We can measure a theatrical release and easily discern if it was a hit or a flop - but what are the parameters for a made-for-cable film?

it might be an interesting topic for a film but i'm not optimistic. jay roach is a pretty terrible director. the guy who worked on the adaptation isn't exactly a catch either. it's not like it will be Tanner '88 or anything.

Actually they're picking me up from the airport in a limosine (which i am totally opposed to), taking me out to a restaurant for fine dining, and the guy said something about showing me around the town. The guy on the phone sounded as gay as you would expect from someone running a premium male porn service, but not overtly so. The big thing is they don't want me to feel uncomfortable.

The book started great. Then the author ran out of things to say and tried to shoe-horn in some idea that Hillary signing up as SOS was "the ultimate Game Change." I was really impressed with the frist 75% and very meh about the rest.

Just watched it. Great movie. I have no idea how accurate it is (though I've read that it is) but the acting is superb, the entire cast is great (especially the 3 stars) and the script is great as well. I'd have to say it's one of the most engaging political films I've seen in years.

The movie was entertaining but Ed Harris was awful as McCain.

There is an idea of a Patrick Bateman; some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me: only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable... I simply am not there.

No, they were the source for the parts of the book delaing with McCain and Palin. Thats just part of the book.

The subtitle of the book is Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime

The parts about the Clintons were just as fascinating to me. Its just not as shocking as the parts about Palin.

The John Edwards stuff was also worth the read. The movie really is just capturing the celebrity of Palin. The book is far more interesting. I wished the movie could focus on all the stories. That would be an interesting mini-series.

No, I got that from countless sources via a google search. I haven't seen Game Change, but I did pay attention during the campaign and a little bit since, and she is a world class dip####.

What a joke that article is. Couric was widely considered the softest interview in the business prior to this. The fact that the question "What do you read" was considered a gotcha question says all you need to know about how ill-prepared Palin was and how terrible the choice of an empty pants suit was for the McCain camp.

So the question was flop or not. It drew 1.7 million viewers. For some context, Game of Thrones draws between 2-3 million viewers per episode. So I doubt HBO considers it a flop.
