I'm in.

Weird hearing Maine love from non Mets fans.

Had a great 1st half last year and should have been named to the All Star team, then tired down the stretch. Hopefully he builds on that this year - he has looked fantastic & very confident so far this spring.

Cy Young is a bit crazy but one of the better #3 SP's in the game isn't.

Not Cy Young, but there is no doubt Maine could have 15-18 wins this year.

Adam Wainwright could win 15-18 too, but I don't see that happening either.

okay, maybe he'll get to 15 again.

Absolutely no way his WHIP is that low with his historical walk rates. He'll be lucky to have a WHIP below 1.3 again this season.

The rest of those projections seem fair as long as the Mets hitters stay healthy. If

John Maine = Rich Hill

Maine pitches in a more pitcher friendly park
Hill walks less batters

Neither will compete for the Cy Young, both should outproduce their draft position.

I'd like to buy a ticket for the Maine train, I stole him at pick #123.

The kid is throwing gas. Snatch him from someone while you can...before he's 10-1 with 100k's.

when omar minaya was asked who he was most impressed with in spring training, his answer was maine. he said he'd viewde him as a #3-4 pitcher who's now playing like a 3+. hype has been mounting on him- at least in the ny area- over the last week or so.
