Given the scarcity at the RB position in the NFL, and the depth of the WR spot in this particular draft I think West, Freeman, and Williams have to be the next three picks, unless you have a man-crush on Martavis Bryant which I can totally understand.

To be fair, I am saying I wouldn't argue if you took him with a late 2nd rounder. I would not consider him with a 1st or early 2nd. The players available now all have legitimate question marks. As you noted, Bryant has questionable hands, but he is also 6' 4", runs a 4.4 and is good at getting the ball at its highest point. Like I said, I would still take all 3 RBs available over him, but if Bryant hits he has a very high ceiling.

I have Charles Sims ahead of those RB and 12th overall. So I have been voting for him for awhile now.

As far as Bryant he offers most of what one is looking for in a starting WR in the NFL and it is possible he becomes one as well. But as mentioned by ShaHBucks he has issues with catching and with route running. I also read that he may need a year in a NFL strength program before he is ready to deal with press and blocking. Rob Rang compares him to Stephen Hill. So that indicates long term project.

In a less talented WR draft class a player like Bryant would most likely be in the top 10 WR prospects. I currently have him as WR 12 but I am thinking about moving Latimer ahead of him as well.

He makes Stephen Hill look like Larry Fitzgerald catching the ball. I have no problem with drafting anyone as a project, but he might be drafted like a B player with hopes of being a B+ player when right now when he is really a D. He had a fringe NFL QB throwing him the ball and Sammy Watkins getting all the attention. There is no excuse for his play. One 100+ yard game in his whole career.

I only play PPR, so Sims went a while ago. I agree on Sims, seems like he might be a bargain given his upside.

Bryant strikes me as a high risk, high reward type of guy, which is generally what I am looking for this late in the draft. Stephen Hill strikes me as an accurate comparison. Had Hill hit you would have had a size, speed freak at bargain basement prices. Alas, he did not hit. The same might happen with Bryant. I am not saying go out and trade up to get him, but late second, early third seems like a spot I would gamble on him in a 12 team dynasty draft.

You make a lot of good points, I may have to bump Bryant down slightly to a mid-to-late third round pick.

Oh I see. I was talking about Sims still being available in the standard league voting. While not as friendly of a format for him as PPR that is still a lot of yards off of receptions to consider.

I agree Bryant is a risky pick. He has a lot of good qualities at the same time that make him worth paying attention to. I would consider him for a developmental roster spot in deeper leagues where I would hold him for a few seasons much like people have done with Hill and many other WR projects before.

I do not like tying up many roster spots with players like this. In a less talented WR group he is the kind of WR who still has enough potential that someone in your league likely will though.

I see Bryant being a 3rd round dynasty pick (which in short roster leagues means below replacement level) because of the depth of the draft class.

In a average draft class I think a player like Bryant usually is a 2nd round pick possibly pushing to a 1st round pick if drafted to a good situation.

My general philosophy on players who are considered projects is to let someone else have them, then look to buy low later on if the players situation looks good to me. Simply because I do not have the patience to hang on to a player giving me zero that long when that roster spot could be put to better use.

I have him ranked as the 12th WR and in similar range as-

WR Donte Moncrief
WR Cody Latimer
WR Martavis Bryant
WR Jeff Janis
