I'm still not sold on the 5 QBs going in the first round in this format. I'm really liking the 14 spot and picking up two top non-QBs.top eight picks seem like consensus picks to me. At nine I was not particularly looking to go QB early, but there are not a lot of extremely solid starters at QB and at that point I like Brady way better than what I thought would be next top RB, WR, or TE. Not really excited, but not disappointed starting out with Brady as my QB. I do think that he should be in the conversation for top QB this year and is a solid top five QB. However, I also hope that being in the middle of the draft allows for some BPA value to fall in upcoming rounds. Happy Drafting all! A nice start today.

ohhhhhh.....my bad guess I didn't really realize Jeter's rep.......not real up to date on the history and who are the studs around here....maybe I should take a look at the history thing twilight has or something... or maybe I am up to date on it and it is all part of the master plan...... guess it should be easy for him then.....should we just quit now..?

I was refering to Jeter who is basically dominant in these drafts.

24 rounds should allow for a ton of depth at non QB positions......which might bring the scoring at those positions closer together....elite QB's are rare....combine lack of depth at the position (32), the fact that some of them really suck, and the fact that on some weeks there will definatley only be 26-28 actually playing because of bye weeks and one could argue that one of the highest scoring positions may become even more valuable in an increased roster size (24) survivor format.....I'm still not sold on the 5 QBs going in the first round in this format. You are correct. Something I thought of, but didn't want to point out. I really wanted Trent Richardson and hoped he would still be here at 3.10. Was also looking at Murray. Seems like Screaming WR Value here at the 3/4 turn - makes me regret picking a possibly declining Roddy White in round 2 when I could get almost as much value on this turn... Who would I have taken instead? hmmmmm? Looking back, I'd really like Vernon Davis on my squad but, sometimes you get that feeling like "Ehh, I got VD at 4.01 in the last draft how can I possibly jump for him now, a round and a half earlier".... Ugggh, Wish I did!Following the last three selections of Nelson, Wallace and Julio Jones, I admit that I strongly considered each of the three and very little hope that any of them would make another round. Still was surprised that each of them went in consecutive picks.

M Vick J Cutler R Rice R Bush A Gates I went the opposite of stud WR. I like Vick's opportunity for big games but due to his huge variance I felt I needed to get my QB2 now. Really liking this team now - may reconsider when I see my WR corps later.A Johnson D Bowe K Britt J Witten Was hoping for MJD to get to me in the first, but no such luck. Felt a little easier passing on the QBs with most of the uncertainty gone that was felt in the WSL draft. Thought Witten was a bit of a stretch, but as expected all the top TE were snatched up well before my 3rd pick came up. We will see how the stud WR strategy works out for me in the next 4 rounds.

Yes. I had 3 RBs I would have taken here (Ingram and the 2 Carolina boys) even though taking 2 RBs would have left me short other slots. If both had been here, I had the same idea. If all 3 had been there, I probably would have taken Ingram and DeAngelo and left Stewart, but I hadn't decided that fully.Duckboy - if I had taken DeAngelo would you have taken Stewart? I wanted to try to lock up both at that last turn.

Not excited about the Keller pick. Pretty much a defensive pick with limited upside.
Then again, At TE9 he did have 65/815/5 Last year during a year that was IMO, as bad as it can get and now the Jets no longer have a tall target in Plax to steal TD's. No matter what, he will be Sanchez' favorite.
Ground and pound or not, as long as the OL doesn't hit the injury bug again and keeps Sanchez upright, Keller can have upside from last year.
When Mangold was out / Gimpy, Keller was USELESS and his stats show that.
Or, of course............ It can be all TEBOWMANIA.
I almost took Stewart myself but, I'm pretty heavily invested in him at this point so I took a flyer on Helu instead.

Placed myself at 1.05 because I wanted a QB (Brees or Rodgers)in the first, knew I wouldn't take a RB even if one of the top 3 fell, so I thought this spot guaranteed that.
6.12 BenJarvus Green-Ellis RB CIN
7.05 Isaac Redman RB PIT
We will see what these two teams do in the draft and the remainder of free agency, but I like the idea of getting two current starters in the 6th and 7th round.
3.05 Brandon Marshall WR CHI
4.12 Steve Johnson WR BUF
5.05 DeSean Jackson WR PHI
8.12 Darrius Heyward-Bey WR OAK
Like Marshall back with Cutler. Living in CO I had the opportunity to watch them play together a ton. I see them hooking up a bunch and with GB and DET in the division they will need to score. Also really like Johnson returning to BUF, it seems kind of weird to say that, but I like his fantasy prospects there better than even if he had maybe gone to a more prolific passing team. Just think staying there will be good for his numbers. Hopefully Jackson has put the whining and what not behind him. In a best ball format he can contribute. DHB finsihed strong with Palmer and maybe he has turned the corner and can live up to that high draft pick.
2.12 Aaron Hernandez TE NE
I think he puts up similiar numbers with the possibility of a slight increase. I don't think the new additions at WR in NE will really change how NE uses him and how often he is targeted. He only trailed Gronk/Graham/Calvin/Welker in Non RB-PPG last year in this format. In this format he is worthy of this high of a pick.
Overall: Realizing it is tough to be solid at every position I went in thinking I would make RB my weak position if I had one and that I would try the quantity over quality strategy there with the extra rounds in this draft. Feel I have a top QB and TE and that my WR group should be able to hang with most in here although a couple of guys have really strong groups already. 8th round pick was the most difficult so far from a strategy perspective as there were other positions I wanted to address. However I think DHB could be a top 30 type guy this year and presents solid value. Plus the 4 teams having the next 8 picks before my next one only have 6 WR's between them so I expect a few more to go, which may allow some of the other players I was looking at to make it back to me. I doubt DHB would have, but I could be wrong.

Anyway my picks:
QB Cam Newton
RB Adrian Peterson, Shonn Greene, Jahvid Best
WR Julio Jones, Dez Bryant, Sydney Rice, Mike Williams (TB)
TE Ed Dickson
QB - I really don't think that Newton will have a sophmore slump. If anything a training camp with his offense will only help to solidify and build on what he did last year. I was not a believer before the season and even into the season I thought he was playing beyond his abilities but I am sold now (even before this draft) that he will be a fantasy bonanza for the foreseeable future.
RB - The reports have ADP ahead of his recovery schedule. I hope that means that he'll be ready for week 1 and that the Viking offense will focus around him. Not sure what to expect from Greene - the addition of Tebow could work wonders for the NYJ running game like he did for the Broncos last year or it could expose Greene as just a journeyman type RB. I really like getting Best in the 7th round. With the troubles in the Lions backfield Best will come out on top and if he remains concussion free he should have a strong season given the weapons in the Lions offense
WR - I have four young receivers in what should be high powered offenses. I like Jones to begin to be come the 1b option to White's 1a option in the Falcon's offense. It's time for Bryant to mature and become the receiver everyone predicted that he could be. Rice will finally have a QB who can throw him the ball and I like Williams to perform well now that VJax will garner most of the coverage in TB.
TE - I waited on TE (I did this in the WSL league as well). No reason other than everytime is was going to move on a TE someone beat me to the pick and to me there was better value on the board. Still I did want to get a TE who has a shot of being in the top 10 and I think Dickson could manage that in the Raven's offense. Not saying he will but if Flacco is unleashed then Dickson will have his opportunities.
Just over a third of the roster is filled in and my guess is what will separate the winners and losers in this league going forward are the picks over the next 6-8 rounds. Picking the right support players who get the chance to step in due to injury or opportunity on their NFL teams will go a long way to making or breaking a survivor league roster.

1.05 Drew Brees QB NO
9.05 Kevin Kolb QB AZ
Felt I waited long enough and needed to get something to back up Brees. AZ pick up his $7 mil without asking him to restructure, so I gotta think he is the front runner going into the season although Skelton is a threat if Kolb gets off to a bad start or sucks preseason. With the other options that were left I felt Kolb had the best chance to put up big scoring weeks.
6.12 BenJarvus Green-Ellis RB CIN
7.05 Isaac Redman RB PIT
10.12 Pierre Thomas RB NO
Wanted Gerhart with this pick as I am not sold that ADP comes back full strength and they are talking about limiting his carries even if he is healthy which I think allows Gerhart to put up some numbers as he proved he deserves touches. ADP's injury was beyond nasty. But anyway Gerhart goes 2 picks prior to mine so Thomas is my consolation prize. Had 50 receptions last year, plays hard, Brees and his teammates love him and say that they all like it better when he is on the field. Hoping they trade Ivory. Thomas should be on the field some and I am not sold that Ingram is "the guy"....Thomas may be the better football player.
3.05 Brandon Marshall WR CHI
4.12 Steve Johnson WR BUF
5.05 DeSean Jackson WR PHI
8.12 Darrius Heyward-Bey WR OAK
Has been tough to pass up some value here the last few rounds.
2.12 Aaron Hernandez TE NE
11.05 Green Bay DST
12.12 Kansas City DST
Pretty happy with these two, especially getting KC as my second. Berry comes back to a defense that played pretty well at the end last year. GB game and holding DEN to 3 points. Won't be playing a first place schedule this year but will run into Manning twice.
Overall update: Not real excited with the last 4 picks as they all felt forced. Not my best effort. Meh.

Not a big fan, but maybe I should be as you always do well in these. Not a fan of Stafford in the first when Rivers/Romo are avialable in the 3rd. Cassell is almost a wasted pick. I wonder about Bradshaw's durability. Beanie worries me in this format with his lack of recpts and huge TD total from last year. Smith could turn out to be a great pick or a bunch or nothing. All of your WRs are hit and miss. Maybe OK in this format but I'll feel better about this group once you fill out the corps. Love the TEs and think you compete with this elite TEs with this tandem.QB - Stafford, Cassell RB - Bradshaw, Beanie, K.Smith WR - Jennings, MilesA,Decker, Randy Moss TE - Tamme,Olsen K- D- Atlanta

Thanks for the input Bass, certainly if I knew Rivers & Romo would be available at the bottom of round3 I would of made a different choice, but in WSL they were not and I prefer to have a rock solid guy. RE: Matt Cassell, could be wasted pick but I highly doubt a Tannehill or Weeden et. all comes in and displaces him. I fondly remember in one of my championship season having a combo of Rivers/Brady Quinn. Well Quinn scored a surprisingly high number of weeks for my squad. something like 4 or 5 that season. The goal after you grab your stud is just get a guy that has a job. Bradshaw and Beanie are not world beaters, but I tell you right now before the draft that their competition for carries is almost 0. Sure that could change, but Im willing to have the 65% guy on those 2 teams, and my cost was low. I always go light on my RBs particularly at RB2. Kevin Smith is THE guy to own in Detroit this year, Best is this close to never playing again and Leshoure misses 4 games plus is coming off a catastrophic injury. Kevin Smith will be on alot of my teams this Fall I agree with my TE, I think Olsen is underrated and Tamme should have his old hoss throwing him the ball, the entire Bronco situation will make or break alot of teams this year. My WRs are solid, I feel that Jennings/Miles austin provide a very nice top2. especially with Lrob out of Dallas. Decker is another Bronco roll of the dice, and Randy moss as WR4 with something to prove. Again, like I said before a little higher risk than I normally like, But I'll bet on Peyton to prove Irsay wrong. Not a big fan, but maybe I should be as you always do well in these.
