Its only a matter of time right?   Until it happens feel free to place bets, guess dates, and decide which scandal will be used.

Some early contenders:

Benghazi -Mike Huckabee: "As bad as Watergate was — because it broke the trust between the president and the people — no one died"

                 - Jack Burkman - Benghazi was "much worse" than 9/11

                 - Jim Infofe-  "Of all the great coverups in history — the Pentagon papers, the Iran-Contra, Watergate and all the rest of them, this is going to go down as the most serious.  People may be starting to use the I-word.:

Solyndra- Michelle Bachmann: Solyndra “makes Watergate look like child’s play.”

Gun Control  Steve Stockman:  I will seek to thwart this action by any means necessary, including but not limited to eliminating funding for implementation, defunding the White House, and even filing articles of impeachment.

IRS  George Will brought up Impeachment.

What is USA's Post WWII War Record? Show your work

21 April 2013 - 05:39 PM

So I was watching Stripes last week, and Bill Murray exclaimed:

We're American soldiers! We've been kicking ### for 200 years! We're 10 and 1!

I started thinking that I have no idea what America's post-WWII record actually is.   Maybe you want to count the Cold War, Beirut, Somalia, Grenada, Panama or Kosovo.  Maybe you want to combine Iraq and Afghanistan, in a War against Terror.  Maybe you think the US lost in Iraq.  The List of 170 or so post WWII US Military Conflicts are shows here: http://en.wikipedia....45.E2.80.931949

I've got us at:

 • Korea (tie) - Although traditionally thought to be a win, I think dealing with NK over the last 60+years cant be considered a win.
 • Vietnam (loss) - The lessons of Vietnam were remembered for the Gulf War and forgotten since.
 • Gulf War I (win) - I was surprised to see many don’t count this.
 • Iraq (win) - Although I think long term this will be a loss.
 • Afghanistan(tie) - Also, long term may be a loss.  The Taliban will be back in control of much of the country after the US leaves.

I think I am being generous in the last two, making the US a mediocre 2-1-2.  Not good value for what we pay.  I have a lot of respect for the country's soldiers, but the military industrial complex needs to step it up.

What do you think the War Record is?

Booty-Grabbing Cyclist Apologies for Being a Dumb ###

Booty-Grabbing Cyclist Apologies for Being a #######

When something happens out there in the world to illicit outrage and condemnation, the really fascinating thing isn’t so much the “something” as the reaction to it. Case in point: When Slovakian cyclist Peter Sagan grabbed a handful of the behind of a “podium girl” after finishing second in the Tour of Flanders last weekend, the world quickly divided into those who decried sexual harassment, inappropriate contact, and boorish behavior, and those who said that by definition podium girls should expect to be objectified so what’s the big deal. The official Tour de Flanders Twitter writer was mostly in the latter camp” “Naughty Sagan,” they tweeted, while posting the abovephoto. Others saw as an opportunity to rid cycling once and for all of pretty women (and now handsome men, in some cases) bestowing medals and congratulations on winners.

“Perhaps the controversy lifts the lid on an issue cycling needs to look at anew: is the use of models as some kind of uncomfortable hybrid of hostess and shamelessly exploitative “eye candy” now outmoded and inappropriate to the modern sport?” wrote the Guardian’s TalkingSport column.

As for Sagan, he mumbled his way through a video apology on Monday.
