Your exact words were 'Popularity contests on message boards is akin to third grade hijinks junior' Strike 1I don't remember calling you a blowhard, unless you really are Steve StoneOf course you don't remember. Fits your fraudulent behavior to a T. Refer to your lollipopping of Kenny Williams and you will shake the cobwebs in that coco-nut.
Nothing in your link with me calling you a blowhard, only a windsock. Steve Stone is the one I called a blowhard Strike 2 As the White Sox are currently in first place, I will stand firmly by my prediction, with fortified testicals in plain site, that Kenny Williams is the right GM for this team and that A Rod and Steve Stone weren't the answers to success on the South Side of Chicago. Of course, just like a fraud that dumps one team proves- your loyalty is worthless. All so easy to make grand predictions in August when the team is in first place. Way to go out on a limb. Ohhh yeah- A-Rod the loser is worthless with his lousy .315 average playing on a team right in the thick of the playoff race. Still better than what we have at third base or SS. But I will say that if the Sox fail to make the playoffs it will be 3 years of failure for Kenny Williams which is right about the time you dump the Sox and go jump ship. Here is a little clue- maybe you can jump on the bandwagon of the Cubs again? Steve Stone- that blow hard? Well I am all but certain that you were lollipopping him BIG TIME when you were a Cub fan. Probably one of the reasons why you became the fraud you are.
That prediction was made last August and with them in first place right now you can't call the season a failure. So what's the opposite of failure? Strike 3My signature has nothing to do with stalking you, it's just there to point out your opinion on a certain matter to others. One that I find comical. I don't think McBokonon thinks I'm stalking him by having one of his quotes in my signature, do you? So why do you feel the inflated sense of self importance to think that I'm stalking you by having a quote of yours in my sig? And if I remember correctly, I used to be in yours. Something about a name calling team. Seems we have a bit of hypocrisy going on here PM. Care to explain that?
Really? Is that why you have sent me PMs in the past to provoke me? Is that why you have told me to shut up here in this thread when I have an opinion? Try to piss on my leg in the FFA? Jumped me when I said the Tigers were overrated (and then tried to smooch some Kitty ### by putting down a fellow Sox fan)? Fellow Sox fan? Pfffftttttt it all makes sense now. I must say that this weekend is going to be a real test to see if the Sox can contend with the big boys. If they bring their errors and shoddy bullpen work to the Red Sox it will not go well. Let's see some home runs. That is what brought us a championship in 2005. Ain't that right Limpy?

I'm all for it. You think this team has what it takes to win it all again? You think the Sox could have gotten Harden instead of the Cubs? You think that we can win the division on the philosophy that we have to muscle home runs to score? You think that Q is a strong contender for AL MVP?

last night brought back bad memories, too many missed opportunities. Paulie goes 3 for 4 and we only score 3. Vasquez was mowing them down and we were hitting, one hit away from a different outcome. These are the games you can't afford to lose. I hate to say it , but this weekend is huge. The twinkies will probably sweep KC so anything less than a split spells ovah.
Buehrle needs to come up big and we have to figure out how to hit Lester, hopefully Ozzie plays some small ball. Does Josh Fields still play for us?

I was thinking the same on Fields but Uribe has solidified his place at third and spelling SS and 2B.
I think that KC has some fire at home (as we were able to get a taste of when they grabbed 2 of 3 from the Sox) so the Twins might not sweep.
The problem with the Sox (in the years they had good teams in the past sans the 2005 WS) offense is they rely on the HR too much. Akin to the softball team having trouble the majority of the time manufacturing runs unless they get the HR. Small ball, Ozzie ball and/or Go Go White Sox type of stuff. With no true lead off hitter and the rare instance of stealing bases there is a fat chance we will see consistent small ball.
I agree that Buehrle will have to step it up. Tonight is big. This series has that rare Monday night wrap around.

with Kornerko and Swish hitting the Ball, the Griffey experiment may be short lived. Griff looked awful yesterday against a mediocre pitcher. Bat speed is just too slow and slow to the ball in right. However if getting Griffey kicked Kornerko in the butt it may turn into a great move. Buehrle is over due for a good game against bosox.

Yes I am not all that happy with the production from Griffey but I am sure that he will help kick it into gear at some point. There is still a long way to go. I am just happy that Manny is not in this series but that does not mean the Bo_Sox are not loaded in other places. We owe them some payback for last year. Rocked us good last year.

It's not confidence I'm worried about. Outside of any series with the Twins, these games with the Red Sox (4 this weekend / 3 @ BOS at the end of the month) are possibly the most important games of the year. If they do fall out of first, it's probably the Red Sox they are battling for the Wild Card.

A lot of this winds down to Ozzie doing the right thing and taking the bat out of his hands and playing some small ball.
There's been plenty of times earlier in the year where he'd be swinging away in that situation because Ozzie would be looking for a big inning.

Jose Contreras left Saturday's game in the second inning with an apparent ankle or Achilles' tendon injury.
Contreras was injured while trying to cover first base. He never appeared to twist the ankle, suggesting he might have damaged his Achilles' tendon. He was able to walk off under his own power, but he was clearly in some pain, and a trip back to the DL seems likely. Jack Egbert and Lance Broadway would be candidates to replace him in the rotation.

New players, new roles
By Mark Gonzales, 1:20 p.m.
As of now, D.J. Carrasco will take Jose Contreras' spot in the starting rotation for the White Sox. That would put Carrasco in line to pitch Thursday against Kansas City, his former team.
Lance Broadway, recently promoted from Triple-A Charlotte, will serve as a long reliever after pitching mostly as a starter.
Horacio Ramirez, a former starter with Atlanta, will stay in the bullpen in a left-handed specialist role that he succeeded in with Kansas City before joining the Sox in a trade late Saturday night.
Chris Getz, promoted with Broadway from Charlotte, will serve as a utility infielder.
Third baseman Josh Fields, demoted to Charlotte last night, will have to work on his fielding to regain the coaching staff's confidence.

I like the Ramirez deal , anything to keep Boone out of the Majors. Thornton needs to stick with the heat and Dotel needs to get the garbage over down low. It seems like Jenks has more than 24 saves. If Linebrink comes back and pitches like he did in April - June then the Sox will have the best pen in the majors. Coop needs to get these guys to stay ahead in the count but not to be too perfect. Let's hope Danks pitches a gem tonight and the yankees get hot against the twinkies. Like to see us go up about 4 or 5 games before we hit the road. The nice thing is the Twins hit the road for 14 straight at the end of the month.
