Who Benefits from Laurent Robinson Leaving Dallas? (1 Viewer)

Just thinking about this today scrolling through the depth charts. Do you guys think a 3rd WR steps up for the Cowboys, or does Dez/Austin/Witten benefit from increases touches (especially in the redzone)?

I guess Robinson's red zone looks (and overall receiving numbers) have to go somewhere. I'd hope Dez will finally make that leap, but that's far from a guarantee.

In reality, Robinson's inflated numbers last year were more of a result of the immense attention paid to the three guys you mention than anything Robinson did.

It'll probably be a wash across the board. The new WR3 will get some of it, Dez some it, Miles some of it (remember he was hurt a good portion of the year), and Witten some of it (to a lesser extent than the other 2 IMO).

Muddy enough answer for you?

If Robinson's inflated numbers are due to the situation, why have no other WRs been able to produce numbers remotely similar in the WR3 role in Dallas? Also, Robinson had solid production when Austin was out and Bryant was hurt.

I didn't say there wasn't talent there. Which is why I suggested that his numbers would only partially go to the new WR3.

I'd say Dez.
:goodposting: As a Dez owner last year, I was disappointed, but as long as they aren't having him receive punts and he has a full off season, I think he will be way better than expected. Not sure if you can do it easily, but feel free to watch the game against the Jets. He owned Revis (3-71 1TD) and got hurt on a punt return all in the 1st quarter. After that quarter, he was limping and didn't catch another ball. Revis got a key INT on him after he was hurt, so if you didn't watch the game it looks like Revis did well, but Bryant was hurt enough to miss the next game and definitely didn't look the same the next few weeks. That, plus the short off season set him way back and I don't think he really got up to full speed. I know that conditioning is one of the knocks on him, but I was watching that game against Revis and was thinking that he was going to have a huge year. That is until he got hurt returning a punt and missed a game.Anyway, I will go after him again as I think he could go pretty cheap and with an entire off season, we could see him breakout. I just remember a couple catches in that game (like the TD) where Revis was covering him and Dez made him look ordinary and that doesn't happen with Revis. If he ever gets his head straight like Bowe in 2010, he could be a monster. I like Austin, but Dez has the physical ability to win every ball if he wants to do so.
