Full Version: Will apps run on Mac OS?

There are a fair number of Mac users on board. Can we expect equal apps for equal pay in 2005?
Bruce Henderson
The VBD Excel Spreadsheet and all of the on-line material will work as is for Mac users.

The Draft Dominator and Trade Dominator will still be windows based. I've heard that if you get VirtualPC for the Mac that it will run the windows based apps.

I will be confirming this later this summer, or sooner if someone wants to purchase VirtualPC for me.

Has DD been modified/improved so that MAC users can utilize it WITHOUT having to use VirtualPC?
Bruce Henderson
Nope, it still requires VirtualPC.

Is there a particular version of Virtual PC that is required to run DD on MACs? Version 7.01? 7.02?

Or doesn't this really matter?
Bruce Henderson
I don't think it matters. Here is a link: VirtualPC that shows 7.0 working.

What would it take on your end to make DD Mac compatable? Not to keen on the program writing uptake so am wondering.

Pretty much a port or complete rewrite... and plenty of time.

I am a MAC user too. I agree that we should get equal value for our money. I am sure there are a lot of users like us. As large as your user base is, I think that you should make the conversion. You may even pick up some users. I have not yet renewed and I am looking at some other sites that might be more MAC friendly.

Do you Mac owners not use Parallels or Boot Camp? I do.

I'm a Mac user and brand new to FBG. I heard a lot about Draft Dominator from a friend and looked forward to checking it out. Now I can't so I plan to get my money back. Sucks to be FBG. They just lost a customer.

VMWare Fusion offers a free trial, as does Parallels Desktop.

Boot Camp is included with Mac OS X Leopard.

All three of these solutions will allow you to use Draft Dominator when combined with a Windows Install CD. I leave it up to you how to obtain one of those (legitimately or otherwise), but I wouldn't expect that to pose much difficulty.

Anyone know if LD or DD will work with CrossOver? BootCamp needs a SP2 Windows install and I didn't feel like searching the planet for an install copy and reg key, so I bought CrossOver. I can't seem to get LD or DD to work, though.

I haven't had success getting it to run in CrossOver, but I haven't tried messing with it much. I'll try to give it another shot with the latest version sometime next week.
