Thanks in advance for any thoughts on these guys.

12-teamer - a team that was in the playoffs the year before last, injury bug hit last season. Offense has some holes, but has an anchor QB - PManning.

Start 11 in a 3-4-4 or 4-3-4 alignment. DL/LB/DB. Scoring varies by position, but is basically:
6 per sack, TD, interception, safety
4 for a forced fumble, 3 for a fumble recovery
2 for a pass defensed or solo tackle, 1 for an assist. DL get an extra point per tackle for both solo & assist.

Kelly, Tommy OAK DT
Abraham, John ATL DE
Douglas, Marques TBB DE
Spicer, Paul JAC DE
Umenyiora, Osi NYG DE

Crowell, Angelo BUF LB
Gaither, Omar PHI LB
Harris, Napoleon KCC LB
Keiaho, Freddie IND LB
McIntosh, Roger WAS LB
Nicholas, Stephen ATL LB
Peterson, Mike JAC LB
Posluszny, Paul BUF LB
Rivers, Keith CIN LB ®
Thomas, Zach DAL LB

Bodden, Leigh DET CB
Jackson, Marlin IND CB
Robinson, Dunta HOU CB
Abdullah, Hamza DEN S
Page, Jarrad KCC S
Whitner, Donte BUF S
Wilson, Gibril OAK S

Notes:
Generally I play a 3-4.

DL: Osi is a must start, and Kelly/Douglas/Douglas all have been DL2 in one of the last 2 years. Spicer is fungible at around DL4 level, and will probably be cut.

LB: Other than Nicholas, a liekly cut, not sure that I want to cut anyone here. Gaither is the next lowest points per game guy (LB5 level), and while Philly isn't the greatest for stats, we'll see who ends up being the 3-down LB's there.

DB:
Really confused here. Wilson & Bodden should be good, and I like Jackson/Whitner/Robinson (although Dunta got hurt). Not sure if Page & Abdullah need to be upgraded.

General:
I seem to be good at getting quantities of level 2-4 talent, but not so good at getting top tier talent. I've tried to draft defense & work waivers hard, but trades are hard to pull off for me.

Overall, I agree with your assessment that you've got too many mid-level players and not enough studs.

Kelly, Tommy OAK DT
Abraham, John ATL DE
Douglas, Marques TBB DE
Spicer, Paul JAC DE
Umenyiora, Osi NYG DE

Umenyiora and Kelly should be fine. Abraham isn't a bad DL3, even with the tackle heavy scoring system. As a DL2, you're probably losing the advantage of having Umenyiora. Douglas and Spicer will be lucky to be replacement level players this season.

Crowell, Angelo BUF LB
Gaither, Omar PHI LB
Harris, Napoleon KCC LB
Keiaho, Freddie IND LB
McIntosh, Roger WAS LB
Nicholas, Stephen ATL LB
Peterson, Mike JAC LB
Posluszny, Paul BUF LB
Rivers, Keith CIN LB ®
Thomas, Zach DAL LB

Posluszny and Peterson are a good start. I still think Keiaho is a player. Thomas is losing momentum with the news that he won't play much in the nickel and Rivers may not be the LB3 he should eventually become until mid-season. Crowell, Gaither, McIntosh are all solid. Harris and Nicholas can go.

Bodden, Leigh DET CB
Jackson, Marlin IND CB
Robinson, Dunta HOU CB
Abdullah, Hamza DEN S
Page, Jarrad KCC S
Whitner, Donte BUF S
Wilson, Gibril OAK S

Wilson is a stud. Bodden and Jackson are two of the better corner prospects and are probably DB3+. Whitner should be steady. Robinson is a total wildcard this season and probably won't contribute much until next season, if then. Page and Abdullah need to be upgraded. Abdullah is worth watching, but his preseason injury has cost him a starting job that the Broncos may not have really wanted to give him anyway.

Jene, thanks for the reply.

I've cut Spicer & Nicholas, adding Leonard Little who someone cut, who gives me yet another injury-prone boom-bust DL, a-la Abraham. It should open the way for me to cut Douglas.

I'm still witing to see what the KC revolving door brings with Harris.

I'm trying to sift through the DB options next.

Updated roster, looking for any final thoughts.

Kelly, Tommy OAK DT
Abraham, John ATL DE
Umenyiora, Osi NYG DE
Little, Leonard STL DE

Crowell, Angelo BUF LB
Gaither, Omar PHI LB
Keiaho, Freddie IND LB
McIntosh, Roger WAS LB
Peterson, Mike JAC LB
Posluszny, Paul BUF LB
Rivers, Keith CIN LB ®
Thomas, Zach DAL LB

Bodden, Leigh DET CB
Jackson, Marlin IND CB
McGowan, Brandon CHI S
Page, Jarrad KCC S
Whitner, Donte BUF S
Wilson, Gibril OAK S

Looking at grabbing Yeremiah Bell at DB. I will need to make a move at some point for another DL with Osi out for the year, but it means this team is more likely to be a rebuilding candidate.
Jene Bramel
I'd much rather have Bell than Page right now and in the long(er)-term.

Little was a very good addition. thumbup1.gif

I would agree with Jene and much rather have Bell than Page.

I would not be in a hurry to cut Douglas. He has been a very underrated IDP DE for a few years because his tackle numbers are always high. I'd wait and see what his role is with the Ravens before making a decision.

Your LBs look very good.
