Full Version: Edting ddf file

I'd like to edit the ddf file to increase the precision of the QB yardage points (our league does 1 pt/15 yards, which would be 0.067, but DD only lets me enter in 0.07. I read in another post that you could edit the ddf file by hand and make the change there. DD will use the finer precision number internally even though it will show up rounded on the Setup form.

So, Bruce, what application should I use to edit the file? It looks like a straight ascii file, but If I go in and use something like WordPad to make the change, whenI go to save it it pops up a warning saying that the file will save the file in a text-only format which will lose all formatting and asks whether I want to do this. I haven't made the change, since I wasn't sure what it would do to DDs ability to subsequently use the file.

Can you make a recommendation here?

Thanks,
Marquis

You should be able to use Notepad to edit the text in the file. If you want to edit the format of the ddf you can use Btrieve.

Thanks, that worked. Change to finer grained number made some slight differences in QB overall rankings. They reflect their actual projections now.
