Alright, so I waited much too long. Then it seemed like it didn't matter who I drafted. I ended up with J. Buck as my catcher. His pop looked appealing, but now thinking about it, his BA and playing time may be too large of a problem to have Buck as my regular catcher.

So who should I grab from the sludge pile that is left?

These guys probably have the fewest playing time issues:
Kendall
Suzuki
Ruiz
Schneider

Others:
Torrealba
Bard
Laird
Doumit
Napoli
Zaun
Estrada (injured)

I have limitted waivers for the season and would hate to keep burning them on a catcher...just something to keep in mind when deciding.

Doumit, Ruiz, Bard are better than Buck.

Slot Napoli after Doumit in an OBP league.

Exactly what I was going to write. Doumit has the most upside but could have the least amount of AB's among those listed. If you're hurting for avg Bard's probably your best bet.

Towles is not drafted, and is available.

This is not an OBP league...standard12 team, 5 x 5 Roto (BA, HR, RBI, R, SB)

I am leaning towards Ruiz...not sure that it matters, but here is the rest of my lineup:

1B Fielder
2B Weeks
3B Braun
SS Jeter
DH Hafner
OF Granderson (inj.), Rios, Bay
Bench Damon, Lopez, Freel, J. Upton (Lopez and Freel seem pretty useless now too!)

Hmm, Towles seems destined for a platoon and fast catchers with sore hammy's is not a good thing. He may be worth the risk though. Dare you roster two catchers? I know, crazy. Dropping Freel and Lopez for the two C's may be a good short term solution, make your decision one way or the other in a few weeks. You don't want to miss Towles if he does blow up.

Could easily let Freel go...would like to see if Lopez gets a trade before letting him go. But if I drop Buck and Freel...I have room for two catchers. I do have a limit of 25 moves for the year, however. Using two in the first week on catchers isn't my first choice on how I'd like to use them, but I could do it...
