I'm sure this is a common question and has been ask before, but I have been unable to find it in any of the threads here.

How do you get players from the Player Pool onto the keeper list? I have tried everything I know and nothing works.

Every team in my league has kept two players from last year's roster. I need to place them on the keeper list so they won't be in the player pool when we draft.

Bring up the keeper list using the menu at the top. At the bottom of the keeper list, select the team name that you're going to put the player on. Set the round and pick number (I usually set the round to 0 for the keepers and set the pick number to the same number the team has during the draft, just to organize it better). Highlight the player in the player pool and hit the Add Player button at the bottom of the keeper list

Yep, the key is if the players do not count against draft picks, make sure you set both the Round and Pick to zero. If the players do count against draft picks, then set the appropriate Round and Pick.

Click View->Keeper List, resize window if necessary. Click on the player that you want to add to the keeper list in the player pool. Then select the team on the keeper list window. Enter the Round and Pick on the keeper list window (see notes above). Then click the Add button on the keeper list window.

I play in a 14 team league where each team keeps two from the previous years roster. I have set the appropriate numbers in the setup page.

The problem now is: When I run a mock draft DD tells me that each team is violating the team pick limit of players and ask me do I want to allow the pick.

I have set the rounds to twelve seeing that I have 2 of the keepers on the Keeper List. And I have doubled checked Roster limits and Starters.

We start 1QB and have 2 the roster

Start 2RB's and have 3 on the roster.

Start 2WR's and have 3 on the roster.

Start 1TE and have 2 on roster.

Start 1K and have 2 on the roster.

Start 1Def and have 2 on the roster.

Tell me where I have ######up. TIA

Are you using version 6.0a or 6.0b? I think with 6.0a and using the Draft Other Teams by ADP mode, you might see what you are seeing. With 6.0b though, I wasn't able to get it to happen with your starting requirements listed above.

One thing you can do is uncheck the "Exceed Max Starters Warning" on the Setup page. This just suppresses the error... but I'd like to find out why it isn't building the teams correctly in your case. If you get a chance email me your League File (*.ddf) from your C:\Program Files\DraftDominator subdirectory, and I'll take a peek at it.

Thanks Bruce. I will try and email you that today. BTW I am using 6.0a. If I down load 6b. will it automatically eliminate or delete 6a? How will that work? Or is it simply a whole new version and won't bother 6a? Hope to email ya soon.

Version 6.0b will install right on top of 6.0a. It won't affect any league files that you have created... but if you have tweaked any player projections... it will overwrite those with the latest projections.

I'd try version 6.0b first, before emailing me, since I think that will take care of your problem.

Email has been sent. Take a look at the VBD settings. I reset them to "Joe's Formula" and it still had each team drafting a position over the roster limit. Some had more kickers than allowed, others had more QBs than allowed etc. I'm sure it's not a glitch in the program but more like something I have done. TIA

BTW, just downloaded DD 6.0b. Thats the version I'm using now.
