Game Thread W9 - San Francisco V Washington (1 Viewer)

this game worries me. skins OLBs vs out OTs is an issue. sf is due for a letdown, and wash is the type of poor team that will rise up at home after last week's shutout and surprise. id take the skins and the points here.

it will be interesting to see what Smith does when the game is on his shoulders. the weapons are there, which Smith will show up?

Why wont the Skins let Rex start again?

3-2 with Rex, and 0-2 with journeyman Beck. I know skins had some injuries last two games, but Rex looked pretty good those first few games and had a few bummers and he is donezo?

Shanahan just yanked Trent Williams after he committed a penalty. Good move, ratface. I think Redskins have a good coach. That was a cheapshot and cost the offense. Nice message to send to the rest of the squad that certain things won't be allowed.

That was a brutal penalty, especially considering the circumstances. Redskins got a 3rd down conversion and after play he rammed into Justin Smith for 15 yard personal foul and since there was an offsides on 49ers the down was replayed but 15 yard penalty takes precedent over 5 yard and is enforced.Correct me if i am wrong, but had there been no offsides by 49ers, the 1st down would have counted and 15 yard penalty would have been enforced after play for next set of downs?

I'm not sure. I'd be curious to know the answer as well. It's my first game really watching the Redskins but I'll echo an earlier post and ask why Beck is starting over Grossman.

Smith got pushed, looked around, took a few steps, thought about it, and then fell over, at which point the flag was thrown. The refs are only encouraging soccer-style acting.

Whoa, SF going for it on 4th and 1 despite being in easy field goal range.

 :wall: then false start pushes them back 5 yards. Field goal it is.

I don't care what Smith did. It's a stupid play by Williams to shove him in the back to begin with.

Dammit Vernon. Smith stood in the pocket despite getting loads of heat and is able to make a great throw to hit you in stride and you let it clank off your forearms. Would have been first and goal.

That was a PERFECT throw. One of the better ones I've seen Smith make in 6 years.
