This guy crushed people last year with 8 FF and 96 total tackles... Do u think he'll do it again?
I have the rights to him and Richard Marshall... Who is better?

Maybe he doesn't put up quite the numbers he did last year, but I still own him as a starting DB in both my leagues.

Harris will be hard pressed to put up the numbers he did last year. 8 FF, man thats crazy. Charles Godfrey could play a large role in that.
Deke Cooper, a 15 game starter @ FS last year is gone (Atlanta). Cooper is probably nothing more than a career backup. The Panthers drafted a very good safety out of Iowa in Godfrey and plugged him in as the starter pretty much from day one. Godfrey should be a big upgrade @ FS.
Not sure how often Carolina interchanged their safeties last year, Godfrey may give them more flexability with that, as I would think every team wants their safties to be interchangeable, why wouldn't you.

Harris has been bothered with a groin injury, and didn't see any action in the pre season. He probably could have played last night, however Carolina held out their starters. He should be able to go when they count. Groin injuries can be a tricky though.

One thing Harris and Marshall have in common in terms of their 2008 production, may be Godfrey. Being a coverted CB, Godfrey affords the Panthers the ability to have 3 CB's in their base defense, this may cut into some of Marshall's snaps over the course of the year.

Really tough call between the two, because of Harris' groin issue. Marshall will be a starter someday ... somewhere. I would lean towards Harris. Personally I like Godfrey better than both in a dynasty format, I like them Iowa guys.

It's easier to take Marshall if you get rewarded highly for passes defensed or return yards, or if you're using him as a boom-bust option behind two solid starters, or you're just in a big play scoring system. Otherwise, their tackle potential is nearly equal, with Harris a much safer bet to get there but Marshall with likely more upside, even in a tackle heavy system. Harris will be lucky to get half of his FF output from 2007 this year.

Marshall has been a top DB playing part time, finishing with 70 and 79 solos in the last two years. He is a stud and I'd keep him without question. Harris is also solid, but Marshall's upside is through the roof.
