You can't carry liquids on board but you can bring on electronics (Cell phones / Ipods)?

What if terrorists manage to get someone in TSA who screens the luggage?

Made me wonder last week when the screener has middle eastern (ignorant, yes, but made me think)

I propose that any liquids carried through security must be opened and then drank by the passenger in front of security.

Even breast milk and formula?

ESPECIALLY breast milk.

I should have specified - even breast milk that isn't in the natural container?

Of course you can bring cell phones and iPods. They are far less dangerous than Mountain Dew.

I'm actually wondering what sort of liquids are explosive enough to rip a hole in a plane and bring it down? I would think that solid fuel plus an oxidizer would work better, but then again, an oxidizing agent plus liquid could work just fine too.

Where's the chemists around here? I know sp is a bio-chemist or some junk, but there's probably some industrial chemists here as well.

Really, to knock a hole in the shell that is the wall of the plane wouldn't take much I would think. shrug2.gif

Not sure if it would take the plane down or not, but even the smallest hole would depressurize the cabin enough to cause issues.

I dunno... I think it would take a lot considering that the pressure difference is quite substantial between the interior of the plane and the air at 30,000 ft. In fact it's about a 10 psi difference. I could go through a hoop stress analysis to determine the failure force necessary to overcome the al. shell of the airplane, but I really don't wanna right now.
