his thread is a zillion pages long - no one hates Moore, it's a jab to the guys who picked him and anointed him all-world before his first game - like you said, he has promise, but why can't we wait UNTIL he does ANYTHING to hype him up . . .Denarius Moore and Danario Alexander are related . . .

DHB a decent play this week with no Moore or Ford? Palmer's gonna throw to someone, especially with the Miami defense stopping the run well of late.

I'm playing for my playoff spot this weekend and DHB is looking like a pretty good play against a GB defense giving up the 2nd most fantasy pts per game. Not to mention that Oakland is playing for their playoff spot. Especially with Ford and Moore likely out again. Is DHB a huge sleeper for this weekend?

Rumor is Schilens has a broken foot.

Moore - hurt

Ford - hurt

Schilens - hurt

K. Boss - hurt

All that's left: DHB, Murphy, TJ Housh and some back-up TEs you've never heard of.

Somebody on the Raiders is going to score decent fantasy points this weekend as they try to keep up with the juggernaut Pack. Considering they'll likely be trailing all game, it's more likely to be a WR than an RB.

DHB today looked like he did earlier in the year before Carson came. (Breaking tackles and playing with attitude)

When healthy, Oakland's got a fantastic top 3 WR's.

(KFFL) Oakland Raiders head coach Hue Jackson knew since last season when he was the team's offensive coordinator that WR Darrius Heyward-Bey would make an impact. Heyward-Bey has shown great progress this season, catching 51 passes for 775 yards with three touchdowns. "I've seen steady progress," Jackson said. "I told you guys, at some point in time, it was going to just go this way, because the guy works extremely hard. He's a talented player ... The numbers speak for themselves." Jackson added Heyward-Bey remains an unfinished product and will only get better.
