the new york jets?

remaining schedule is:

home vs arz

@ jax

@ ten

home sd

jets aren't great but the qbs in all these matchups are either garbage, rookies, or turn the ball over a ton. these teams also will prob struggle to score. good sleeper def for the playoffs or what?

I will pass on them ... they are about to implode with an immolation the likes of which NY sports hasn't seen in years.

For week 13 I am rolling Carolina@KC.

Hate taking the road team, but i will use them as the inly option i like on the wire this week ... will hold the Browns for week 14 home vs same KC Chefs.

I get 'em 2 weeks in a row.

hard to argue for NYJ. Just pointing out these match ups are tasty. trying to decide if NYJ is a better play then GB in these games. GB def is really struggling...

After a few weeks of success with the weekly D/ST waiver wire pickup, I finally got burned with the Cards yesterday. I actually thought about grabbing St. Louis instead, but talked myself into going with the home team.

I am looking to redeem myself with the Jets this weekend. Other options are the Bengals or possibly the Chargers.

I picked up Cincy last week and have been very satisfied. I'm riding them out.

Not sure if this will turn into the Week 13 defense thread but if it does I like the Bills. Their pass rush is starting to come on and the Jags had all kinds of problems trying to protect Henne yesterday against the Titans.

One of my favorite threads every week St Louis got me the win this week... I am thinking Browns or Bengals mainly because they are the only ones with good matchups available in my league.

10 team leagueI noticed SD and NYG are on WWI have been rolling with HOU and have been very disappointed with them getting 4 pts this week and ZERO last week.SD has tough matchup week 10 vs CIN but weeks 14 @ PIT, week 15 vs CAR and week 16 @ NYJ. I maybtry to grab them and hold HOU for week 13 @ TEN and then drop b/c week 14 @NEP, IND and MIN.NYG looked awesome last night and seemed matchup proof with the way they played vs GB.Week 13@WAS. 14 NOS, 15@ATL 16@BALI like SD's matchup but NYG could be fine?

Thanks to Plorflu in the Beanie thread for this link.

Arizona just lost their starting center.

That has got to be good news for this Jets team defense. 3rd string rookie QB and now the center goes down. This has week 13 juicy matchup written all over it.

For those in a desperate scenario to get into the playoffs it could be that extra couple of points that puts them over the top. If the Jets are going to win it's going to be with defense.

Cincy is prob the best option on my WW. Going to try to grab them and start them from here on out over AZ.

The Jets D at home vs. ARZ is a solid matchup. But I wouldn't start them against anybody on the road. The matchups @ JAX and @ TEN are fool's gold. I honestly think TEN will destroy them by at least 2 scores.

St Louis, they are starting to take to Fisher, his benching of a couple key rookies who both responded hard this past week, the RAMS, after SF, it's @Buf, MN

Agreed. I picked them up 2 weeks ago and have had 2 solid performances v. MIA and IND. Four December home games to follow--vs. Jags, hawks, Rams and Jets with a roadie at Miami.

Ok I'm definitely not going with Carolina again. Went with them this week over cincy. Not making that mistake again.

Did you guys not see the Jets completely demolished on thanksgiving? Wouldn't touch them at all. Just an awful team all over.

Teams that have trouble moving the ball on offense (NYJ, SD) create liabilities for their DST, especially when you combine that with turnover proneness.

With that said, SD has seemingly stepped it up lately, so I am looking at picking either them or the Bills up this week to pair with the Bengals for RoS.

Ive held onto the Jets for 3 weeks waiting for this stretch. I need them big this week. On the brink in one league. 6 Teams for 2 spots.

I'm actually contemplating picking up the Cardinals D because of this. Rams vs. 49ers and Chargers vs. Bengals just don't cut it.

I'm actually considering starting the Rams D at home vs. the 49ers.

Divisional match-up, at home. Likely going to be a low scoring game IMO. That, or pick up Cardinals vs. the Jets (more likely scenario).

WW is bare as ####.

I'm torn about the Jets...They have great fantasy matchups: 13 vs Ari, 14 @ Jax, 15 @ Ten, 16 vs SD, and 17 @ Buf.

As of right now, I've got the browns for two weeks (13 @ oak, 14 vs KC) but then I'm deciding between Jets or Bengals for the remaining weeks.

Jets are tempting. I'll stick with the Denvers except week 15. I am leaning STL vs Minn.

Denver's not on my waivers, although I'm not sure I'd start them this week either vs TB.

Dallas or The Jets this week could be quite nice.

And like others have mentioned if Cincy is on your WW I'd grab them to hold.

... looking ahead to first week of playoffs, Tampa Bay hosts the :tfp: that is the Iggles.

If you scooped Cincy, and can pair them with TB, that gives you two weeks in a row vs. Philly (14/15)

Week 16 gives Cincy @ Pitt, TB hosting Rams. :coffee:

Best balling the Bills and the Jets the next four weeks because the waiver wire shuts after this week. As mentioned, the Jets get AZ at home this week, and then SD at home week 16. Figure cold weather by then, and a west coast team that will be out of it traveling across the country to play the weekend before Christmas. (While scheduled for Sunday night, no way that doesn't get flexed out of that spot to earlier in the day.) Cold weather should also favor the Bills at home in Weeks 13 and 14 outdoors against southern and indoor opponents, but remember Week 15 is at the Rogers Center in Toronto.

Before the dismantling by the Patriots, the Jets had two good defensive performances. Good playoff schedule. I picked them up to compliment the Broncos.

Agree. I picked them up as well. Still holding Carolina from last week. Could also pick up Buffalo although I would have to drop someone like Lloyd or B Tate (who I am still holding as a lottery ticket). Cleveland does not excite me. They may get a couple sacks/turnovers this week but I think they might give up some points to the Raiders. Next week they play KC. Should be low scoring, but more conservative game will net fewer TO opportunities. Plus Charles could gash them, although their run D has been better the last couple weeks since Taylor and Rubin are finally both healthy.

Really like the Bills this week at home vs. Jax.
I think the JAgs offense has been much improved with Henne in there. Bills defense wasn't that great to begin with. Risky play if you ask me.
Jags' offense has been better with Henne but they gave up 7 sacks to the Titans last week. Bills have 7 sacks the last two weeks so they're starting to apply more pressure. They've also done a good job against the run the last two games. Bush/Thomas and Ballard all struggled against them. I think Henne will have success but I also think the Bills could get a nice amount of points this week. I also like them as a sleeper pick.

Been riding the Patriots the last 2 weeks, and picked up the Bengals DST to pair the rest of the way. I'm looking at

Wk 13 NE @ MIA OR CIN @ SD

Wk 14 NE v HOU CIN v DAL

Wk 15 NE v SF CIN @ PHI

Wk 16 NE @ JAX CIN @ PIT

Wk 17 NE v MIA CIN v BAL

I picked up the Jets due to the matchup this weekend, but am giving consideration to the Bills. One thing to remember with Buffalo is McKelvin is a great return guy and can take a kick/punt to the house at any time. Not sure the Jets offer that threat.

Joe McKnight is a good return man for the Jets.

Cowboys versus eagles? Or too many injuries?
People have made the playoffs this year in fantasy solely by grabbing the defense the Eagles play against for the past 5 weeks.
Yeah, I played them against the Eagles two weeks ago and they got two TDs. I live in Cowboy land, but don't pay attention enough to know, but a friend has said they'd lost 5 starters on their defense and didn't know how they might be affected. How's there run D. Will the 1 week emergence of Bryce Brown continue against them?

Been rolling with the Pats. Week 16 NE @ Jax used to look great but now it has me somewhat guarded. I've been making plans for week 14-15 vs HOU & SF.I'm going with the Pats this week, CLE vs KC next week, and hope to get OAK (vs KC week 15) and Indy (@KC week 16) next and doing it early. The week 15 OAK matchup might be the only one that concerns me. The Raiders' D is so bad. They are dead last as DST in my main league, their one good week came against.... KC in Arrowhead (14 points).

Really warming up to the Bills this week. They played INDY indoors pretty well. Expected damage to be a lot worse. The last 3-4 weeks, the Bills D has improved. Now, a Jax team that may be feeling a little better than it should rides into Buffalo, where the forecast calls for precipitation and wind. The two best options I see this week on my wire are Carolina and Buffalo. Think I'm leaning Buffalo in a game where too many people get sucked into the Henne hype only to see it all blow up.KY
