Just learning how to play with this. I opened the trade analyzer and used the "Top Waivers" button to identify the best available kicker (Stover). I added Stover to the "after" team and removed Wilkins.
So now my before and after teams are identical, other than Stover replacing Wilkins.
According to the Trade Analyzer, this move will move my Kicker score from 67 to 233, a 277% improvement.
In the Projections, Stover is expected to score 120 points in our system, versus Wilkins' 116.
Why does the Trade Analyzer think there will be such a huge difference?

It appears that the trade anaylzer is using the VBD baselines to determine value. But I can't quite figure out what it is using for the projection that the baselines are then adjusting.
Depending on the baselines you use though, it can fluctuate player values quite a bit.
Quick hint, In the analyzer window, hit PF5 for the values of each player.

Totally forgot about the F5 feature. In my mind, indispensible for understanding the recommendations.

Math off in before and after?
Ok this tool rocks but I am curios about something that happened when I went through the trade analyzer.
Took my team, looked at the before, removed ONLY the defense and as soon as I did all other values changed in the % difference. Example, my team has kicker of Nate Kaeding, before all was equal, but once i swapped out defense, the value changed on kaeding from 107(team before) to 103 (team after)
i even reversed the transaction, deleted all players from the after side and then added them back but had the same inconsistency. shouldn't the two sides be equal if all players are the same??

There is a problem with the trade analyzer in 1.0d. I was analyzing a trade offer of Hasselbeck for Culpepper with some other players. Removing Hasselbeck from my squad had a 79% drop (I still have McNair and Pennington) and when I add Culpepper to my squad, I am still with a 79% drop in production. I used the F5 trick described above and it shows a value of 1 for Culpepper and Pennington and a value of 136 for McNair. (Hasselbeck's value is 557)
I know Culpepper is struggling but I think he would start ahead of McNair and Pennington once in awhile.
Thanks

What rank is Culpepper in your scoring system? QB2 or QB3? or lower...
Under the Default Scoring system... he is QB2 and on mine has a trade value of 1457.
Also what are your baselines set at? Joe's Secret works the best for the Trade Analzyer...

For some reason he is QB16 with a trade value of 1!!! I looked at the projections and he has more yards and TDs both running and passing then my remaining QB McNair or Hasselbeck. The fantasy points for each were: Culpepper - 640, Hasselbeck - 581, and McNair - 471. Maybe updating to version 4 this week will take care of this issue.
BTW, I am using Joe's Secret formula.

Email me your league file *.ddf with a brief explaination, and I'll take a look at it when I get home tonight.
