And Marmol = :owned:
Floyd=oh never mind.
Yep. One bad outing against one of the best offenses in baseball compared to the systematic dismantling of what appeared to be one of the best set-up guys in baseball.
Marmol ERA on May 31st: 1.75
Marmol ERA after today: 4.13
You do realize this kid is bordline finished? Lou's killed him with overuse over the first half of the season. There's no reason that he's at 50+ innings before the ASB and how he leaves him in there to give up all five runs today is a flat out travesty.
Marmol will be fine. I'm sure he can use the rest of the ASG
All I did was point out that, like Marmol, Floyd had had a bad game
If you can't handle that, just stay over in the Sux thread.
Marmol's had plenty of bad games recently. That 2.50 jump in ERA did not happen just because of yesterday.
But I'll admit defeat in this argument. Who am I to criticize the pitching of an All Star?

Marmol to replace Wood on NL All-Star team
Right-handed pitcher Carlos Marmol of the Chicago Cubs will replace his teammate, Kerry Wood, on the National League All-Star roster. N.L. All-Star manager Clint Hurdle of the Colorado Rockies made the announcement today in conjunction with Major League Baseball.
Wood will not play in the 2008 All-Star Game but will attend the festivities. Marmol (2-3, 4.13 ERA, 3 Sv, 52.1 IP, 29 H, 70 SO) was selected because he was the relief pitcher who received the next highest vote total on the Player Ballot.
The 79th Major League Baseball All-Star Game, being held at Yankee Stadium in its final season, will be televised nationally by FOX Sports, in Canada by Rogers Sportsnet and Sportsnet HD and televised around the world by Major League Baseball International, with pregame ceremonies beginning at 8 p.m. (EDT). The 2008 All-Star Game will be preceded by FOX's coverage of the 2008 All-Star Game Red Carpet Parade along Sixth Avenue in Manhattan at 7 p.m. (EDT). ESPN Radio will provide exclusive national radio coverage of the 208 All-Star Game that will also be available on XM Satellite Radio, while MLB.com will provide extensive online coverage. For the sixth consecutive year, the outcome of the All-Star Game will have an impact on postseason play, as the winning League in this year's All-Star Game will have home-field advantage in the 2008 World Series.
