Full Version: did i completely rip this guy off?

i wouldn't care, except that i'm the commish of this league. i think the commish should avoid ripping someone off b/c there's no one to veto. in general, i just think it's better to the league to try to be fair.
i know the trade isn't vetoable, i've never vetoed a trade in this league and that's the way we like it. (i let a halladay for holliday trade go through last year without giving it a 2nd thought).

anyway, i gave russell martin, jhonny peralta, juan pierre, and carlos delgado for johan santana (i expected a counter, but he just accepted).

a couple of factors involved:
-it's an 11 player keeper league with very deep starting rosters (14 batters, 11 pitchers)
-this team has absolutely no depth (he's in last place with holliday, d. wright, prince, beltran, johan, haren, harden). half his starting lineup is waiver fodder.
-his pitching staff is fine. he has major weaknesses at C,SS,OF and desperately needs speed and power in plenty of places.
-pitching is generally undervalued in this league (that awful halladay/holliday trade aside)

anyway, just looking for a 3rd pary opinion on this.
the league's not in an uproar (yet anyway). just wondering how guilty i should feel.

You gave up Russell Martin for Johan Santana. That is essentially the deal.

Delgado's been kind of good since this trade.
