This is my attempt at updating what I was trying to create with this thread. My current rankings are:

Tate

Hunter

P.Thomas

The Rest

The Tate/Hunter ranking is more of Schaub injury effecting HOU overall, rather than Hunter solidifying his FF playoff rankings. Thomas has really stayed about the same with the other two moving around him. As far as a dynasty outlook all players are signed for relatively long terms with only F. Jones being a FA(RFA?) after 2012. Teams that I am targeting as potentially resting their starters:

HOU - though that might be in doubt

PIT

OAK

NEP

NOR

GNB

SNF

NYG

OAK

Of course there is a lot of football and I am working here in week 11 so I'm sure I'll look more the fool, than the genius, before this is all over.

As of 11/15/ the poll from week 10 had Hunter and Tate running away with it, with 18 and 17 votes respectfully, everyone else had about 5 votes, with D. Lewis having 2. The sad thing is I am doing all this to identify this player and I think I am going to pick up Lynch anyway :lmao: .

It is interesting that in this poll Tate clearly is the better FF playoff candidate as most of his match-ups are desirable compared to Hunter's but in the original threads poll Hunter is starting to pull away from Tate convincingly.

I think there's a growing fear, as the injuries pile up, that it's "only a matter of time" for Frank Gore. Even if he doesn't suffer anything catastrophic, it's possible they shut him down for a few weeks to get healthy for the playoffs. God knows they'll need him, and the 49ers should have little trouble winning their division at this point.

I'm loving the action that I am getting on the poll but I need to "hear" some input from you guys: let me know what you're thinking.

I picked up Hunter Sunday morning just because of the reasons stated: Gore is already banged up and history is not on his side, and the 49er's are going to clinch early....and then Sunday happened.

I can't believe that the Gore owner (a playoff team) just left him out there.

Kendall Hunter and Kevin Smith. I'm also targeting James Starks and Ryan Grant in trades, because I think Green Bay could turn to the run once they clinch home field advantage.

I feel like with the way the Texans are running right now, it's Tate as far as backups go all weeks 14-17 in all matchups. Only real possibility would be if Hunter gets time for Gore getting shut down, as previously stated. I mean, it's unbelievable. With like 1/3 of Foster's carries, with Foster 100%, Tate is putting up about RB2 numbers. That was before the Schaub injury. Add increased carries with Leinart in there, again only an unimpeded Hunter could take him. This is clear cut for me.

An AC question for sure but what is the opinion of where Lynch sits amongst our examples?

Lynch: Wk.-14 STL, Wk.-15 @CHI, Wk.-16 SF, Wk.-17 @ARI

No love for Beast Mode? Dude's been putting up RB1 numbers the past two weeks, and against good defenses. I still think he's a low RB2/High Flex option, but he's must start if healthy until he proves otherwise. Starter getting all the carries, end of discussion.

He is def playing well. Low end RB1 going into the home stretch.

I was assuming since we're in the Shark Pool, that the majority of posters are already starting Top 20 guys in their RB1/RB2 slots. Either way, yeah until he proves otherwise, find a way to work Lynch into the starting lineup if you can.

I am banging my head here telling myself "take the starter, take the starter" but then I see that week 16 match-up against the #1 run defense and I say to myself "I rather be playing against Lynch in week 16 and have someone like Tate (@ IND) on my team". Playoffs are all but settled for my team, so I am really just fine tuning here.

Out of curiosity … who is Battle backing up?
While the thread states back-ups, the previous thread got into other low-end RBs that might be available at a WW level. Battle is mostly included because of his FF playoff schedule and availability, rather than his depth chart placement. McCluster, Battle, and even Jones, seem to me to be in a RBBC, so to pick a true starter is splitting hairs, to me.

I have gore, hunter and Tate. I am cutting Tate for carson palmer as I have only cutler and dalton. It kills me to do it but I need tate's cap space to do it.

That is a tough one but if you need the QB you're going to have to make it happen. The Gore/Hunter handcuff is nice but I wonder if you'll be chasing points more than if you just rode Tate/Gore out.

Really hoping Powell gets some reps tonight against the broncos. LT should only miss the one game, but Greene is wearing out his welcome with the jets. Might see a Starks like scenario from last year if Powell has a breakout game.

:Bump:

I thought that I would put this up the flagpole once again to see how it relates to today; obviously a few things have changed and now we are heading into week 14.

I really am surprised no one is looking at Ricky Williams. He got 16 carries for 76 yards and a TD last week vs. the Browns who Baltimore plays again in week 16 and they have the Colts week 14. Ricky is going to get a good number of carries this week in my opinion. I picked him up to play over Hillis and Kevin Smith.
