Anyone rolling with J Rodgers tonight? (1 Viewer)

groin pains

Footballguy
I am thinking of rolling with J Rodgers today in my PPR + return yardage league. I would bench J. Dwyer or K. Moreno for him. I am hoping he gets at least 10 touches in the running game with 3 receptions tonight.

What are your feeling about Quizz??

I came here looking for this thread actually. I'm using 2 of quizz beanie Dwyer dmc this week. I might flip coins.

But the recent talk of a rbbc and vs the worst of all time makes him pretty tempting. Esp in ppr

Yeah I'm probably going to start him at flex unless I hear something really positive today about Amendola. It's a good enough matchup and the Falcons have been getting him more involved lately. But the fact that it is such a poor D that they are playing makes me wonder if the passing game and Turner will succeed enough where Quizz doesn't get many touches.

Certainly could be an interesting start tonight. Looks like Atlanta wants to get him more involved. He's a decent receiver out of the backfield and a pretty good runner in passing situations.

My guess:

8 carries 35yds, 5rec 35yds 1TD

That's about what I'm thinking except I'm not expecting a TD. Would still be 12 points in my league making it a little below average flex start but I'd take it. But a TD or a long run or catch that adds on some extra points is possible I guess, which is why I'll probably start him.

I'm rolling with Turner and Rodgers. My options are slim though. Bilal Powell and Shane Vereen are the other options.

They played the Saints on the road a few weeks ago and he got3 rush for 294 recp for 33
He was a yard short of a TD in that game as well.Falcons at home in Prime time in a must win for both teams. I think this will be a shoot out and Falcons will need to use Quizz more as Turner has not been getting it done between the 20's for the most part. They already want use him more and see that happening tonight. He is a homerun hitter who I think hits one tonight. I am starting him over a bunch of scrubs like Mathews, Wells, and R. Jennings as well.

I'm not as optimistic as you but I'm hoping you're right. I'm most likely starting him too and looking forward to watching some of the game tonight.

This is more what I would expect, not as good as last week. The announcers on the TB/Atlanta game mentioned how they were using Rodgers more because he could get outside the tackles better and that was effective against Tampa Bay versus the 11-17 of Turner. I would be more worried that Turner is effective and if he is, then Rodgers could get a lot less carries. Not sure if Rodgers last week was more of a one week game plan versus a changing of the guard. I would be real worried starting him because Ryan will be a lot more effective through the air and Turner on the ground and Rodgers could end up having a bad game. For folks like me who have 2 big games this weekend to either become a wild card playoff team or get a 1st round bye, I wouldn't risk it and I don't even have Rodgers in those 2 leagues. I just figured I would pipe in because I live in Charlotte and so I got the TB/Atlanta game and watched all of it.

I thought last week was the first time Quizz looked good running the ball. He's been good as a receiver for the most part but I thought he's looked slow and sluggish with his rushing attempts. But last week he ran with more juice and it came against a pretty solid Tampa Bay run defense. If he runs like that tonight against the Saints he could get double-digit carries. If he gets those on top of the 3-5 receptions he typically gets per game he could put up a nice night in PPR leagues even without a TD.

That was exactly my concern too...that as bad as Turner has looked he could actually succeed enough where Quizz doesn't get many touches. He could go back to only getting 7 - 8 touches in stead of 12 or so he got last week. I know the coaches talk about getting him more involved but until that happens several games in a row we won't know for sure. I agree it is a risk if you are in a must win game. Luckily I can be a bit more careless because I have everything locked up.Edit to add...But interestingly, I just checked Turners numbers during that last Saints matchup and he only managed 13 carries for 15 yards...a terrible day overall. So they could be looking to not repeat that by giving it to Rogers more.

I'm rolling the dice and starting him. I've got DMC, Moreno, and Dwyer on the bench..but against the Saints I like his matchup. I'm not expecting a huge game..but praying for a TD as I need the win.

Didn't look bad when he was in, but it was a weird game with the Falcons' offense strangely absent from the field for most of it.

This timeshare stuff with Turner is nonsense. Until fumbling, Turner was doing the heavy lifting and looks like the red zone guy despite what some may have thought was changing. As for PPR, Snelling was more of a pass target than Rodgers.

So I am sorry I started "Quizz." He may mean something in week 17, but he didn't get much of a shot tonight.
