Every pundit I have heard has said he his the best rated WR prospect since AJG and Julio.

That's why busts are busts--they were expected to be good.  Every pundit you've heard praise Watkins has been wrong a lot

As you said; it's all opinion at this point and I could be wrong just as easily as you could.

And that is why this hobby is fun.  None of us really have much of an idea but we all think we do...

Watkins will be a viable starter for maybe 12 years

I think this is where most will disagree with you.  There is a 50/50 chance that Watkins busts completely.  Above and beyond that--planning 12 years out is a bit of a stretch for most of us.

Coop you may be right but I am not of that opinion.  Every pundit I have heard has said he his the best rated WR prospect since AJG and Julio.  There is risk in McCoy also has as with any RB he is more apt to get injured.  Also he has some of his PPR value going to Sproles this year...

If I am wrong then I will be wrong.  But if I am right then I get probably twice the number of Fantasy points over the course of the remaining careers of Watkins vs. McCoy.  As far as planning for 12 years no one does but like I said in 5 years McCoy will be 31 year old RB and not worth near as much as Watkins will be at a 26 year old WR.

Like I said I could be wrong.  Most people didn't have Gordon with his high ranking he has now in Dynasty...

Not involved.

Team A gets:  McCoy

Team B gets: 1.1

I imagine it shouldn't be long before team B is able to get 1.01 without needing to trade for it.

Keep in mind that you only have to start 1 RB in this league and he also has Lacy and Spiller.  Older RB's don't carry much value (even though McCoy is only turning 26).

The definition of "older RBs" keeps getting younger and younger.  Next thing you know, we'll be trading 23/24 year old rbs, trying to get out from under the "old" label.

I am actually the person who made this deal.  Hyper Active leagues use a format of 1QB, 1RB, 1 WR, 1 TE and 4 WR/RB/TE flex positions.  Most of the people in these leagues approach this setup with WR's being a highly valued asset.  Most of the guys in these leagues are highly respected posters or staff at either FBG, DLF and in one case works for ESPN.  The worth of WR's are gold.  I tried moving McCoy in multiple offers for the top 8 or so WR and got no where.  I believe in Watkins and think in 3 years he will be top 5 or so at WR and maybe overall as Green, Julio etc.. get older.

It's a risky deal but it is very expensive to get top WR's in Hyper Active leagues.  As far as the age of the RB's getting older that is somewhat true but Watkins will be a viable starter for maybe 12 years and McCoy will likely not be in the NFL at all in maybe 6 or 7 years and his trade value will take a hit in about 2/3 years.  I took over a team with no 2014 picks and only 2 in 2015 so this is a good gamble on youth to core my team forward..

Way too much for Patterson IMO.

I like Patterson but I would agree

Guilty as charged.  Gave up a lot but sometimes you have a feeling about a player.  Hyper Active leagues from what I have seen are notorious for WR value of young WR's.  I have looked at DLF and talked to some board posters about what they thought about Patterson and the 2 guys I talked to said top 10WR.  I have Jeffries, Patterson, and will add on whoever (Likely Watkins) at 1.1 so i have value going forward at that position.  Reed was the key to the deal and they only one I regret having to add.

In Topic: [Dynasty] 2014 Draft Prospects

I know it's as early as it gets, but I'm having trouble organizing the rookie values for 2014 compared existing rosters. For example, I have the 1.1 in a dyno as well as a 1.10, 1.12, and 1.16. A guy in the league has the 3 and 4 picks. Are his 2 picks much more valuable than my 1.1? Maybe offer Lacy for both of his picks? Or is it way lopsided? That would result in some combo of Watkins, Hyde, and maybe Mason. Things will shake up, but is it better to move for picks now with the unknown or wait it out? Having 3 of the top 4 picks would be stellar, but what value is going to be expected?

I'd say hang onto Lacy and the #1. Of course there is value in having multiple top picks, i.e. more chances to hit big. But those players  are all potential right now until they play an NFL game. Whereas Lacy has done it and well. Also the value of the #1 can only increase with time. You'll have a better feel after the combine and draft for what the top5 may look like.

I think I would stay put as well and take who you feel is best at 1.1 and see who falls in your other 3 picks. In my 12 team ppr league just about everyone needs RB help so despite this RB class being supposedly weak I think they will go higher than they normally would allowing WR to fall.  Since this WR class is deep you could load up on WR at the bottom end and be happy with what you get. I guess it all just comes down to what teams 2-9 really need and if they draft based on need or BPA.

A quick mock of my league based on biggest need:

Seastrunk

Watkins

Bridgewater

Evans

Carey

Ebron

Lee

Benjamin

Mason

Hyde

Amaro

Sankey

From what I heard in your league Boltz 1.1 will be BPA, no matter the position...
