Funny...my lineups were littered with those guys and I'm looking at my worst week in a while. 50/50 cuts are very high this week. The expert cut is above the usual standard cut. Did better on the Thur and Primetime starts...the Sunday stats killed me.

Well then.....I could use a new PC. One with one of the new i7 chips. Would settle for an 80" LCD though.

I got pissed at Fanduel...an attempted deposit ended up with my bank account frozen because they were based in England.

Really? Promoting a sister site by promoting yourself... Ahhh, good to see small biz fitting in with corporate America!

:goodposting: Ditto on that ... had to go to branch office to right the ship.
Sorry about that. We (FanDuel) are trying to get things set up so that possibility becomes a thing of the past. When the company was founded, all employees and bank accounts were in Scotland. We now have about half of our employees in the U.S. and have U.S. bank accounts...but there are still some leftover parts of the payment process that aren't especially easy to change. Just to make sure that we understand what's going on, it would be useful if you guys could provide me with some details about what happened - what kind of deposit were you making, what bank was it, etc. If you'd rather not post here, feel free to PM me, or email me at alex@fanduel.com.

Where I used the Seattle D, I won. Otherwise, otherwise.

Also guys. If you once had but have now lost interest in the NBA, lemme tell ya, Fan Duel makes the long boring season a lot of fun. There is something about the way everything is settled in one evening, points coming in bunches, and leader boards quickly changing -- that makes a night of NBA a real kick. I've found myself tuning into NBA games when NFL games are on! That has never happened despite me being a hoops junky too. There's a thread in the FFA with lineups and thoughts posted daily. Join us.

this is pathetic. fanduel is a shady site that promotes college sports gambling. christmas is suppose to be about religion and morality you were taught from it, not shady site gambling. Ironic.

I wish I knew more about basketball just so I can keep Fanduelling once football season ends. I've cashed out my initial deposit and am up about 4X right now. Maybe I'll get into fantasy beisbol, instead.

out of curiosity... does anyone know why when you play a Sunday 1p contest that I get the confirmation emails that the contest has filled and is starting at like 3:30p??? Shouldn't it fill before the games start?

I should hope that the kickbacks this site is getting from FanDuel are enough to pay for everyone's holiday gifts.

Is Fanduel a gambling site or something? Can someone give me the cliff's notes?
Think weekly fantasy site. They take the juice, but you can play in a wide variety of games where you pick your weekly team based on a set salary.Expert = 55k salaryStandard = 60k salaryBeginner = 65k salaryTeh 50/50 leagues referenced above pay out if you finish in the top half of a contest... Usually has 20 players in it, so if you finish in the top 10, you win $9 on a $5 entry.

FanDuel is definitely not a gambling site. The Unlawful Internet Act provided a carve out for fantasy sports and FanDuel falls into that category.

Congrats on your victory. You are a great guy, and I'm sure you will use a portion of your winnings to help those in need during this time of year.

This looks like an amazing troll attempt. If this isn't serious then it was amazingly entertaining. If it's serious..... oh my.

Really? Why is there agendas being pushed in here? Good grief. If I ate popcorn I'd be popping it right now and watching this thread.

Yes, I usually use your 60K lineup and create one of my own. Yours pays off most of the time, my own pays off maybe 50-60% of the time. This week I was lazy so I just used your lineup. Your 60K roster was a good one this week. Thanks Santa Dodds!

P.S. I did notice an opponent had the exact same lineup...so either a big coincidence or your article is catching on.

Thats all well and good, but anyone with common sense knows fanduel is gambling, and its only a matter of time before it goes away like pokerstars.

Good one. Bet money against others. Declare that it's not gambling. :lmao: I'll try this gambling site out. If it's at all like online poker, it should be easy $.

shouldn't this come with a sponsored thing in the title like it does on twitter? I'm only sort of kidding, but congrats on your great run and hopefully the people here used your picks

both fanduel and fantasy football are forms of gambling according to common sense but not according to the law.pokerstars had 50 million registered users. fanduel has maybe 20,000. they didn't take down all of the poker sites, just the 3 largest. fantasy sports are just too small to ever get on the governments radar. nothing to worry about, at least not for a few more decades.the espn fantasy sites are much more likely to get shut down than fanduel is.

It's no different than paying to pay yearly fantasy football.
And how is that not gambling? Sure, it's a game of skill but so is Poker. Of course it's a gambling site.

Some serious nerdery in here.

That's GAMBLING!!! it's WRONG!!! IM TELLING!!!

What are you dip####s doing on a fantasy football site if you have a moral aversion to the hobby? You guys just like dominating the Christian Free Yahoo leagues where you can take Tebow at 1.01 and talk smack about each others turtlenecks? :lmao:

Well it is calling a spade, a spade. I think people are always a bit fearful when websites seem to be in cahoots and start peddling each other. Just look at SBR and the sports books they peddle. Fanduel is gambling and saying anything else is dishonest and even labeling it a skill game doesn't make it any less gambling just like betting on sports is gambling even though there are skilled betters.

Cool. The stock market is gambling too, but that doesn't stop the vast majority of Americans from putting their life savings in it. If fanduel is gambling then all fantasy football is gambling... Yet YOU'RE STILL HERE at this FANTASY FOOTBALL WEBSITE. :lmao: Do you guys walk into a bar, order a coffee, then yell at everyone about the evils of alcohol? Take your goodie goodie asses to Starbucks. Did it ever occur to you guys that it might not be wise, for someone who's fiscal well being is tied to this industry's SC exemption, to entertain any discussion that flies in the face of said exemption? Do you guys REALLY expect him to go on record against that even IF he actually believed that? C'mon... You guys are apparently able to operate a computer so surely you're brighter than that. And regardless of how you feel about the ratio of skill/luck of FFL.... It's childish as hell of the tools in this thread pitching tantrums over Dodds post. Is he cross promoting? Of course he is... He's a smart businessman. If you have issues with how he conducts business (which seems silly since nobody made anyone open this thread), then I'm sure there are more effective outlets for your protest. Not speaking solely to you but to some of the other posters in this thread.

this thread is amazing...

"not a gambling site..." hilarious. Walks like a duck, sounds like a duck.. looks like a duck...

all we need is edjr telling us to kill ourselves if we fanduel and it would be legendary.

Didn't mean to start up a big stupid discussion about gambling. Just trying to figure out what the heck Fanduel is. I went to the site and I think I get it now.

I think there was only one person talking about morality in this thread and I'm pretty sure he was fishing. My post and others are just the opposite, responding to Dodds seemingly taking the moral high ground by emphatically saying it is not gambling when he knows damn well it is. Dodds makes his living as a professional gambler and FBG exists because of gambling. Nothing wrong with that and I'm not speaking to the legality of it. I just think it's funny that some people try to deny it.

Calm down. If you reread the thread you are throwing a bigger tantrum than anyone else. It's clearly gambling. I live in Vegas, and I'll gamble on freakin anything, so no morality judgement here. Plenty of people play in free leagues, so not everyone who comes to this site automatically agrees with gambling. And playing a year long season with nine friends is a lot different than betting on one week with someone you don't know or investing in stocks. Hell, buying life insurance is gambling if you want to take the analogy far enough, but that doesn't mean you can equate all of them. I personally don't mind the thread, but many would agree that if he was instead promoting a pay NFL tout service that would be crossing a line. "Paying for my Xmas gifts again this week with Homers's Shoe In of the Week service!" (Which we have a business stake in)I think this is on some continuum with that. Not the same thing, but getting there. If he posts this thread on his forum, people have a right to comment. That's why it's called a forum.

I personally love FanDuel, and have no problem whatsoever with the FBG's and FanDuel relationship. I love Fantasy Football just as much as the next guy on these boards but when my teams all start to bottom out near the end of the year it is nice to have a fall back option of Daily Fantasy and get a fresh start each week.

The only problem I have had so far with the relationship is the 2 weeks that they opened up the FBG's FD Championship up to the public, thought that was a bad deal for all FBG's members. I think that was more FanDuel's fault then anyone here, as they were trying to get every dollar they could out of a game that is clearly a FBG's only contest.
