Looking to fill a spot in large roster IDP Dynasty league

10 May 2013 - 05:03 PM

This Badlands league has been running for 8 years now and we are looking to fill one spot.

53 man rosters

IDP

PPR

Total Starters: 17 Number of Starting QBs: 1 Number of Starting RBs: 1-3 Number of Starting WRs: 3-5 Number of Starting TEs: 1-3 Number of Starting PKs: 1 Number of Starting DT+DEs: 2-3 Number of Starting LBs: 2-3 Number of Starting CB+Ss: 2-3

This is a bragging rights league. The only cost is a yearly fee to cover the cost of the MFL site (~$6 each year per team)

It has a bunch of very solid and competitive owners including the Fantasy "Taz"  - Jim Day.

The team can be found here: http://football7.myf...522&O=07&F=0009

We are looking to begin our annual rookie draft very soon once the league is filled.

Probably looking for an owner with some IDP experience and possibly dynasty league experience. Each applicant will be judged on a case by case basis, but I might and probably will ask for a fantasy football reference or two unless I know you or you know someone already in the league.

Any insurance salesman here?

01 February 2013 - 05:25 PM

Little back story:
BS in human performance and wellness
MEd in sports management
Lost my job in 2010 at a local YMCA in 2010 due to corporate restructuring
Wife and 2 kids in grade school

Been applying for work in my field since early 2011 with multiple interviews but no job offers. I am currently working in the manufacturing industry driving a forklift. Honest work but doesn't pay much. Struggling to make ends meet which sucks. I have been offered a job with Insphere insurance selling health, life, etc (basically everything except auto). Never been in sales and job is 100% commission.

I think it is a job I can be successful at, eventually. Wife is apprehensive due to the total commission part which I understand, but the ability to make more money is enticing.

Anyone with experience with this company or selling this type of insurance? Any advice or opinions?

I know you get out of it what you put into it and I have no problem with long hours, but having a hard time leaving a steady check for the unknown.

In the market for a new...

24 January 2013 - 04:20 PM

Well my old laptop crapped out on me and the repair shop said it would be ~$400 to fix the screen, fan, and other problems. Obviously this is more then I would want to put into a 3 year old laptop. So I am in the market for something new.

I am looking to go fairly inexpensive (<$500) since I don't do much with this except surf the web, maybe some simple word processing, and playing some online games.

Some things I would like to have:
- prefer to have an HDMI port so it can be connected to TV if I want to view something on a larger screen
- minimum 15" screen if a laptop
- doesn't need a large amount of storage since most things (pics, documents, files) are stored on our desktop and I can connect to that via our home network
- I do watch Netflix through this while the kids are using the main TV and the wife is watching our other HDTV in the bedroom

I have never had a tablet, but was wondering about the 8.9" Kindle Fire HD, or something similar.

I am sure there are other things that I am not looking at that I should be concerned with, but haven't done much research yet (that is what the FFA is for right?).

Any suggestions out there on solid products or things that I really should have?

Anyone have a solid live stream of this event this morning?

Stump Removal

24 July 2012 - 12:40 PM

I removed some shrubs from the front of our house and have the stumps remaining. I was able to remove 3 of the 6 stumps with a shovel and landscape bar, the others are proving to be a PITA.

Does anyone have experience removing stumps with chemicals? Any recommendations on products or things you learned that would be helpful?
