Just getting the discussion going. Some folks are in a good position to start structuring their teams for playoff runs. We're halfway through the "regular season" in fantasy.A little premature, no?
the matchups are good for SD. too bad SD sucks
Chargers Defense is currently #6 in my primary money league. Chargers Defense is ranked #8 on Dodd's Top 200 Forward Defense list (Standard FBG Scoring)the matchups are good for SD. too bad SD sucksbut in the end, they are sitting on peoples waiver wires for a reason. Even the SD homers will tell you to stay away.
Oh, definitely. I'm just not ready to make any firm calls about which Ds will be good in week 15 seven weeks out.But I'm definitely putting the Chargers on my watch list, and I'll be on the lookout for news about any defensive injuries they may suffer. It might be a bit early to make moves but it's not too early to start the discussion for folks in deeper leagues.
Good post. Denver/jets combo looks really good for the playoffsLike the idea [icon] for this thread. Great idea! Here's another suggestion.16: NE (Jax), SD (NYJ), DEN (CLE), NYJ (SD), OAK (CAR)15. NE (SF), SD (CAR), DEN (BAL), NYJ (TEN), OAK (KC)14. NE (HOU), SD (PIT), DEN (OAK), NYJ (JAC), OAK (DEN)I kept SD in there as they look good, but also really liking DEN or even potentially OAK or the NYJ.
Yep, nailed it here.I did the same analysis last night and picked them up off the WW this a.m. Pairing with 49ers.Chargers Defense is currently #6 in my primary money league. Splitting their matchups to 3 good games and bad games:
3 GOOD GAMES: (OAK/TEN/KC): 4 INT / 5 SACK / 4 FUMREC / 1 DEF TD / 54 Points Allowed : AVG 16 Fantasy Points
3 BAD GAMES: (ATL/NO/DEN): 3 INT / 5 SACK / 2 FUMREC / 1 DEF TD / 83 Points Allowed : AVG 6.6 Fantasy Points
SUMMARY: Generally speaking SD has shown they can be a viable fantasy matchup-play
It might be a bit early to make moves but it's not too early to start the discussion for folks in deeper leagues. If you're in a 10 team league and have San Fran... sure... Carry on. However This discussion could prove valuable to some in deeper leagues who like to think ahead a bit.
I also like Den/Minn combo, Minn has STL WK15Good post. Denver/jets combo looks really good for the playoffsLike the idea [icon] for this thread. Great idea! So the Chargers aren't available in your league but the Texans and Cardinals are?Not waiver wire but Texans are at home Week 15 vs Colts and Week 16 vs MIN. Arizona at home vs DET week 15 and CHI week 16 also looks good. Otherwise, Jets have a great schedule down the stretch.
You're right. Maybe I should have put it in the first three words. Oh wait...I was able to trade a bench guy for the Texans D. Do you trade in your league? So the Chargers aren't available in your league but the Texans and Cardinals are?Not waiver wire but Texans are at home Week 15 vs Colts and Week 16 vs MIN. My money's on the Jets. Already picked them up in one league with no intention of playing them till week 14 (15 if I get the bye).Like the idea [icon] for this thread. Great idea! I've always meant to look up past stats, but never got around to it. But I don't think a DST vs. an unknown QB is a good play.A lot of QBs with no prior exposure have turned it on for a few weeks at the end of the year. It seems that until defensive coordinators have a few games worth of tape on a guy, they aren't as able to plan for him or something. Billy Volek was the epitome of this... guy with no tape to research shows up out of nowhere and for 3 games is the best QB that ever played the game. I think Ryan Fitzpatrick may have started out similarly. Matt Flynn had that big game last year.I'm not talking about a backup getting called up midgame, or a career 2nd-stringer that's appeared here and there through the years, or played in preseason or something like that; I'm talking about a QB that has no prior NFL starts and no game tape to watch, but, has a full week of 1st team reps in practice knowing he's the next week's starter. Those guys are guys you want to avoid having to rely on a DST against. Some team or two will be rolling out a backup or rookie QB down the line as the season gets out of hand and those are always teams to pounce on in terms of DST matchups late in the year, I just don't see them yet.
I picked up the Colts for the JAX game - I'm going to hang on to them. Not sure about Oakland at this point - may have to find a better option.i hate carrying 2 defenses but these teams are likely on the wireweek 14 IND vs TENweek 15 OAK vs KCweek 16 IND vs KC![]()
With the exception of the Pats week 12 it looks very good:Rams (7 INT/25 sacks)Cardinals (8 INT/41 sacks)Jaguars (7 INT/25 acks)Titans (7 INT/17 sacks)Chargers (12 INT/25 sacks)Jets have a great schedule down the stretch.
That's my play. For next week, I'm thinking of grabbing the Rams vs AZ but otherwise the Jets look solid with that schedule. Their defense has not been the problem.
TB has PHL at home and STL at home weeks 14/16. Looking for a good week 15 option. Holding GB who plays Chicago week 15, who had a great game earlier this year against Cutler. May run with this, as GB/Chicago usually play good defensive gamesWith the exception of the Pats week 12 it looks very good:Rams (7 INT/25 sacks)Cardinals (8 INT/41 sacks)Jaguars (7 INT/25 acks)Titans (7 INT/17 sacks)Chargers (12 INT/25 sacks)Jets have a great schedule down the stretch.
Hope so. Only carrying one defense, and I am rolling with the PackGB actually looks fairly good from here on out to me...
Not concerned about weeks 13 & 15?10 Den @ Car11 Den vs SD12 Den @ KC13 Den VS TB14 Den @ Oak15 Den @ Bal16 Den vs Cletasty.
Rolling ATL/CLE/ oak, based Alomost exclusively on the kc matchups.I like the Jets schedule, the problem with their defense is their offense.KC closes:CINDENCARAT CLEAT OakIndyI'd say you could get most of those defenses in advance and just start rolling them. The Browns & Broncs may be owned. The Jets do go to Jax in wk 14 and Mia gets Jax at home wk 15.I'm still wary of the Jets & Chargers because of their own offensive woes, they could be deemed good matchups for the other side as well. The Jags also have a terrible tendency to score garbage points ruining a potentially great DST day. look at last week, the Lions destroyed the Jags but in my main league they just giot an 8 point DST day. In the playoffs you want a big, big scoring day. Some team or two will be rolling out a backup or rookie QB down the line as the season gets out of hand and those are always teams to pounce on in terms of DST matchups late in the year, I just don't see them yet.
