This show is funny

IMDB site

Series introduces the Robertsons, a Louisiana bayou family living the American dream as they operate a thriving business while staying true to their family values and lifestyle. Ask anyone in Louisiana and they'll tell you that the bayou state's favorite first family doesn't live in the governor's mansion but in the backwoods, where the Robertsons' rags-to-riches story is still unfolding. A homegrown mom-and-pop operation, Duck Commander has become a sporting empire by fabricating top-of-the-line duck calls and decoys out of salvaged swamp wood. This newly minted multimillionaire family is kept in line by business-savvy Willie, who runs Duck Commander with the help of his brother Jase, their respective wives Korie and Missy, patriarch and founder of the company, Phil, and uncle Si. Together they run a booming business that employs half their neighborhood, but at the end of the day, you can find the whole family around matriarch Miss Kay's dinner table.

I'm not sure there is true 'reality' television, if there ever was. What you get is a sit-com where every action and word is scripted, or "reality tv" where a general outline is provided with some ideas for a plot, and then the characters are free to make it up as they go along. What was that movie with McConaughey where a camera followed him but he had no script and was supposed to go about his normal day? Was it Ed? That would be real 'reality' tv and I doubt it would last very long.

Only complaint is they need to do away with Mountain Man. His part(s) are so the most obviously scripted and the slow-talking schtick is painfully unfunny.

A (not so) little-known fact: The Dad (Phil) was actually a stud football player who was ahead of Terry Bradshaw on the depth chart at Louisiana Tech, but gave up football because it interfered with duck hunting season. And for all the attention given to being "backwoods", Phil actually holds a Masters in English :banned:

Oh, I figured he was pretty educated...he speaks well and you can tell he just has a ton of knowledge...but he is still pretty backwoods from the standpoint of he seems he would rather just live off the land and that this whole show seems odd to him in a way.
More of something Willie is pushing over him really wanting it.

I don't think its totally just a role with him.
Look at his house/land vs. the kids.
I think Willie pushes much of the expansion to where they are over him.
Just my opinion on that.

And looking forward to the Phil/Si/Miss Kay appearance here in Nashville next April.

They are loaded

That, and supposedly back in high school they were all jocks and the captains of the football team and whatnot. And they're loaded. And they kill squirrels for their women. And they're loaded.

This. If you take a look at their book, the sons were pretty much frat looking boys in college. There is one pic of them golfing and it looks so out of place compared to the show. It is an act that makes a ton of money.

I never remember their names, only know them by whose wife it is, I'm assuming this is- Jep's wife Willie's wife Jase's wife Funny that Jase, the best looking brother, has the uhhhh....plainest wife.

Your order is mine :)

and how the hell did Jeb ("Willie's other brother") get such a hot POA for a wife?
