I'm reading BUST, can't beat quality NFL corners, and that SI cover didn't shine on him well. Will he turn into a TE?

No, seriously, who is that? He's #1. Lookin' a bit husky these days.
...Alshon Jeffery. He looks kinda short standing next to #98 but that guy is 6'7.No, seriously, who is that? He's #1. Lookin' a bit husky these days.
Is Lattimore 6'3 then?!...Alshon Jeffery. He looks kinda short standing next to #98 but that guy is 6'7.No, seriously, who is that? He's #1. Lookin' a bit husky these days.
#98 is 6'7, Jeffrey (#1) is 6'4, Lattimore (#21) is 6'1. Looks legit to me in that pictureIs Lattimore 6'3 then?!...Alshon Jeffery. He looks kinda short standing next to #98 but that guy is 6'7.No, seriously, who is that? He's #1. Lookin' a bit husky these days.

what was he like 4months along in that photo? He's #1. Lookin' a bit husky these days.
No doubt he showed up overweight in August. He's never going to look like AJ Green or Julio Jones but he is terrific at going up and getting the football. He'll be a solid pro. Here is a picture from Week 2 versus GA. Not fat, but certainly not cut either. Alshon JefferyI'm reading BUST, can't beat quality NFL corners, and that SI cover didn't shine on him well. Looks more like someone dressed up as Alshon Jeffrey for Halloween. No, seriously, who is that? He's #1. Lookin' a bit husky these days.
But he isn't quick in and out of his breaks, which is the biggest concern at the next level. No doubt he showed up overweight in August. I don't think his QB situation is helping him...He's putting up td's but all of his other numbers are way down this year. It'll be interesting to see if USC wins the East division how he would do going up against the likes of Kirkpatrick or Claiborne in the SEC championship game.

I was gonna say the same thing. Defenses not having to worry about Lattimore cant help either.Next Limas Sweed?'benson_will_lead_the_way said:But he isn't quick in and out of his breaks, which is the biggest concern at the next level.'Ditka is God said:No doubt he showed up overweight in August. Jeffrey reminds me of a less athletic Jon Baldwin. Or a taller Michael Crabtree.
I remember when I was really excited about my developmental WR's in Sweed, Lee Evans, Jacoby Jones and that big tall guy on NYG.ETA. Ok that picture is hilarious....He's #1. Lookin' a bit husky these days.
I don't ever recall Julio Jones ever being in such bad shape. This thread is reminiscent of the Julio hate for much of last year. Still a long way to go here before calling this guy a bust especially given his situation out there in SC.
So we're going off that one picture here? Date on picture? Did we ask him to run the gauntlet, vertical, shuttle? Seems to be an overreaction to say he's "out of shape" based on a photo. Maybe his jersey's just a little too tight. Who knows.I actually just looked up the date on this picture. It's 7/21/11; around the same time of the SI cover when this same thing was brought up in early August. I think we may need an update on this picture if we're relying on visual perception.I don't ever recall Julio Jones ever being in such bad shape. This thread is reminiscent of the Julio hate for much of last year. I'm sure he looks better now, but I read somewhere that scouts are worried about his ability to separate at the next level. I know that's said about a lot of big WRs with poor 40 times, but I'm more worried about Jeffery than others in the past because I question his work ethic. So we're going off that one picture here? Most of the Wrs in the NFL are cut-up muscular dudes no matter the size. IMO, at no point should a WRs body look soft. He is either a naturally really big dude who is going to have kill himself to stay in shape or he has a real work ethic problem. So we're going off that one picture here? Date on picture? They do lose weight as the season goes on..This is quite a big stretch. Talk about trying to justify something.Sometimes Athletes intentionally gain weight. My son was told by his coach just 2 days ago that he needed to gain 15 pounds before next season. A friend of mine, who is a body builder, will go through spells where he's packing on all the calories he can, he get's fat-ish, then he burns much of it off as well as turning much of it into muscle during the 4-5 months before a big competition.Could be that Alshon wanted to end this season bigger, and in great shape, so he put on some extra before the season started. They do lose weight as the season goes on..
Not a stretch at all... If you know anything about building muscle and what the body goes through in a season of sports..This is quite a big stretch. Major difference between good weight and bad weight. Having an inner tube around the midsection is bad weight.hit the weights hard in the offseason and a 15 pound weight gain is good, as long as its proportionate throughout the body. You lose some of the bad weight in camp, mostly water weight. . .But camps arent as rigorous as what they used to be. Also depends on what position you playAgain, spare tire on a wr is not good.Sometimes Athletes intentionally gain weight. He's probably 3-5 pick, depending on the league, wouldn't you say? Unless he has some horrible problem between now and then.. If his combine checks out, and he doesn't get to banged up before the season is over..There have been #1 overall predictions.. I don't think you can call that this early, or based on a picture..I'd be very surprised to see him going anywhere later than the #5 with what we know now. And most likely around #3 will be the average..Where do you see Jeffery going in most dynasty rookie drafts? Not a stretch at all... You have any credentials? Sports Science degree? Or are you just like the rest here and giving your opinion?I'm sure he'll look much slimmer at the combine, then what will you say?Major difference between good weight and bad weight. Would you pass on Luck for him? I sure wouldn't, even in a 4pt per TD league for passing. He's probably 3-5 pick, depending on the league, wouldn't you say? This was my point related to Julio. This was also a big concern related to him last year at this time and even up to before draft time.I'm sure he looks better now, but I read somewhere that scouts are worried about his ability to separate at the next level. Boy, you get worked up easy don't you..? lolBTW - "weight lifter" & "body builder" are not one in the same..Sure, i can try.Junior year in college, i converted from linebacker, went from 225 to 245 since i moved to def end. Wanted to have a little extra on me since id lose some weight in camp. Ended the season at 231 through the rigors of the season. About 6% body fat.My senior year in college, i came in at 250 after knowing how much id lose. Ended that year at 238, 10. Something body fat.I dont have the science degree you seek, but i did play college ball and i have experience in gaining muscle mass and also leaning out, as us "weight lifters" as you so deemed your buddy as. if you need some help with your son, let me know? It sounds like having you as a father,he may need it.And you still have the same ignorant avatar as you did when you were posting on draft sharks. Glad nothing has changed hustler. . . Keep hustling
I guess that would depend more on how the rest of the season, and the combine go... Then my roster and league scoring would have some bearing as well..I don't think you can call it yet..Would you pass on Luck for him? Ok, let me refine my question.4 pts per td, 1 pt per 20 yds passing.Luck and Jeffery stay on the same course with no injuries. You don't have a great need for QB, but could use a top WR.You can't trade down, but you can trade for 2013 picks.Given these parameters, which player to you take at let's say 1.5?I guess that would depend more on how the rest of the season, and the combine go... If I need a WR, and we are at 1.5, I assume Blackmon is already off the board, Alshon would probably be a steal at that point. Based on Dynasty Rookie Values, I'd rank them pretty close to eachother.. Blackmon/Richardson will likely go 1.1/1.2, then Luck/Alshon go 1.3/1.4Ok, let me refine my question.4 pts per td, 1 pt per 20 yds passing.Luck and Jeffery stay on the same course with no injuries. You don't have a great need for QB, but could use a top WR.You can't trade down, but you can trade for 2013 picks.Given these parameters, which player to you take at let's say 1.5?I guess that would depend more on how the rest of the season, and the combine go... No sports science degree, but I am a trainer...and he's right.Treating your body poorly like body builders do is a terrible idea if you want to become a better athlete. It takes consistent effort and hard work to gain good weight, neither of which it sounds like Jeffrey has. This isn't the first time I've seen/read about his laziness since getting to school either. He isn't near my top 5 in dynasty rookie drafts anymore and I'll be looking for reasons to bump him out of the top 10 just to make sure I don't get him unless I see something drastically change and think this won't happen again. He won't get away with it in the NFL and will be completely overmatched if he tries. You have any credentials? Sports Science degree?
