Just figured I'd share a couple things I found helpful recently:
Baby swing- I'm talking about those swings that take 4 D batteries and swing back & forth, usually with a mobile & music/sounds. For a while our newborn would ONLY sleep in his lamb swing. He would swing away for hours at a time. We were going through a ton of batteries and they're not cheap. So I removed the batteries and took an old 5 volt cell phone charger, cut the connector off, separated, stripped, and tinned the wires, then soldered the wires to the battery terminals. Now I can just plug the swing into the wall outlet, no mote batteries, works like a charm!
It also occurred to me yesterday that since my wife and I both have iphones with face time that we could use them as a makeshift monitor when needed. Simply make a face time call to each other and focus one of the phones on the kid(s). The other phone is now a monitor.
